I came here over the summer in July after a photoshoot. I was just hungry and needed something to eat at home so I just grabbed take-out. The servers I encountered were really friendly when I had visited and acknowledged me right away. I had already been helped by one gentleman before and another lady had asked after a few minutes if I had been helped so I definitely felt welcomed there. I ordered a drink and the Institutionalized Pizza which was really good for a vegetarian gluten free pizza and the size was and price was reasonable. I took some pics, the pizza shifted while I was on transit though. The only caveat would be the seats at the booth were a little dusty so I think the establishment could have been a bit cleaner otherwise the food was good and as for the service there was really nothing to complain about. I am so pumped we stumbled on this gem. No idea when they opened but the bar is tucked away lower Commercial that offers incredible bites and cheap drinks! The place is surprisingly large. When we arrived, the bar was packed! We got a seat at their high tables and took advantage of their cocktails and daily specials. Note: they offer Happy Hour every day but also have a daily special. Tuesday was all cans and bottles at discounted $2 off all pizzas. The pizzas were delicious! I got a half mushroom half veg and they come layered with toppings and loaded with cheese. They do not skimp on the important things. Service was great and when the place got busy, we still were acknowledged! Great find and will definitely go back! read more

I used to like this place but the last two times we've been here, the service has been iffy - waiters take forever to come by and except for one friendly waitress, the rest were curt and borderline annoyed to be there. The nachos we had the last time were stale and I asked for hot sauce which came at the very end of my meal, but i was still charged $1.50. For a tiny bit of hot sauce? Really? Went to Park Drive for Trivia Night & had a great time! The staff & MC were very entertaining & the whole was a vibe! We ordered the $8 sush drinks deal & the hot honey pizza. The dough was a little thick & felt more like a bread than a pizza dough so if you prefer thin crust i'd order something else. tasted great though, just not what we were expecting. This is a nice spot on the Drive. You can sit inside w/plexiglass between tables or out on the patio. The environment and staff are welcoming. I had the truffle fries, the hot wings and a real pint of Guinness (20oz). The portions are large, so I took half the food home for another time. It is well-priced food for the amount you get. A friend ordered the pizza & said it was good. You can choose from pre-set pizza toppings or choose your own toppings. Eat in or take out. The beer selection was varied and local - Postmark IPA, Steamworks IPA, Pilsner amber ale; and they have wine & cocktails. We were all happy with our food and drink selections. It's definitely a good stop on the Drive, especially if you want a pub atmosphere. read more

Usually I pick the places, but this time my boyfriend suggested this one for happy hour. Am I ever glad he did! It's weird that I never noticed it before, it's in the old Greek Bouzyos location. I have lived in East Van for 20 years. One thing about the Drive bars is they are so hit and miss, that when you find a good one or few, you tend to just frequent those ones. I'm always happy to add another to the list. I do like what they've done with the decor. Old chandeliers, long glass faux fireplace, TV screens, and lots of seating options. They also have a private room that you can book. Our server, David, was just learning as it was his first day. He was enthusiastic and smiled however we did have to wave him over when we had empty glasses. The bartender also came out to check on us. They have a very good beer selection, lots on tap, lots of local stuff. The nachos were on point, just loaded up! They had a good playlist on and the TV screens I don't think the sound on but there was a few different sports actions happening. All in all, I'm totally going to go back. read more

I was at the Park Drive RESTAURANT recently with a large group organized by Meetup.com. I left after about an hour because: 1. The service was poor. The organizer had given the business plenty of notice to arrange staffing for the 45 people signed up. But only two staff were assigned for the 30 or more in our area by 6.45pm. My table mates waited 10 to 15 minutes for their first drink and had to ask the staff repeatedly for attention. I was on Dry January and was only drinking soda water, ordered a second one from waitstaff Neska, who completely forgot and had to be reminded. 2. Do not choose this place for groups because it's a restaurant and not a bar. That means their license does not allow patrons to either stand or move from seat to seat - you must stay seated in the same place. Not good, and the London Pub, for example, is better suited for this kind of group. 3. The acoustics are terrible, a long narrow space of hard surfaces. Within minutes of arriving all of us were yelling to be heard by people sitting shoulder-to-shoulder next to us. read more

