I was a big fan of this place- the grounds are magical, with a splendid setting right on the Atlantic ocean on 500 acres. They have 3 pools, a nice spa with free steam rooms and gym, ocean access (though bring a wet suit!), and two restaurants. I thought service was excellent, and the food in the restaurants was very good. They have a family room (king plus two twins) which was very reasonable and a great option for families. There's lots to do- a game room, tennis courts, walking trails, murder mystery, etc. We really enjoyed our stay, and it was the kid's favorite place in Ireland. Be aware though that the resort is historic, which some would perceive as dated. It's also off the beaten path, with most other dining options some drive away so plan on eating at the hotel a lot. My only other gripe would be that you have to make reservations for the pool, which is kind of a hassle. read more

Upsides: great location and facilities & grounds. Nice and very accommodating staff. Many guests were Irish families which added to the charm. Downsides: it's quite isolated so you can't walk to a local restaurant, pub, cafe etc. Also the majority of the restaurant and bar staff have a very loose grip on English and seem quite ill I formed about the food and drinks like where did the fish come from or what's a good local whiskey. I was concerned coming having not been back since 1979 the last time I visited Ireland. I was wrong to be concerned, the service was exemplary. The day I checked in my tv did not work & there was no heat in my room. I called the front desk at 8:30pm and someone was in my room within 5 minutes. They brought me a heater while they worked on the heating and brought a new cable box & restored the tv immediately. I woke up around 10pm turned off the heater and opened the windows because I was hot. Every employee I have come into contact with has been nice, accommodating and very social. What a great place to visit! I'm usually fairly conservative in spending on hotels, but this was well worth whatever the cost! Several family members have enjoyed the spa & scheduled additional treatments for before we leave tomorrow. Overall: well worth the cost of staying of staying here! read more

Awesome, awesome, AWESOME hotel. We arrived around 2pm and ate a small lunch in their bar room. Very good food but smaller portions. We were able to check out their workout room which is filled with ellipticals, treadmills, a cycle machine, free weights, and several weight machines. It was perfect! The hotel also includes a huge pool with a swim lane for those who want to swim laps. The only downside to the pool is that swim caps must be worn. The hotel sells them for 2 euros a person, but it seems kind of ridiculous. The spa is incredible. The two outdoor hot tubs were perfect after a long day of travel and exploring and offered a great view of the ocean. Inside the spa, several saunas with different aromatherapy options are offered for adults. The hiking trails around the hotel are great too and the golf course- even in March- is worth playing a few holes. We got our golf for free since the hotel was not prepared for people wanting to golf in such a rainy season but renting clubs, tees, and other golfing essentials, the price stays under €50. The rooms are very nice but our bed was rickety since a wheel was broken on one corner. Our toilet also stopped flushing in the middle of the night and we couldn't get it fixed until the next morning. Also- be sure to turn your air conditioning on before you go exploring or else your room will be sweltering when you come back. Overall great stay. Pretty expensive but dinner and breakfast are "included" and the other amenities are worth it. WiFi can be extremely spotty. read more

We stayed in the villas for one week and enjoyed our getaway. It's not so much about the resort itself as it is about the location and the grounds. The site is just beautiful. Outdoors, there are a number of trails and so many breathtaking views to take in if you love nature. As for the hotel itself, it has an old beauty and charm about it. I love the sitting rooms and enjoying a glass of port while listening to a pianist. The food quality is also excellent. And as for the spa, it is very inviting with an indoor pool and an outdoor hot tub and loads of other fun features to keep you busy on a rainy afternoon! The villas are up a path from the main building; but, they're lovely for families or a group of friends. We enjoyed staying in a two-story, three-bedroom villa with lovely views to take in from every window. And we walked to the main hotel for dinner which is so nice if it's warm and dry outside. There were a few hiccups when we arrived and we had to call the onsite maintenance crew a couple times; but, in the end it was enjoyable overall and a lovely getaway in spite of the rain... Note: The hotel has WIFI available but it's very spotty and not available in the villas. We had to pick up a signal by walking from room to room in the main hotel until we finally made a connection. But, hey, if you're there to get away, put the smart phone away too...! read more

This review is specifically for the spa: I visited the spa with my best friend for multiple vacay de-stress treatments. Although the facility is lovely and modern, my experience was less than lovely. My treatment room was freezing. As I had a coconut scrub that required showering and then a massage, I spent two hours shivering. I did ask my therapist to increase the heat but the temperature never altered. My ice cold limbs and chattering teeth definitely detracted from my ZEN experience. After my treatments, I was eager to use the thermal spas and sauna. Unfortunately, two families with children were using the pool. One of the children was extremely loud and unsupervised. His mother clearly thought Junior's snot and poo-poo's should be bronzed and enshrined because she beamed at him while I was gritting my teeth from his nails-on-chalkboard like screeching. I alerted the staff about the Zen-shattering annoyance but they were as unresponsive as my deep-freeze therapist. My best friend had the Indian Head Massage and was completely disappointed. She said there was no massage in the Indian Head Massage, just a whole lot of oil slathering. When we spoke to the manager about the disappointing head massage she again shrugged it off. In an email later she conceded that "perhaps the brochure is misleading as it's not quite a massage." Again, lovely facilities but the flaccid staff and disappointing treatments make it not worth the Euros. Other comparable facilities offer more peace for your Peso, more calm for your cash. read more

Caitlin in spa did fabulous facial and body wrap. She explained everything and was very caring. Reviewed products at end. Comfort was 100%. Great spa rooms. Relaxing after spa meditation room and sauna with gorgeous views. Skipped the pool way too many children. Overall loved it. Pricey but I think worth it. Outside of Dublin, Kerry is easily my favourite county. It's simply stunning. I've stayed in several very nice hotels around the area in the last year or two and I think this might be my favourite. I was here for a wedding of a good friend, so I am a little biased but the hotel itself was fantastic. The grounds/walks on the coast are worth it alone. Staff, food and facilities were all excellent. Try the outdoor jacuzzi, brilliant. Price wise as well it is very affordable for what's on offer. read more

Parknasilla Resort & Spa is a great place to go for a fantastic break I enjoyed going here the staff there are fantastic and the surrounding places are great and always full of life! I would like to go here again though in the future it is a awesome break away to get pampered! I travel abit and right now I am in Dubai in a place called the Sapphire Villa and this is a beautiful Villa NOT TOOOO expensive and worth a look the villa is amazing check them out... read more
