I've been working with Ilana for about 6 months now, and I can confidently say that I'm very happy with the services she provides. I have a rescue dog, so inevitably there have been many challenges associated with that. Ilana and her walker Alfonso have been beyond accommodating and patient in helping me work through all the anxiety and separation issues with my sweet boy. They are also extremely flexible and accommodating in terms of their scheduling. Every time I've needed a sitter or walker last minute, they've been able to come through. I agree with the other reviewers that Ilana is professional, responsive and reasonable as well. I've had some feedback for her a couple of times and she accepted it maturely and worked with me to make sure that everything was working smoothly and up to my expectations. As far as my walker, Alfonso, I believe he deserves his own stellar review. I like to call him a gentle giant, because although he is very tall and potentially intimidating to some, he could not be more caring and loving with my sweet boy. He always makes sure to reach out whenever anything seems unusual with my dog and he has been instrumental in working with me to determine how best to mitigate my dog's anxiety. How have I never written a review for Park Slope Pups?! Ilana and her crew are the only people we really truly trust with our two neurotic rescue dogs and crotchety old senior kitty. Case in point: I thought they weren't available one weekend and thought I'd try out the Rover app to find a dog sitter. Long story short, dude never showed up. Ilana took my panicked phone call and was able to find a staff member to come by super last minute to stay with my animals all weekend. I learned my lesson, I felt such a sense of relief. We've been using them for years and can attest to their reliability. Best of all, though, it's abundantly clear that these people are real, true dog lovers and animal lovers in general. They love your animals like you do, even if your animals are big weirdos or special needs. The prices are on par or better than similar businesses in the community. My puppy Hudson loves ilana and her walkers! We've been with her since we moved to park slope and her team has taken great care of Hudson on his daily walks! I've also boarded Hudson with her during vacation and I can tell by the way he pulls towards her apartment that he loves it there! They also help reinforce the training you are working on (eg no jumping ) and have recommended a great trainer when we needed one. The only thing is I wish she would take Venmo or PayPal since we are so used to electronic cashless methods now, but it's a small thing compared to the great care she provides! read more

I am so thankful to have found Ilana & her crew! Highly recommend them. Walks: I've been using one of her dog walkers, John, for months now and he is so wonderful with my senior toy poodle, Leo. He comes around the same time everyday, walks Leo for a half hour, and leaves me a note about the walk. Very accommodating as well, and my dog loves him! Boarding: I just had Leo stay with Ilana for dog boarding these past few weeks, and that was a tremendous success as well. She is a natural with dogs, and I immediately felt at ease leaving Leo in her care. Being a senior dog, he needs special care and had some medications he needed to take twice a day. She was able to handle all of his needs, no problem. She sent me photo and text updates while I was gone and was happy to humor my pining for Leo from afar by sending updates on request! When I picked Leo up, I could tell he was smitten with her. For once, I look forward to the next time I have to leave Leo behind for boarding, because I'm sure he will have a wonderful time. read more

The occasional last minute changes we've had to make in plans for walking or boarding have been easily accommodated. She's had the same two walkers for a couple of years now. I absolutely love Park Slope Pups! I got a dog about 3 months ago, and live in the area. Since she was a rescue, I was really hoping for a more authentic, community driven dog walking/boarding experience as I did not want to re-traumatize her with crating and a high amount of dogs. Right out of the gate, their team was so personable and welcoming. Stevie (my dog) absolutely loves her dog walkers, and I truly appreciate the updates and notes they provide after their walks. As for boarding, Stevie gets to do things at a more private level with limited dogs, and even gets outside of the city which has been such a luxury! I could not recommend them more, and will continue to use them throughout my time in Park Slope. read more

