I happened upon Parkside Cleaners as they had the best reviews and ratings on Yelp far and above the other cleaners in the city/county boundaries I'd set for my search. Walking in, everything was clean and wide open. The racks of clean clothes fill the space behind the service desk. They're neatly arranged and sorted; it looks more like a department store of sorts than cleaners. They're neatly arranged have a small area partitioned off which appears to be a dressing room near a sign that states they offer alterations. The two women, sisters, who work the counter are both extremely friendly and pleasant. My first visit was dropping off a navy wool pea coat that I'd actually never had cleaned, but after spilling a large coffee on myself one day, it was pretty much forced. I've had two white dogs the whole time I've owned this coat, so let's just say it showed . When I picked it up, not only had they gotten all the coffee stains out, it looked better than brand new !!! I'll admit that I was worried about the paying upfront when I dropped off, but it was completely worth every penny!!! I'll be bringing more cleaning here very soon! read more

I agree that Parkside does excellent work. However, I took cleaning in this week and was advised that i had to pay for my cleaning up front. I have been patronizing this cleaners for six years and had never missed picking up my clothing. I paid and questioned why I had to pay up front. Unfortunately, this practice makes me feel devalued so I will not be returning. Korean business have enjoyed tremendous support within urban communities. I believe they should punish bad actors and not everyone who patronize their business; if in fact that is what they are doing! read more

Took my uniform pants to them for pressing with starch on Tuesday. Picked them up Friday and they over pressed them on too high of a heat and melted them. Yes literally melted the inside waistband and the pants themselves now have scorch marks all over them.... Update: The owner contacted me shortly after my review and offered reimbursement for my dress. My husband brought my dress back in when got home from work (5:30pm) that day and talked to one of the "owners" over the phone who told him to come back on Monday for a reimbursement check. Later that evening the owner updated his response to me (9:30pm) to only include a refund for the cleaning. When my husband returned on Monday, he was told they wouldn't honor the phone conversation and would only refund the cleaning cost. Two trips to the cleaners later, I can now say they ruined my dress for free. If you're looking for a good cleaners, look somewhere else. Original review: Brought a cream colored dress to be cleaned at this location. The dress had only been worn once to a graduation but had some dirt around the slit in the dress so I took it to be cleaned. When I picked up the dress there was a massive bleach spot at the slit. The dress is ultimately ruined and I was not offered a refund or explanation. The store clerk's response was that it was "impossible" for them to have a bleach spot on the dress and that I probably brought it in that way. I've in no way altered that dress and pointed out the spot as soon as I received the dress. Don't go here. My fiancé dropped off several dresses to be cleaned and altered here. The cleaning was done poorly and her expensive dresses were ruined. Another dress was altered but needed to be fixed. When we brought the dress back in, she was argumentative and said they don't use glue and insinuated that we were lying and that this dress was never dropped off here in the first place. We have a receipt that shows that it was in fact dropped off here and that it was paid for "dress regular tapering". I would not recommend leaving your clothes here. read more

