Today was my fourth time going there and asking for the same design, but since they were busy, they left my feet looking terrible--it wasn't even the color I wanted. I read some good reviews about this place so I decided to check them out but unfortunately my experience was the total opposite. It's small & clean in a nice looking neighborhood. I went in for a basic mani & French pedi. Now for those that get French - we know it's a specialized service (meaning they upcharge for it). A specialized service needs a specialist. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While the nail tech was polite and tried her best, you could tell that wasn't her speciality and with the language barrier it was hard communicating exactly what was needed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Plus I think techs today put more effort into those that get gel/acrylic etc over basic/natural which is disappointing. She asked me if I wanted my toes cut down (I said yes) but she ended up filing them so they were still long. The towels are pretty dingy and they dry your feet with the same towel they work on, cuticle clean up was great but the leg massage was way too much pressure. I asked for bubble bath nail color but they gave me a purple equivalent & I had to ask for a 2nd coat. The white lines aren't crispy, & while I appreciate her trying to emulate the look I had when I came in, I think it would've been better if she just did her own thing. The manicure was standard, she skipped a few nails and had to go back. I asked for square square all around (hands & feet) but ended up with round square. Again, she was sweet & polite but for $78 - it wasn't worth the experience, especially not the French because my toe nails are still long so you can barely see the white tips and the color gives more of a purple than pink read more

Yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes! I've been to several nail salons in the Navy Yard/Eastern market area. Cosmopolitan step aside, Paris nails takes the trophy. Meticulous, precise, clean, patient, hospitable. I have absolutely zero complaints about this place. I wanted gel x, a cat eye look and my nails were done beautifully. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While my nail tech was doing my nails, I decided I wanted them a little shorter and was met with no resistance. She happily obliged to any and all request regarding my nails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She took her time, made sure I liked the design of the first nail before continuing on to complete the rest of my nails. I came here recently after getting my nails done elsewhere, leaving unhappy with the result. Because the original work was done at a salon across town, I took to Yelp to see where might have a familiarity with Gel-X extensions nearby. I thought I knew most of the nail salons in and around Cap Hill/Navy Yard and SW but I was surprised to take a look to find a name I didn't remember before with great reviews! I knew the location but also remember coming here a long time ago and not being very impressed. But turns out, there is a new owner/management (and I believe name change) so I gave them a call to set up an appointment. All I really needed was pretty basic - just for them to take the polish off the Gel X Extension (which essentially requires buffering it off) and a new design applied. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I arrived to my appointment, the nail tech was still finishing up her last client so I waited about 20 mins. Normally that would be a bit annoying the the manager that greeted me was so incredibly nice and I wasn't in a big rush.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once ready, the nail tech that did my nails was the sweetest as well as very skillful and talented. I showed her a few pics for designs and could just tell she was very confident in her ability to recreate. (You can always tell when there is some hesitancy that it might be a struggle!) She did a beautiful tortoiseshell tip and it was almost therapeutic to watch her paint and design. Although I've only had one experience here it was enough for me to want to return instead of cutting across town to the other salon go to. Came at 2:00pm on a Monday and asked for a new set of builder gel. Came here to get pedicure redone after another place did a crap job. My nail tech was great. Her cuticle cutting as steady, patient, and just perfect. Wild how her pedicure skills are so much better than the last lady. Nail tech is like that. Paint job clean. She was phenomenal and I am so pleased. She took her time and the pedicure was so perfect! Despite all of the positive reviews, I went to Paris Nails and Spa, DC SE for the first time (05/05/25) and my experience was not good afterward. I did a walk-in for an eyebrow waxing. The salon was busy, but I only had to wait for 10-15 minutes before someone took me to the room for the waxing (hence, the 2 stars), and the service was pretty quick and painless. After I left the salon and boarded the Metrorail, I noticed the areas around my eyebrows had started itching. Later that evening as the itching grew worse, I decided to take a picture to get a close-up look. Wow!! There were tiny bumps below the upper brows and some redness, which obviously was a rash!! This led me to think that either the tools (tweezer, scissor, eyebrow brush) used during the service were unsanitary or I had an allergic reaction to the wax. The itching is still ongoing and I have been applying warm/cold cloths and some vaseline to the areas. I've come here every 3 weeks for the past 6 months and received excellent service by KU. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Today I called to get an appointment to get two nails fixed. I work until 6 they're open until 7/8. I asked could I come in and get my two nails fixed I was told no because there was a customer that had an appointment after me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everytime I have an appointment there I don't get service until 15 sometimes 30 min after my nail appointment time. I never complain but this one time I cannot be accommodated because of someone else's time now? Randomly decided to treat myself to a mani pedi and popped into Paris. Despite not having been to a salon in years, I felt right at home with the warm and welcoming service. The pedicure was super relaxing, and Vivi gave me the milky French mani pedi I requested, which turned out great even though it was the first time she did it. I'm in love!
