The Paris Jazz Festival is a small festival in a beautiful location. It normally operates from early June to late July each year. I went in 2013 and had a good time. Ticket prices are around 5EUR and you get some surprisingly good bands playing. If you're in the area I would recommend checking it out but wouldn't fly in especially for the 'event'. A good effort by France none-the-less. 6/10. read more

Late entry, I attended July 2012. The most magnificent music festival experience ever! The Parc Floral de Paris is an ideal setting for this great event. The National Jazz Orchestra is phenomenal. read more

The design and acoustics of the main concert hall are just incredible. A minor point was that finding the bathrooms during the intermission was confusing and the fist bathroom was out of service. Getting to the Philharmonie is very easy with the subway. If you come, I suggest that you have dinner at the restaurant Aux Arts et Sciences Réunis where they were very attentive to have dinner over in 1 hour so that we could arrive on time for the show.

J'adhère, je n'en rate pas un à moins d'être en congés ailleurs évidemment. Un pléiade d'Artistes Jazzy qu'on aurait rarement l'occasion de voir à des prix défiant toute concurrence. J'y ai rencontré Ahmad Djamal (l'Icône aux doigts d'or pour piano jazz), Césaria Evora (La Déesse aux pieds nus), Coltrane band, et David El-Malek au saxopho accompagné de ses acolytes de tous horizons. Un son Jazzy vivifiant dans la vie des hommes... c'était en 2010... c'était divin ! ;-)... Le Parc Floral, c'est aussi un lieu pour se ressourcer, le jardin botanique regorge de merveilles à contempler, pour les citadins, on redécouvre une certaine passion pour les fleurs, les arbres, les splendeurs de la nature en été comme en hiver quoi ! read more

On oublie vite la queue interminable pour rentrer au parc floral pendant le festival de jazz, dont le prix d'entrée est relativement peu élevé. On ne peut pas rêver mieux comme cadre à un festival "estival", avec ses serres dépaysantes et chatoyantes, ses lacs, ses petits chemins s'enfonçant dans la végétation luxuriante. Les concerts ont lieu sous un chapiteau, j'ai le souvenir frissonnant du passage de Molly Johnson qui chantait accompagné du bruissement des arbres environnant la scène, ou de celui d'Amp Fiddler ou tout le monde a fini debout. Je vous défends de passer à côté d'un tel festival avec toujours une superbe programmation, pour un prix "dérisoire" comparé à la plupart des festivals. read more