We adopted our pup, Ollie, in April 2014 and have used Ilana services for daycare and boarding ever since. He has some separation anxiety issues stemming from being a stray (and possibly abandoned) before coming to us, so daycare was the best option so he could be around people and dogs while we are at work. Ilana has always been flexible with scheduling, both in terms of pickup/dropoff, and last minute scheduling. Now we can leave Ollie for the day without worrying, knowing that he's going to have a great day full of walks, playtime with other dogs, and plenty of cuddles. I've used Park Slope Pups for over a year now and couldn't be happier. We called Ilana on short notice after our dog adoption was processed and she was able to set us up with a regular walker within a day. Since then, they've been nothing but reliable even in the worst of weather situations. Ilana and all of the walkers are crazy dog people like us, and it's very comforting knowing that our pup will be in good hands when we leave for the day. We also used the dog boarding service for a weekend and Ilana was very accommodating. It was great knowing Lucy wouldn't be tucked away in a kennel all night, and instead getting to play with people and dogs alike. I cannot enough amazing things about Ilana. We call her Sami's other mom since she's been taking care of him since he was 10 weeks old and he loves her so much. Runs-down-the-street-when-he-realizes-where-we're-going loves her. If you're looking for someone who will care for your pup like a crazy park slope dog mom, this is your lady. The amount of care and love she puts into her work is amazing. Ilana is super communicative and professional (while also being fun to talk to and hilarious). She always asks what Sami and I are working on so she can keep his training consistent and gives me regular reports on his potty accidents so we can see if he's doing worse at potty training at daycare and adjust. (Good news - he's not!) Her rates are super reasonable for the hours and the care she offers. If you're considering daycare, this is the place. Your only worry will be that your pup likes daycare better than your house! Sami loves it and now has friends (like Solomon the pug) that he plays with non stop all day. This is great for socialization (Sami is now amazing with other dogs) and also for my sanity, because he comes home calm and we can chill instead of pulling his mouth off furniture every two minutes. I've been using PSP for a few months now, and honestly - they're the only dog caring service I trust. I'm comfortable giving them my keys, letting them into my home, and leaving them with my fur baby. A walk is always geared towards what is best for the puppy, whether a shorter one in hot weather or a little longer when it's cooler. They're mindful of making sure the safety and health of your puppy is first, not to mention that the pup is beyond happy to see her open the door. Not to mention the updates if something went amiss, when you were not home (such as a puppy accident) and they'll help out and clean it up. Amazing, truly. Pricing is beyond fair, and they're so flexible, a true lifesaver at times. I recommend them to everyone. read more

