Words cannot describe how bad, but I'll try. The brushed steel/glass facade photo on the booking sites conceals a shoddy, down at the heels dump. No deadbolt. No coat hangers. No coffee available anywhere on property unless you buy the full breakfast buffet, which doesn't open until 10:30. I arrived at 7:30 pm and it took 10 minutes until someone appeared to check me in. The pool has been drained, and there sounds like a family of frogs living in the stagnant water in the middle of the tarp. An extremely good location, paid for with points that were about to expire, are the only positive things I can say. The worst place I've stayed at in decades. A dead hooker under the bed would be an upgrade. Avoid at all costs until there is a total top-to-bottom renovation. read more

The only good thing about this place is when I was finally able to leave. I am not expecting every hotel to have a fresh paint job and brand new furniture. But at the bare minimum it should be clean. The room I got smelled awful and seems like the only thing that got touched since the last guest was the bed. Carpet is nasty and stained, you can tell it wasn't even vacuumed. The upholstered chair has a ton of mystery stains and also covered in crumbs. Doesn't seem like any surface was wiped down, all had crumbs and hair everywhere. The entire bathroom area was covered in hair and you could tell had not been swept. The shower and tub had not been cleaned either. Besides the very basics not being cleaned, the walls,l and doors are super grimey and dirty. The property is also pretty dirty and run down. I've machine was half disassembled and covered in dirt dust and cobwebs. Would not recommend and I wouldn't stay here again. I'd rather spend another 80 bucks and stay somewhere where I know they can at least wipe off a counter. read more

A very dilapidated place. My room was full of bugs, filthy walls, red (blood?) blotches on window shade, dirty carpet, only 1 light, other lights had missing light bulbs. Bathroom light very dim - only one of three fixtures in vanity area worked, TV didn't work and no maintenance until the next day. Linens were ok. Staff was very nice and friendly. Front revolving door blocked off and not working, stairs were blocked off in places and unsafe. Walls in room were dirty, needed cleaning and painting. No hairdryer, coffee pot, refrigerator or microwave. Ice machine didnt work. Toilet didnt flush Heavy maintenance needs to be done on the entire facility. Needs a health dept inspection. Many more things were awful, but I think you get the picture. Stay somewhere, anywhere else. Front desk said I would get an adjustment to the room charges due to no TV, but on checking out the staff informed me that the manager denied it. So no rebate as promised. read more

This place is horrible. I wouldn't recommend them to a homeless person. Staff is very unprofessional. Especially Lyca. I went to ask about the no hot water in the room and backed up toilet for 3 days. They didn't have maintenance service available. Asked to relocate to another room, but claimed there were non-available. But there were 3 empty rooms. I asked to speak with the manager, and she said she wasn't available. I asked for her phone number, and she gave me her card. She went into the back office and called the manager and was yelling in her native tongue, Tagaloa, and came out with the manager on speaker phone the manager said they have no rooms and that he can leave. We walked away. There rooms have water damaged to the roof and the piece of the ceiling fell off in the middle of the night. Now they kicked him out and put him on the do not rent list because they fail to provide service. They have so many Health Violations. Department of Health will be notified. read more

I booked this stay through Priceline. When I checked in, the heater in my room did not work. I reported it to the front desk, and they sent a staff member who told me to "hit it every few minutes" to keep it running. That was not a real fix, and the room remained freezing. I asked to be moved to another room, but I was told none were available. Because the room was uncomfortably cold and uninhabitable, I had to book another hotel at a different location the same night. I requested a refund due to the lack of heat, but it was denied. When I contacted Priceline, I was told the property refused the refund and also "banned" me from renting there in the future. read more