Ambience and food are alright. Beer selection is okay. The thing that made our last visit a little subpar is the fact that they split up our bill among 3 people incorrectly - which would have been fine if they'd taken a look at their mistake and made it right immediately. They charged us for an extra portion of nachos and an extra portion of park fries (an extra 20$) when we brought it up to them they insisted they did split it up right and it just looked odd on our split up bill because of their "new system" and the "liquor tax". I'm sure liquor tax does not equate to 20% of the subtotal of the entire bill. It just made us a little annoyed that they handled the situation the way that they did. I totally understand that mistakes are made. Just take a few minutes to assess the situation instead of getting so defensive about it. read more

Was walking around commercial drive looking for a nice bar to grab an easy dinner at. To be fair, commercial drive has no shortage of nice bars. Park drive was a bit quieter and seemed a bit cozier. The staff was hit or miss. Luckily our hostess was friendly and talkative. My group kept it simple and got a hungry man pizza and some Hoyn(I think that's how you spell it) beers. The pizza was alright. But the beers were really great. Maybe my experience is biased cause I enjoyed the alcohol and company tho haha. Solid beer selection, 20 taps and 2 ciders. 10 wines. Huge share plates. Cool new decor with lots of long high tables great for groups. Comfy benches. Nice outdoor patio when it warms up outside. Friendly staff. The walls are plastered with TVs so this place now beats St. Aug and Toby's for sports viewing. The food is ample but only... ok. Brand new sports bar on the Drive. I'm happy about this! I live a block away and love having options for a drink. This place used to be an old run down Greek restaurant which was small and dark. Now they have really opened up everything. The walls are unpolished concrete which I think looks really cool. Chandeliers for lots of lighting and a great looking electric fireplace in the back area of the restaurant. Tons of seating too. Good selection of beer and the food was decent. A bit too pricey and salty for me. I will be back though. Always happy to have a new bar to hang out at read more

Overall, the service was not great. I don't really blame the servers though because it really seems like the management is less than courteous to them. When I was waiting in line for the washroom, which is located next to the dishpit, I couldn't help but over hear a supervisor/manager (not sure) speaking to their staff in the most condescending tone. Visiting from California, we chanced into Park Drive for an afternoon refreshment and were delighted with the warm ambience, great service, and fun vibe. But what REALLY impressed me ... As we were leaving Vancouver the next day, I realized that I'd left my favorite baseball hat at the bar. I called Park Drive, and the very nice manager found my hat and said he'd mail it to me in California! He didn't even ask for me to first pay for postage! Today my cherished hat arrived in the mail. POOR MANAGEMENT! I thought this was a great addition to the Drive. Cool bar with outdoor space just a couple of doors from our place. We went a couple of times, food was decent, drinks good! When we came on one of their busier nights, a Saturday, we popped by with some friends to get a couple of beers and food. They ran out of most of their food, no big deal, we made it work. But then I went to the bathroom and 10 minutes later the bartender shows up, telling us we need to settle as the kitchen staff reported someone (girl in blue shirt - apparently me- bar was busy) stole fries fromthe pass. He didn't even ask for our point of view or tried to solve the situation, he basically wanted to kick us out. I asked to speak with the manager, who turned it to be one of the owners, and unfortunately wasn't capable of sorting the situation in a professional manner either. She didn't know what was going on, had no hospitality skills to solve the situation or acknowledge that her clearly no-trained staff made a mistake. I've worked in hospitality half my life and this is not how you treat your customers especially when you been open for like 2 weeks. We had no reason to steal fries, in fact, we asked to order a lot of food that they didn't have, that we would have also happily paid for! So sad so see another poorly managed bar, the only good thing about our visit was our actual server who seemed to be the only person fit for the job!!! read more

Very poor service. Manager greeted us and took our names for the patio waitlist, and then sat at the bar. After waiting for a few minutes at the bar they asked if we were doing okay despite no food or drink or menus in front of us. We ordered our drinks and were brought to a table on the patio after about 10 minutes. We were completely ignored after being moved outside to the point that both our drinks were empty and we hadn't even been spoken to by a server. Finally we waved someone down and asked for menus. She took her time bringing them over and then never returned. We finally had to look up how much our drinks had cost on the menu and then left that much on the table and left. Very disappointing for a new restaurant on commercial drive to have such poor service. Also the Moscow mule on tap left a lot to be desired. read more

Disappointing menu and beer selection -- you're within 10 blocks of some of the best craft breweries in the city and your tap list is filled with generic beer. The menu is full of standard pub food selections with no creativity. You guys have a great opportunity to be successful here, please don't waste it. read more