Ilana has watched our dog Tobias a few times, once when we first got him and again this month. I really like that when he stays at her place he isn't in a cage and he gets to socialize with other dogs all day and go out on walks. I also liked that when we dropped him off this last time he went into to her arms, no problem. Apparently our dog is one of their favorites, and I trust that he gets plenty of affection when he's there. Ilana and her team deserve 5 billion stars. We've been working with Ilana since our Shiba Inu; Uni was 10 weeks old and now he's almost 3 years old. Uni goes to Park Slope Pups for his weekly daycare and he cannot be more thrilled and excited to meet Ilana every single time. I just know how much love and care Ilana gives to my dog as we once ran into her during a walk and Uni just could not control himself out of pure excitement! Ilana was on a bike that day and Uni just immediately wanted to follow her when she took off. (It took me 15 minutes to convince him that he has to go home with me and couldn't follow her.) Uni is very social for a Shiba Inu and I honestly think that Park Slope Pups has taught him from the very beginning how to play and to be around with other dogs. Ilana and her crew are the most reliable dog walkers I have ever hired. I am extremely nervous about other people taking care of my dog but I haven't had a single worry since my rescue pitbull has been in their care. They are extremely attentive to my dog and her specific needs and I'm always certain that she was walked patiently and safely. They also give her a little bit of play time right after each walk which is fantastic. Ilana is a responsive/responsible business owner and is always sure to let me know if anything is out of the ordinary with my dog's routine or behavior. Update: We moved to Washington Heights from Brooklyn and will still take that hour subway ride to board our puppies. They really are the best. I have a cute little westie puppy who gets so excited every time we get near Park Slope Pups because he loves going there so much. We've boarded him at another place for one night and he had the worst time ever. he was all alone in a kennel (which is normal) but took it very hard and refused to eat. But when he gets boarded at Park Slope Pups, he is the happiest puppy. He eats, he plays, and usually comes home exhausted and ready to sleep. We LOVE going there and refuse to board him overnight anywhere else. The hours are great, we can enjoy an evening out and still get him for the night. Ilana is wonderful with him and he loves her so much... I really can't recommend them enough. I just moved to Brooklyn from Atlanta, GA about two months ago. The first thing I did was search for a dog walker for my dog, Hank. I spent about a week researching and decided on Park Slope Pups. I got in touch with Ilana and a few days later she and Alan came by for a meet and greet. Hank loved Alan instantly. Alan has walked Hank daily and watched him for a few days while I was out of town. Setting it up with IIana and Alan was super easy and I didn't think twice about having Alan watch Hank for me while I was gone. I asked him to stay at my place while I was gone so Hank wouldn't be alone all night. Alan was great about giving me updates and my home was just as I left it. Ilana and her team of puppy players are my pug's new best friends. She's very sweet and easy to schedule with and clearly loves dogs. I'm a new dog owner and I have to get over a lot of smothering impulses with my puppy, but I feel good about leaving my puppy's health and safety with them. Whatever it is they do all day, my dog seems happier and more confident when we leave, so I know she gets the exercise and attention she needs. Case in point: my puppy's recent spay surgery coincided with a big project at work and I was faced with a dilemma---leave my (week+) recovering pooch alone and miserable and bored one night or have her stay with Ilana. I'm super glad I did. Not only did my dog get some much needed love and attention, Ilana kept her in a safe activity level and let me know her progress throughout the day. Win+win! Park Slope Pups! I love these guys. I have a very large mastiff, aptly named Titan, and he can be a handful. I'd gone through 2 other walking services who actually ended up dropping me as a client after a few weeks because Titan can be a bit of pain in the neck when he walks. Now I was a little skeptical when I met petite Ilana because I honestly believe my dog weighs more than her! But I was proven way wrong. After 3 months of daily walks, Ilana has actually taught my extra large pup how to walk way more calmly for her and with me as well! The rates are inline with the rest of the dog walkers in the neighborhood but the service is tops! I love the daily updates on Instagram, it's a super easy way for me to check up on my Titan while I'm grinding it out at the office. They've also pulled through for me on many late night last minute walks, which I'm always grateful for. read more

I've been using Park Slope Pups since April 2015 and this is the easiest 5 star review I've ever given. ilana has proven to be flexible, accommodating, and most important loving towards my dog. I'll never forget the second or third time I left my dog there, she posted a picture on instagram of both of them laying in bed and cuddling. We had been looking around for a good within walking distance daycare since we moved to Park Slope. What a blessing we found in Ilana and Park Slope Pups. Our 18 month old cockapoo mix goes there for daycare now and the greatest indication of how good Ilana is, is that when he realizes where we're going, he drags me up the street to her apartment and cries when I pick him up to leave. I ended up dropping PSP to look for another service. We had communication issues and my pup would often get walked 30 mins to an hour outside the time window we asked for. The bathroom door was left open in my apartment from time to time, which is a big problem as my dog loves to get into bathroom trash and spread it all over the apartment. Our baby boy Frenchie has been going to Ilana/Park Slope Pups since he was just a few months old (He's still only 10 months) and we absolutely love them! Leo goes twice a week for daycare and we have also used them for boarding quit a few times. He gets so excited to go every time and never wants to leave Ilana and all his puppy friends so we know he is in great hands. Park Slope Pups is absolutely wonderful! Ilana loves my beagle, John Adams, as if he were her own. She provides the best one on one attention to him, and he always comes home so happy.
