We had a large suite on the second floor, with a huge deck overlooking the valley and vineyards. Absolute heaven. This is wine country, and the owners have their own vineyards that surround the house. For 6 Euro you can buy a bottle (or two or three...) The hosts are a family, 3 generations living there on the side of the mountain. The building itself was constructed only a counple of years ago, so everything is new, but semi-rustic. One evening we walked into Pedersano for pizza. On our way back the skies opened and it started pouring. Just at that moment, the host's father pulled up in his car and told us to jump in. He drove us back to the B&B. Apparently they had become worried about us and sent the grandfather out to fetch us. Wow. Finally, I shouldn't even need to state this explicitly...but my family is a bit non-traditional (gay parents, one of whom is Black, and two biracial kids). The hosts didn't even blink. Feels like the middle of nowhere, but it's just a 5-minute car ride from the lively medieval city center of Bassano del Grappa (and there are even a couple of restaurants within walking distance).

The food served at the restaurant is very mediocre, but priced appropriately. Dinner was 15 Euro and provided a satisfactory menu. As an American traveling to Europe, I often find myself pretty disappointed if I stray from a Marriott or other well known chain. I wasn't at all here, and will likely plan to stay again if or when the situation presents itself.

It is worth the extra to have the mountains in sight when you wake up in the morning. They do have a gym but it is limited. It only goes up to 12kg on freeweights. They have a bench for using freeweights, treadmill, upright bike, and some wall all in one unit that I can't figure out. It is definately one of the best hotels in the area.

Breakfast is a bit minimal, as in most places in Italy. It's a bit outside of the center, but by foot you can reach the train station and the beginning of the center in 10-15 minutes. The hotel offers free wi-fi, but it's very slow and often breaks.
