I am so grateful to Park Avenue Kindercare! My 2.5 year old daughter loves going and has already learned so much in the few months she's been at the school. I can not say enough about her incredible primary teachers, Ms Lenin's and Ms Schimmy. They have taught my daughter so many skills. And they have made learning fun with their incredible activities and curriculum. In addition to my daughter's exceptional education, I am equally impressed with the level of organization, cleanliness, and professionalism they bring to a very long day! My daughter naps for almost two hours every single day! They send me incredible photos throughout the day so that I feel safe and confident. The assistant teachers and afterschool help are extremely kind and professional making a very long day (9-6) not so long at all! I'm thrilled to see my daughter thriving. The two directors, Lauren and Stephanie, are extremely giving with their time. I feel so safe with them running the school. It's an exceptional place. And I have a background in education and therapy, so I'm a bit of a hard sell. This park Avenue branch for Kindercare is outstanding - highly recommend. Teachers are well trained, caring, and focused on children's development. The space is clean and engaging - people clearly enjoy working with each other there which generates a family communal atmosphere. Our son started at six month and has excelled over the past year. He is excited to arrive at drop off and always happy and smiling when we pick him up. The teachers and administration here are friendly, caring, and thoughtful. They take photos and videos throughout the day. They do a lot of fun arts and crafts, and there's a weekly music class for each of the classes. They do fun seasonal photo shoots for the kids which parents always love (they're a LOT better than the typical DOE "picture day" photos). This is not just a typical daycare, but is more like a school with structured learning and teachers who care about the kids. The class sizes are relatively small, and the kids learn a tremendous amount. The cons is price, though if you survey any of the daycare centers nearby, they're all around the same price. Bright Horizons is even more expensive - which is nuts. The hours here are very flexible for working parents and during plenty of holidays, they are open. The admin now are Lauren and Emily - and they are a great team and are fantastic with communicating with parents. read more

The reason for this negative review is that they are very rude. I really wanted to like this daycare because in our walk-through the place was very clean and organized. My husband and I meet with Kim, She seemed nice but a she wasn't very helpful with the information that she provided. (she talked so fast and very in general, nothing specifice about the daycare) She said that she can send all the information over email and respond to any question that we have. Few days pass and she emails us some basic information and the tuition rates. I replied back within a few days and asked her for more information before we make a decision, 8 days go by and she still didn't reply, I send another email to her and it's been 7 days since the second email and we still haven't heard back from her or the staff. (and she was very much aware that we were interested and we wanted this to happen as soon as possible) read more

CCLC Park is a very well-run child care center that's just a couple blocks walk from Grand Central - a miracle! The center takes babies through Pre-K, and is open from 7am - 6:30 pm. On my tour, I was very impressed by the director, Kim Palumbo, who has 15+ years of early education experience and is a mom herself. The center also has another full-time administrator. In my experience, having full-time administrative staff is essential to maintaining the quality of a child care center. The center has two infant classrooms, one toddler classroom, one 2's classroom, and one 3-4's classroom. The infant classrooms are teeny-tiny, especially after you add all those cribs, but the other classrooms are good size, and the lobby feels spacious and nice. This review is based on a tour I took in February of 2013, so the specifics might be dated. That said, one of my colleagues has sent her child here for the past year and she is delighted with the quality of care. As of my tour in February 2013, CCLC offered full-time, MWF and TR options. For full-time care, monthly tuition was about $2.6K / month for infants, scaling down to $2.2K / month for Pre-K. Given that the Bright Horizons at Rockefeller Center is closing in September 2014, I expect there will be a lot of demand at CCLC. I'd recommend taking a tour and getting on the waitlist long before you need care. read more

Our son was at 90 Park for a week of backup care. He usually has a lot of trouble adjusting to a new environment, and I was prepared for a lot of tears every morning. But instead he instantly connected with Ms. Dara and Ms. Lexie and every night he was very excited to go back the next day. We got a stream of updates so we could follow all the great field trips the kids went on, and how he reacted to the classroom activities. We were impressed with the curriculum, in particular the SEL activities, and how much fun our son had every day. Thank you Ms Dara and Ms Lexie. He felt incredibly loved. read more

Our older daughter has been at the Park Avenue KinderCare for 2 years (0.5-2.5 yrs old), and it's been amazing! She loves her teachers, and it's clear they love her back. She's made great friends, and there's a really lovely community among the parents. We've been so impressed by the instruction and activities. Every week there's a mix of art, music, and movement activities, plus lots of reading, singing, and practicing new words and concepts. The staff has been great at helping us figure out how to teach and reinforce new behaviors - like potty-training - at home. Finally, it's clear they're always thinking about every aspect of the experience for the kids. For example, they always move children up to the next classroom in pairs so that they have a familiar friend from day one. My husband and I both work, so we really value the fact there are multiple options for extended day (the center is open 7 am - 6:30 pm) and a catering option for older children if you don't want to pack lunches and snacks. The communication from both her teachers and the center staff is excellent, and we like the app they use to share photos and updates so we can see what she's been doing during the day. My daughter attended Park Avenue Kindercare from the time she was 11 weeks old to the week before Kindergarten started just recently. I cannot speak highly enough about this center. I always knew she was in good hands. The center was always clean and inviting, the teachers and director are wonderful, and my daughter was always happy there. We have had our son at CCLC's 90 Park location for just over one month. It has been an unbelievable experience. The quality of care they provide is undeniable - and I was certainly nervous going into the whole daycare situation. Now looking back, it is the best decision i ever made. The facility is super cute and clean, and the teachers are always smiling and always giving so much love to the children. When you walk through the door you can see that the kids are HAPPY - which says it all. Everyone at the center is equally professional as they are personable and they are completely understanding of every child's specific needs as well as every parent's individual concerns. When i go pick my son up each day i hear all about his activities, his mood, how he slept, how he ate - the full report.
