My drink had good flavor, but the consistency was odd and a bit chunky. I've never ordered an iced latte with small chunks of I assume milk? We were in the area from out of town and this spot is super well located between the conservatory, library, coffee shops and murals, etc! The pros are the friendly staff, the cool art on the walls (tons to look at!) and some creative menu options/deals like a weekday $13 lunch deal or $50 three course meal for 2. The downsides- we sat by the door and it was quite cold, I think it's because we were by the door/a drafty window but I noticed space heaters throughout the space. My husband and I both ordered the BLT and while it was good, it wasn't special- the Roma tomato were small coin-sized slices and the romaine lettuce was the yellow, small inside pieces. I thought this sandwich would be a lot better with a thick sweet tomato slice and leafy green lettuce. For some reason, the fries and breakfast potatoes were taking a long time to come out of the kitchen. Our server apologized, but they came out after the rest of the meal and I overheard a server telling the next table it would be at least 30 mins for another order to come out. When they came out, they were cold. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing (the breakfast plate that the folks next to us had looked good) but I left a bit disappointed in my meal. We were greeted, given menus, and invited to pick any table as soon as we walked in. Our server was very friendly and helpful and the food came out nice and quick. My friend was able to customize her power bowl with a different protein, which was super nice. It's not a huge menu, but a lot of things sounded great! I appreciated the variety in mocktails too and both of ours were delicious! The weather was starting to get a little rough when we stopped in so we didn't get to use it but there was a little patio with outdoor seating as an option, which I always enjoy. Eclectic interior and a nice patio when it's not so hot outside. Our service was a bit slow but we ordered behind a table of I think 20 people so we were fine chatting. I was super impressed with the double decker BLT. The bacon was crispy and had it not it would have been a totally different sandwich. Two of us got a Pita Ham and Cheese and were happy with it. One got a kids ( didn't realize it was kids ) cheese burger. But all said was can I just get a cheeseburger. Being a kids burger it came sin lettuce, pickle or anything on it. Finally made it in here, this has been on my list for quite a while. The interior is quite eclectic with tons of art pieces covering every inch of the walls in here. Love it. Especially the wall of test tubes with dried and artificial flowers. Plenty to look at and keep you entertained. We were greeted right away and invited to pick a spot we'd like to sit at. Our server Joni stopped by immediately. She took great care of us, answered our questions regarding the menu and brought us everything we needed. It is a skill to be so attentive without hovering. After a little difficulty deciding what we would like to eat, I settled on the straw-basil mimosa and the double decker BLT. My friend opted for the blueberry muffin mimosa and the quiche of the day. The mimosas were quite tasty I must say, too bad I had to drive or else I might have gotten another. The double decker BLT was huge. I had to eat it in installments. Was able to meet a friend for brunch, I allowed her to pick out where we could meet and she picked out PPH, and I was happy to get back and check out brunch as well as the inside, which is a very cool decorated space! I had a sake Bloody Mary that was savory and delicious, I got some oysters again since I love them so much, for my main course I had the crab cake Benedict, which was savory, and all around tasty! Although not normally open on Tuesday's they were open for this special event. He pointed out that the "boil" would be dumped in the middle of the table which was covered with paper l Special beer, purple haze, was brought in special from New Orleans was served. We given samples. I enjoyed it as it was a raspberry wheat beer. The manager brought out bowls of "boil". As soon as we ate what we had been served he brought more. Very generous servings. We decided to have raspberry cheesecake and coffee both were excellent. This is a local establishment and many people lived near by. They brought us into their neighborhood and treated us as though they knew us. We were told that next month will be a wine/dinner. This was last weekend for devour Indy so my husband and I decided to try the devour menu. To drink, I ordered the mango Rita with popping boba, fruity and tasty. For our first course, we got the crabcakes which were amazing! Second course, I ordered the barbecue ribs with zucchini and mashed potato's, it was delicious and had a bit of spicy zest for flavor. Our waiter was personable and talked us through the menu, going above and beyond to comp our drink when the others we wanted were out. It took 30 minutes to get our food. My husband really loved his sandwich, for the price they definitely could've given him more chips. The bad the biscuits and gravy was more biscuits served over a bowl of soup they called gravy. It was truly terrible. The absolute worst biscuits and gravy I've ever had. This review is a few days late, as I had the pleasure of attending here on the first opening night - before it was even listed on Yelp. The restaurant has a bit of a low key exterior with a gorgeous interior that feels like being at home, with lots of artwork, plants, and other wall hangings. In a word, the space feels loved. The menu is a bit limited but has something for everyone. I ordered the Flatbread, which is actually served as more of a sandwich than a conventional flatbread. Service was pretty good all things considered, opening periods are always an adjustment. I also got the rainbow sherbet which comes in cute mini martini glasses. I enjoyed both dishes quite nicely, and the flatbread serves well as a leftover. I think that I will be much more inclined to visit Garfield Park and conclude afternoon strolls with a treat at the Parkside! read more