I booked this property on Booking.com and the pictures on the website was NOT what the property was in reality. It was dark, dingy, inside passageways were blocked, forcing me to walk in the dark around the outside perimeter of the building (which was next to a sketchy industrial park) to access my room. My room did not have a working lock and the chain lock was broken. Front desk person was rude and promised me a refund, which I have yet to see. On a recent business trip to SF, I had to book a room for just one night. Online, this seemed like a very nice hotel at a great rate. It doesn't have conveniences like a small fridge or microwave, but all I needed was a decent place to sleep. Upon arriving, the lobby was mainly closed off from foot traffic and only the front desk was accessible. Check in process was fairly easy and I requested for a room with easy parking lot access. Spaces are first come first served. Luckily I got one fairly close to the room. A standard queen room is small. Small TV, a chair by the window, a desk for work, an area to hang your clothes and a typical bathroom. Photos show an updated modern room. But up close details show chipped paint, cracked door, patched up holes and other minor imperfections Being a smoke free property, there's nothing to stop people from hanging out by their door and smoking, with the smell traveling a few rooms down right into mine if I open my door. Nearby, a few food places like Popeyes, Togo, Denny's, Sunk in' Donuts ... etc. Starbucks is 5 minutes away inside a gas station, and their staff has the least personality of all the ones I've been to. There's nothing special about this property. It borders an industrial business on the other side of the fence. I also don't feel it's really family friendly so I wouldn't have my kid stay here. But being very close to the freeway made this an easy choice for my needs. Good for a budget stay. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Got locked out the room at 4am last night and front desk was closed. They had a sign on the door to call a phone number in case this happens, But it was not a valid number. Luckily the hotel across the street was able to book us in one of their rooms after seeing how hysterical I was. All of our stuff was in the room we were locked out of. The next morning, We go to the front desk and the person working there could careless. She told us to call from the room to talk to the manager but of course we still haven't heard back from management at all. When we got back into the room, we noticed the bathtub was filled with dirty water and what looked to be ash. DISGUSTING. Hair in the shower, crumbs all over the floor, old gum on the floor. I didn't even want my outside shoes on the carpet. I had to take off my comforter, because there was a blood stain in the comforter. When I went and asked for a blanket at the front, I was given a sheet to use because they didn't have any blankets. We are in December.... So using sheets to stay warm was just great. No picture of that one since I didn't want to touch it again. I'm super bummed because each night I dreaded coming back to the hotel to sleep, as I was just disgusted by the state of my room. I would have been better staying at a motel 6. Be careful when you check in this hotel. they will rip you off. They will just charge your card even if you didn't cause any damage. The big fat Lady named Cris who happens to be the receptionist charged my card for a 100 bucks even though I didn't cause any damage in the hotel. I never complain about the cleanliness of the hotel and most of their housekeeping are not willing to clean the room but this time hope the owner will do something about it. I accidentally spill an ice cream on the towel and bedsheet which is washable and she just took 100 bucks on my card immediately and put all the blame to the manager that the manager orders to get the money on my card. It is very unfair and unprofessional of what the Receptionist did to us. I was trying to talk to her nicely but all she does is wait for the managers reply. And ignores all my concerns. Stayed here only because Marriott rooms were very expensive the week I was coming to town. Why are they charging 100 deposit when this is a dirty nasty unsafe hotel!!! Probably the worst experience ever. I should have known when I called before staying and the guy at the front desk answered the phone with "hello?" it would be a bad experience. The first room they gave me had a TV that didn't work properly. I called the front desk and they didn't answer. I walked back to the lobby and told the same front desk guy, and he gave me a new room. In the new room, the A/C didn't work. When I called the front desk again, no one answered. I walked back to the front desk and they gave me another room...the A/C didn't work. Again, no answer when I called the desk. I walked back and they said they will find me a room that is functional. I sat in the lobby for 20 minutes before they found one. The TV was tiny (see picture), and the room obviously hasn't been tended to in months. The ice machine near me didn't work and the vending machine...I'll let you look at the pictures. And to top it all off, when I went to the front desk in the morning to drop off my keycards, the office was empty with all the lights off. Need I say more? read more

If you're looking for something to just sleep in without having to spend too much then this is the place. This hotel gives off more of a motel vibe. Our room had a faint smell of smoke just lingering around. If anyone is smoking around or eating something you can definitely smell it in your room. Spraying the room helped a bit. The room itself is fairly decent though. For what we needed and paid for on this trip we couldn't complain but most likely will not be returning. read more