My family patronized this cleaners for a couple of years and was satisfied with their work, until they DESTROYED my silk Antonio Melani blouse. But the problem I have, is the owner/manager refusal to accept responsibility for DESTROYING my blouse. My blouse had only been worn twice before they DESTROYED it. I told & showed the owner/manager my blouse and she became angry and unreasonable. She stated my blouse wasn't silk but satin, even though the label said silk. Being new to the area, I was in need of a new dry cleaner - Parkside Cleaners was easy to find and close enough to where I live; where it wasn't a hassle to get here. Selected this cleaners over others based on my fellow Yelpers and their extensive insight and knowledge (thanks Squad)! Upon entering I was greeted quickly and with a smile. After getting my 10 plus pieces out of my bag, I was quickly told that it would be $6.25 to wash polos; and an additional $1 if I wanted them back next day. (If this would have been the extent of my exchange here; I would have given this place 1 start). Mind you I walked into this establishment around 7:45 AM on a Friday morning. Most cleaners that I have ever been to, if you bring a shirt in by 10:00 AM, getting the garment back next day is a non- issue not for this place, so, I left my dress shirts and took my polos elsewhere. Getting to the point here, even after all that, once I returned next day for my dress shirts, the lady not only remember my name after only meeting here once the day prior, she had my shirts up front waiting for me. Wow - talk about customer service. That exchange in itself will push me to come back here, not to mention the job they did on my shirts (if I wear the shirts and I identify something wrong I will update). The vital ingredient in the relationship with a dry cleaner is trust. Trust that they will take care of and restore valuable belongings, trust that they aren't using environmentally harmful methods, trust that they won't swindle you, and trust that they will deliver what they promise. I brought an embarrassingly worn and dirty trench coat to Parkside Cleaners. It is a beloved (and expensive) item in my wardrobe, so I was nervous about the idea of taking it to the cleaners in the first place. I was promptly and kindly assisted when I arrived; they took note of my directions and honored their advertised discount as well as waive a small mending fee. The management and girl at the front desk couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, and the service was as fast as I needed it to be (with my clothes available the next day). AMAZING!! I had a huge order, over 70 items of pants, shirts, blouses, dresses, suits, and jackets (I just moved and all my things smelled like the had been in a box for 3 months). I was chargd VERY reasonably and a few hours after I dropped off my items I was called and asked if I wanted to have the hem on a few pairs of my pants fixed (they definitely needed it). The repair was perfect and all of my clothes look so good! I was very skeptical about finding a cleaner and I even pulled into the parking lot of some other places and left because they looked pretty sketchy. Service is personable and excellent, they are timely with their turnaround and, best of all, my clothes always look great and never smell like some weird chemical (as I have experienced elsewhere). Once, I came to drop off and found the front desk guy in the parking lot doing his level best to help a woman who had locked herself out of her car. Best cleaners in CWE. I've lived in CWE and used I believe every single dry cleaner business in a mile radius - Central west end cleaners, Tip Top, and the one on West Pine and Newstead. Everyone says Parkside is expensive....but I find the prices to be about the same. While I have not had a problem with any other cleaners, Parkside has the best customer service and timely delivery of my clothes. Other small perk, they resutured my buttons without being told to! When I moved back to St. Louis nine years ago I chose the closest neighborhood dry cleaner. Fortunate for me, it was Parkside Cleaners. Although they were located in a difficult to access location off Taylor and Forest Park, the service they provided was more than worth it. The quality was comparable to the service I had become accustomed to in Washington, DC. Completely satisfied. After moving to STL county a couple years later, because I could not remotely find the same level of service, I would travel half an hour to Parkside, because it was more than worth the time spent on the road. Later, after moving to downtown STL, I still continued to travel; now, across the city, to the location on Lindell... because it is (again) worth it. The level of service Grace, and her staff, provides is second to none. From dress shirts, wool suits, and large, down-filled comforters, I have, over the years, continued to receive the same high-quality service received almost a decade ago. I surmise that, if my next pad was in Kansas City, I'd make a monthly trip back to Parkside for my dry cleaning needs. Without question, the best! The best cleaners I've found yet. I had issues at other cleaners with them messing up my buttons. Some of the nicer shirts I have use real mother of pearl buttons so if you press them they will crumble. They were knowledgeable on the matter and fixed a few buttons for me. Other places wouldn't take responsibility and even said that nice shirts use cheap buttons and that's why they would crumble. Not true. It's that other buttons are plastic so when pressed it doesn't affect them. They also scrub collars and cuffs getting rid of the sweat stains. Most places just run it through the wash and ultimately set the stain. They will also do alterations and they do a fine job. Their prices are a little higher but it's a clear example of getting what you pay for. Not paying more for sub par service. I love this place read more

They are great as a laundry service - I dropped off a bag full of dirty clothes and picked up fresh smelling and folded clothes the next day. If it's your first time, they'll give you a 10% discount. My wife brought in a cream colored dress to be cleaned at this location. Upon receiving the dress on a Friday morning, she noticed a bright white spot on the dress that was not there when she brought it in. When my wife notified the the cashier about the spot, she was told that it was impossible anything they did added the spot to the dress because they don't use bleaching products and insinuated my wife brought the dress in that way. After speaking to the owner (Joseph O.) via a Yelp DM, where he mentioned that the best thing the business could do was reimburse her for the price of the dress, I brought the dress back to this location for my wife that afternoon in order to get reimbursement. Upon arrival, the cashier immediately went to give me a refund for the price of the dry cleaning. However, I inquired about being reimbursed for the dress because my wife had only worn it once. The cashier then called a woman on the phone in the shop that claimed to be the owner. After a conversation with said woman, I was told that we would be reimbursed for the cost of the dress, but would need to return on Monday to receive a check for the amount. Upon arrival on Monday evening, I was told by a different cashier that her instructions were to only refund us for the amount of the dry cleaning. This time the cashier called Joseph O. on the phone in the shop and we were alerted to the fact that he sent my wife another Yelp DM Friday night at 9:30 p.m. that said he would only refund the amount of the cleaning (clearly after we made arrangements with a different "owner" earlier that day). After telling him about the agreement I had reached with the female owner I spoke to on Friday, he told me he would only do what he said in the last Yelp DM and give us a refund for the dry cleaning. This experience was very troubling because I had brought multiple dry cleaning items to this location in the past and had been impressed by their work and Christian values.