I loved my tacos with a warm corn tortilla & crispy carnitas pork. The vegetable and cheese toppings are fresh. At first glance, I was worried the price was too high for the portion size, but it was actually SO filling. Delicious & reasonably-priced oysters (with pear champagne mignonette) are available in any quantity (no minimum). I love a delicate oyster with an acidic, crispy shallot. I didn't get the biscuits and gravy (Bees and Gees), but my waiter highly recommended it & mentioned that they'd run out that day at brunch because of its popularity. The staff is vibrant & friendly and will likely ask you if you're from the Garfield Park neighborhood. The whole establishment cares significantly about investing in the immediately neighboring community. Both outdoor and indoor seating is available. The indoor seating has several options from couches to hard-top tables to the bar. For alcohol drinkers, beer is on tap, cocktails are made fresh, and there are several wines (red, white, and rose). Outdoor seating is umbrella-covered picnic tables next to raised garden beds. You'll see eclectic art on the walls and can go downstairs to enjoy a small art museum surprise (Imagine Indy Art Gallery). This place did an excellent job with renovating an old building into a popular and appealing community restaurant. Parking in Garfield Park is free, including street spots on Shelby St & other neighboring lots. Feel free to ride the Red Line as the restaurant is steps from the bus stop. You can make a day out of being in the neighborhood, even just along Shelby St, visiting the brewery, French bakery, coffee shop, vintage shops, plant shops, and the oldest park in Indianapolis: historic 128-acre Garfield Park. read more

Ambiance: This place is tucked next to Garfield Park in a mostly resident setting. The place itself has a cool hipster vibe with an eclectic collection of art and waiters that also dress equally so. If you have an ultra-conservative grandmother, may not be the best place but we personally really enjoyed the design. We came around 10am on a Sunday and the place was still fairly empty. Service itself is super friendly and food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. They do have live music featured on certain days around brunch and dinner time so make sure to check their website on the "what's happening" tab! Food: We got the chorizo benedict and andouille sausage po-boy and thoroughly enjoyed both. The benedict eggs were PERFECTLY poached and the chorizo came as a tasty patty which I had never seen before. The andouille meanwhile was nicely crisped and packed with flavor with some bites accented by their housemade pickles. Not a true Lousiana Po-boy but a fun take on it. I did get their fries as well which were a little dense and only once-fried so a little soggy but they were seasoned well with salt, parmesan, and parsley. As some other reviewers have mentioned, the portion sizes are on the smaller side with the benedict being about the size of a large piece of toast with two poached eggs and the po-boy probably measuring a little over 3x6 inches and containing one and a half pieces of split andouille sausage. I think if you're looking to be full/stuffed you'll probably want to get an appetizer as well. We did also get their ube latte and strawbasil matcha latte and they were both delicious with very "honest" and balanced flavors. They are NOT using that artificially-purple and cloyingly sweet ube powder nor are they using that grainy low-quality matcha. I would strongly recommend you go adventurous on their drink menu and give something a try. Overall, this is a great low-key place showcasing vibes, made-to-order quality, and creativity. If you want bargain value, fast cook times, and to be filled to the brim, this might not be the best place for you. Stopped in after looking for restaurants I haven't been to yet and I am glad I did! The food was delicious. Idk who they get their beef from, but it does taste amazing. They have vegetarian and vegan options as well. The Thai Curry soup is one of them, and the flavors in it are very well rounded. It was a slow Thursday afternoon when I went. I was seated immediately (told wherever was fine) and immediately helped after sitting down. I wish I could remember his name, but the server 6/19 around noon was amazing! The overall feel of the restaurant is rustic and hipster. There is a lot of art to look at while you eat and talk. They appear to have a concert series or band at least once a week, as well as other events posted that I will have to check out. I don't say it to be mean, but it was one of the worst lattes I've had. I also got the biscuits and gravy. The two biscuits seemed pretty good but there was way too much gravy to really taste them. The biscuits were hot but the gravy was mostly lukewarm and even cold in some spots. I love this place. The food, the art, the music, the service - it's darn near perfect. The burger and fries were tremendous, especially the fries....they looked like they were hand cut. The food is a little bit pricey, but it's really good. My server had a couple of snafus ringing up my order, but we got it figured out. I had a mocktail that was great....I can't remember the name, but it was kind of a strawberry lemonade concoction. I want to go back and try their brunch. I'm super glad that my partner and I decided to stop for brunch at Parkside Public House! It was an amazing restaurant with amazing vibes. The AMBIANCE was warm, artsy, inclusive, and welcoming. It's the perfect place for Saturday brunch! Upon our arrival, we'd just missed the saxophonist that had performed live in the restaurant from 11a-1p. We were immediately greeted with a smile, and the SERVICE was awesome. Our server was sweet, accommodating, and patient. We had the opportunity to meet the co-owner of the restaurant who was very friendly, enthusiastic, and informative. Also, everything that we ordered came out timely and fresh. Last but certainly not least, THE FOOD. The food was fantastic! I ordered a mocktail called "Pecou Cola" to start. It was cute and tasted like a very cherry handcrafted Cherry cola. It was fire and a must try! For food, I ordered the Crabcake Benny. The Crabcake Benny was tasty, aesthetically pleasing, and just the right amount of food without leaving me feeling sluggish afterwards. Last, I order some Tres Leches to-go. The Tres Leches was yummy. I absolutely adored the sauces used in the dessert. I *may or may not* had gathered the left over sauce with my finger after I finished lol. I would definitely recommend trying this place! My girlfriend and I will definitely be back (with friends next time too!).
