They even have a drop off laundry service - one large-ish bag of clothes washed, dried and folded for 28 Euro - so helpful when you pack for two weeks in a carry-on! I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. If you are staying in Killarney area, this is close to Ross Castle, Muckross House, the Abbey, and is actually on the "Ring of Kerry" drive path. Easy day trip to Dingle from here as well! Stay at the Lake Hotel, on the lake, and you won't regret it.

Our room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. We also loved the cozy little bar and the comfortable lounge areas, which were perfect for enjoying a drink and relaxing after a day of exploring. Overall, this was a lovely hotel with a welcoming atmosphere and excellent staff. We would absolutely stay here again when we return to Killarney!

Breakfast was fine with a number of hot selections available along with the standards at the buffet counters. The location was quite, very close the sites of interest and close enough to walk to town if you want and it had parking included. I'd stay here again if the occasion arises.

The decor is soooo Irish-British ... think lots of florals, wallpaper, and patterned carpets. The building itself is super cool ... you'll never see anything like this in America. There is an elevator (or lift) but you still may have to walk up a few extra stairs. It's like a labyrinth with two rooms here, four there, steps up or down and hallways going here and there. Super cute. Our room was surprisingly large. Everything was clean. The bed was super comfortable. I slept great. In-room coffee, not good. Breakfast was included in our stay. There were plenty of options as well as a buffet table set up with cheeses, meats, pastries, fruit and the sort. However, my husband's omelette was not so great (greasy). My breakfasts were both fantastic. And the coffee in the restaurant was good, phew!

Our full experience from the hotel, to the restaurant to the pub was just okay. The hotel has a great location, directly on the main street in Killarney's city center, so location and access to shops, pubs and eateries was top notch. Location was probably our favorite thing about this hotel. While the hotel touts being luxury, it missed the mark for us as we would not describe any of our experience, the outlets and certainly not the rooms as "luxury". The rooms had fairly updated furnishings and a nice bathroom. We were in a room that featured a queen/full and a twin. There was alternative seating and a table, which is always nice and beats having to sit on the bed the entire time in the rooms. I appreciated the functional windows as well. Odd how many hotels do not have AC or windows that can open. The lobby and interior restaurant and bar were quite dated and did not match the overall vibe the rooms and Scotts bar created. Felt very disjointed in overall vibe and decor from public spaces to rooms. Speaking of the interior restaurant and bar, this was our least favorite meal and dining experience while in Killarney. We did breakfast and dinner, both of which were not that great. Food quality and service was lack luster for us. On the flipside, Scotts Bar was pretty solid for a pint and cocktail each night. We always made our way to the bar upon our return to the hotel each night, enjoyed each time we bellied up to the bar. Service at the front desk was also a bit disappointing. Arrival was okay, departure was quick and uneventful, but anytime we needed assistance outside of arrival/departure, it seemed like we were a bother. Situation with getting our of the garage with the provided ticket proved to be more of a hassle than need be. Instead of being assisted, the Front Desk Agent seemed accusatory and dismissive to our claim that the ticket provided was not working. Overall, we enjoyed the location, room and Scotts Bar, everything else was "meh". Biggest win for Scotts Hotel is definitely the location, which in itself makes for a good time when in Killarney. Hopeful they can address the service concerns and give the interior spaces a refresh, as those would both be definite wins.

The weather is definitely cold so bring a jacket as the temperate can dip. The hotel itself has this rustic vibe to it which we really enjoy. It's a good mixture of old and new as the picture of the staircase with carpet has the old school feeling I enjoy. Keep in mind when you walk into your room the lights won't work unless you insert your room key into the slot provided by the door. After which the lights will work. The hotel restaurant is very good, I enjoyed my lamb plate and my wife enjoyed her pizza as well. Moderately priced food nothing over the top and I can recommend the lamb for sure. The people here are extremely nice and friendly so ask them any question and they'll be happy to answer. Enjoy your stay.

She was amazing, so proffesional and helpful! We were worried that we would have no place to stay. That did not happen. All the staff were great. The bed was pretty comfy and I did not love the pillows. The hotel looks like it could use some TLC and some updating. Our room smelled a bit musty and my allergies were in high gear from that. The light fixture was hanging out of the ceiling rather than it being placed inside the socket for the fixtures in the ceiling. Seems liek anx3asy enough fix to take care of. It was pretty loud there where you could hear everything inclusong people talking in the hallway or walking up the stairs. There is an elevator. They warned us there was an 80's dance night happening and it would be loud. It was quite loud. They provided ear plugs but they did not help much. We did get some sleep. The room cost about $220 which I thought was expensive for the room quality. The breakfast buffet was good and the food was yummy. It was in an excellent location. Walking distance from the bus and train stations. So close to town and all the great shops. It is right across the street from the botanical gardens. We lost our EU adapters during our travels some how for our phones. They loaned us some so we could charge our phones. I love that they had a box of them to loan out. No fridge in the room. In fact most of the hotels in Ireland do not offer that. The room had a tea kettle with tea and a chocolate bar. We would stay here again but may be more specific about the room we choose if we could do that and check to see if they are having music and dancing.
