I had some work done on my garage doors yesterday. I used Blaine Parish of Parish Overhead Doors. He showed up earlier than promised, took care of business,and kept me very well informed as to what and why he was doing the things that he was doing to service all three of my doors. He adjusted and lubed all three doors, which included adding a bit of load to the springs so that when the garage door opener was disconnected , I could open the doors more easily and they would actually stay up. I called him initially to replace the bottoms seals which he did, but the rest of the stuff that he did was included with the price of the service call. I was impressed. When my garage door stopped working, I didn't know who to called. I searched Craigslist ads and he was the only one advertising garage door repairs that gave his full name in his ad and had a website for his business. It was important to me to have someone reputable and not "fly by night" to come to my house. I called Blaine and he was able to come out to my home at a time convenient to my schedule. Not only did he have my door repaired in short order, but he also made it better--I didn't realize that there were problems with the rollers which made the door so loud when opening. Blaine just got through repairing my garage door that strangely began stopping after moving about 6 inches when going down. In a word, he was great! Diagnosed and solved the problem quickly, then did a complete check, tightened all fasteners (and there are a lot on my old, heavy, wood 2-car garage door), and lubricated everything. Then he noticed that the long metal rod across the top of the door (on which the springs and cables are attached) had a bearing that had come out of place, causing the rod to rub on the metal bracket. Eventually, the bracket would have sawed off the end of the rod, which would be a major problem. Blaine spotted that and was able to add a new bracket with a bearing - disaster averted! And his charge was very reasonable! On top of all that, he communicated very well, was prompt, and he's very personable.