Flying in or out of SFO, need a night or so to stay, but want a decent place for cheap? Park Pointe Hotel is a good value compared to the other hotels and motels in this area. I stayed here for a weekend during COVID-19, and the rate was such a steal that I felt bad because the hotel workers were quite responsive. I wouldn't expect anywhere near a pampering you get in higher star hotels, but if you have a practical problem or concern, it'll be addressed pretty quickly. When we checked in, it looked like our air conditioning wasn't working, and their maintenance worker came up within minutes to fix it. Also, when we needed extra towels, someone came in within minutes as well. So, for service, they get a big plus! Amenities - Free wi-fi, free parking (you need to put the hotel permit ideally behind your rear view mirror), air conditioning unit on side of room, small-ish television monitor with not that great color settings or resolution, and basically had no channels. I think it only had like, five channels - a couple of which were a foreign language. Fortunately, we brought an HDMI connector and hooked up my laptop for entertainment on a slightly bigger screen. There is no microwave or mini fridge, but they can provide them at additional cost. They have a cardio workout room with three things - a cycling machine, a sit up bench, and a weightlifting machine - not bad! Room - I was in a queen room on the second level, facing the parking lot. The room is fairly small - basically the bed takes up most of the room, but it is modernized and cozy. There's a lot of natural lighting if you wish, but at the cost of privacy. It looks like your view will either be of the parking, or of the garden in the center of the hotel. Windows are large and guests walk right by a lot of times, and you can clearly hear them due to a gap under the room doors. Because of the door gap, a couple of small flies made it into the room, but we just shooed them away eventually. The bed is extremely firm and has three small, flat pillows. The blankets are thin and rather stiff. So, not a comfortable bed experience, but I was able to sleep soundly regardless, and at least it felt clean. On a positive note, the bedside tables were very functional and convenient, as well as the lighting and outlets. Bathroom - Toilet and shower tub are in a small room, sink and mirror are outside. The ventilation in the bathroom did not seem to operate. The water pressure was excellent, though! Very high water pressure with several settings made for nice, quick showers. The bath towels were thin and small, however, and not enough to do a full body wrap. Area - This hotel is currently next to a Chinese buffet (King Sun Buffet), across from a Popeye's and Dunkins', and really close to Grand Avenue, which is South San Francisco's downtown and city hall area with a lot of good restaurants. The other hotel guests seemed to be people who also wanted a thrifty stay... I saw a few smoke on the balcony even though I'm not quite sure if that was allowed. Park Pointe Hotel is a good value if the rate continues to be cheaper among its neighboring competitors. I feel bad rating it two stars, because if the price is one of the cheapest in the area, then it's actually a good deal; however, I've given subjectively better hotels three stars. There was questionable cleanliness on the floor, walls, and door - I couldn't tell if some marks were just dated scuff marks or if they were from a previous guest and should have been easily cleaned. Also, the bathroom shower bars and closet bars were rusted. The outside areas aren't that clean as well, and the garden area was more like a pathway through a park with random wild bushes, trees, and insects. If you want a quick stay at a decent place in this area and don't care about being in a cheap motel, this place is not that bad! read more

You get what you pay for so Park Pointe isn't bad for a traveler need a quick few hours of rest or a shower. We needed a place to shower and rest for a few hours before our flight at SFO. We did the Spartan Stadium Sprint yin the morning so had a few hours to rest and shower before our flight. Park Pointe was the most affordable. About $65. The room isn't too bad, yes the rug lacked, but the bed, shower, sink, and room did the job. My friends and I were able to get cleaned up, we had dinner and then returned our rental car for our flight at SFO. We were able to check in right after lunch at 130pm as well. No wifi. Clean bed sheets, towels and nice amenities. Plenty of parking and checking in was easy. read more

I had the worst experience between 9:15 am and 10:00 am on 07/18/2024 I went to the front desk and no one was there I called many times between 9:20am and 10:20 am so I can extend my stay but no one answered and on my way back to my room I noticed someone smoking weed with a white dog on the side of the hotel and come to realize when I came back to the front desk at 10 am it was open and come to find out it was the front desk worker that was smoking weed with their white dog between 9:20 am and 10am on 07/18/2024 when i spoke to her , her voice sounded like slurs I don't know how that's acceptable but that's very unprofessional especially when you have to speak to the guest. read more

Don't book or stay at this hotel!!! This hotel doesn't even deserve one star, and should not be in business. Lobby is never open: even during office hours of their sign describing from 7am to 11pm. We checked in at 3pm. My wife left the key card at the front desk so that I could pick it up from the front desk later. They said they would be here until 9:30pm. So I came back to the hotel at 08:50pm to pick up the key. But the entrance door was closed and no one in the lobby; the sign said "Front desk will be back shortly." Four other groups of guests and I waited for hours in the chilly San Francisco weather since 9 O'clock. But no sign of human presence inside the lobby while the lights were on. read more

Would be 5 stars for the great value, except for three problems that each knocked off a star. First, the toilet paper roll was broken and the roll was barely held on. See pictures in this review. Second, the shower head shot water out like daggers. I almost got injured. Thankfully, the ice bucket was nearby, so I used that for my first-ever bucket-shower. See picture. Third, the alarm clock was behind by 10 minutes and could not be reset to the correct time. See picture. Yeah, this place was a disaster when I stayed there six months ago - I've stayed in A LOT of hotels, and this is neck-and-neck for title of the worst experience; I would have left immediately, but it was like 2 in the morning when I arrived. The outer wall holding the shoddy AC unit is literally just painted plywood and 2x4's - No insulation or inner wall. This place is little more than a semi-furnished $111 cave with boards covering the outside - but you wouldn't know it by the amount of sound and light coming through the door that lacked any weather stripping entirely. The actual manager, Andre, I'm told "only comes in when he wants to," is not reachable by phone ever, and the on-staff employees like, Chandra, claiming to be management in my experience can be the most hostile and uselessly belligerent kinds of assistance imaginable. After my first terrible $111 night with only 5 hours of sleep possible in such a loud and hideous "renovated" room that smelled like marijuana, the 22 minute "argue-sation" with Chandra ended with me receiving my money back for the second night yet to be stayed, and me leaving to stay in Sacramento. Our conversation began to go off the rails halfway through though, when, Chandra, in so many words told me that I wasn't obligated to stay again for the second night, but that I'm not receiving my money back for the second night - because I'd already paid for it. Then I was told that if I don't leave the lobby now, she was going to call the cops. When I explained how extortion worked, and began to call the cops for her, she gave me my money back for the second night; no discount for the first though. She gave me Andre's name, told me to call him about the first night, and I left to try and enjoy San Francisco. I tried to get a hold of him to regale my experience for six months - at this point, I don't think he really ever existed. If you absolutely have to save money, and don't mind staying in what looks like any $22 per night motel anywhere else for $111, this place has the goods. My room was complete with either blood or lipstick on the wall, mold on the "only-scolding-hot-water" shower ceiling, the toilet handle was on the floor and non-working, and the electrical outlets were either broken or covered in furniture - oh, and the door with no weatherstripping had a large enough space between the jam to see through, so bring something to place against the door to keep it covered and closed to feel some semblance of safety. I used their nasty chair for security. Before you say it, Andre, I'll never give your hotel another chance. Neither should, you, the studious reader. Just pay the money somewhere else. Trust me, it's worth it. San Francisco is way better when you don't start it arguing with impossible people about nonsense. read more

I am in disbelief with how this hotel looked in person. It is nothing compared to the pictures they have online or on yelp. Not only did the building looked very old on the outside, but the rooms were disgustingly dirty. The bed sheets had stains on them and had hair all over the mattress. I cannot even explain how dirty the bathroom and bathtub were. As soon as we saw how dirty it was we immediately went to the front desk and asked for our money back. The price was very cheap- if I am not mistaken it was $120 for two nights. Then again, look at the quality of the hotel we got. My family and I checked in here only to be given a room that was not yet made. As we walked into our room, the trashes were full and bed was not made and with stains. I had my brother call the front desk to inform them and they quickly moved us to a new room. As we arrived to our new room, I called housekeeping to ask for a few towels and the gentleman at the front desk replied, "umm you can pick it up here in the front or if you want to wait 30 minutes I will bring it to you". Thought that was a bit weird being told to pick up my own towels but I guess I shouldn't expect too much from a place like this. We settled in pretty well until about an hour in, I noticed a towel under/behind the toilet. I'm guessing there was some sort of leak that they thought could be fixed by just placing a towel. Decided not to make another complaint because we're really only here for one night before our flight in the morning. However, there are so many things that this place really needs to improve on and I'm hoping those who read this have better luck. Or better yet, find another hotel along this street because there are plenty others that most likely have better plumbing and rooms that are clean. read more

Even though I reserved 2 nights at the hotel AND called her in advance to let her know that I will be checking in the morning after the check in date, she gave up my room to another customer. She informed me unapologetically, and in a very sarcastic manner because she wanted to start a conflict with me. She turns around and tells me to not be rude to her. She reminds me of those bullies in school whose never receive a hug. Karen lives a very bitter existence. Nonetheless, I'm glad that I got my refund after reading these comical reviews of this ridiculous place. It feels as though I dodged a bullet. The hotel looks creepy even in daylight. It's my second time staying here. Free shuttle to and from the airport. Free parking! It's hard to find in sf area which is a plus! It's been recently upgraded with new sinks and sheets. Last time I stayed here which was about a year ago, their sheets and towels were not all that clean but this time they're much cleaner! Front desk lady is much nicer than the one we got last time too. Free coffee or tea in the lobby. The famous new England lobster place is just down the street, about 5 min drive.
