No receipt and thought it was weird, when I asked the (bold bear) guy for my receipt he didn't seem happy and that's when I noticed he over charge me like 13$!!!!!!!! Wow! This place is super deluxe! A great selection of liquor, beer and wine. The cherry is Sam who is welcoming, helpful and friendly.

This is a nice little neighborhood market/liquor store. They have a fairly large array of beverages for the size of the store. Some of the items here are a bit unusual for a smaller store. They have a large variety of iced teas even. The beer and wine selections are pretty vast for a store of this size. Liquor variety is pretty typical. The one thing that does make it unique for this area is the milkshake machine. These are pretty common on the east coast in gas station/convenience stores, but I haven't seen them around here. They have the typical selection of milkshake and smoothie flavors in a frozen cup that you use to put in the machine to get mixed. You select what thickness you prefer and you're on your way with a fresh drink. My son got hooked on this novelty a couple years ago at a truck stop and it's become a tradition when we travel to PA. They also have your typical selection of snacks and some dairy items here. They sell lottery as well. It's located next door to New York Giant Pizza, which they share a small parking lot with. It's probably best to skip coming here after the middle school dismisses for the day, traffic is crazy. read more

this place sucks. Owners are super unfriendly like they are doing you a favor by being open. They watch you suspiciously the whole time you are in their store. The last review is just a hater review. It's a liquor store, it's pretty much the same as any other liquor store. They have a pretty decent selection of alcohol, enough for me to always find whatever I'm looking for if I'm picking something up really quick on my way out. Although, it seems like they close kind of early on some nights. Then again, it's La Mesa and the people in this particular neck of the woods are asleep by 9pm. I've been going to this liquor store since I was a kid (it's close to home and they have lots of candy and snacks), and I've never had any issues with the owners. I'm assuming sometimes the owners keep an eye out for kids who they think might steal(happens pretty often since it's right next to a middle school and the kids come in flocks once school is out). I've never had any issues with them "watching me suspiciously," but then again maybe I'm just not that suspicious-looking. read more

Stopped in to this place recently by happenstance and found it to have a great selection of beer. The attendant there at the time didn't see to care what so ever about the customer they were receiving business from. I gave it another try a week or so later and the customer service was even worse like you were inconveniencing them for some reason. Needless to say found the same shit elsewhere at a lower price with great customer service. Just sayin, if this is your livelihood why not give it your best effort? read more

When you have stuff on the shelf that is among the most popular and in demand whiskey in the world, and it's just collecting dust...that's a sign you're being a bit greedy. read more

Recently completely revamped and remodeled into a higher end liquor store. The selection of bourbon is outstanding. I had a very nice customer service experience there - picking out something special for a birthday, and the manager (?) took a lot of time and care to assist me in selection. Definitely worth a look. read more

As stated in the previous reviews they have a great selection of whiskey but I imagine it's easy to keep the shelves stocked when your mark up is 2-3 times other stores. This place isn't worth checking out unless you want the museum tour of unsold whiskey. read more

Great service! Like that it is open late. Lady behind counter came around and gave personal service and knew her brands. Was in there around 11 on sat and couldn't think of the Deschutes brand name so she recommended a vanilla Porter which is quite good. Will be driving the little bit extra to go here. read more

Untill last night I was always "ok" with this store. The husband was always friendly enough. Not overly friendly but definetly not rude. Then last night happened. I was coming home from work and stopped in to get a pack of ciggerettes and I had to deal with the lady. Who was rude and acted very suspicious of me. (mind you I am there at least three times a week after work and always come in wearing my chef coat and apron still, unless there's a epidemic of chef bandits robbing small liquor stores, I could look less suspicious) I let it go. Then when I got home I couldn't find my wallet. Being as that was the last place I went, I went in to ask if I left it there, the wife was extremely rude, told me she was to busy to look, THERE WAS ONLY ONE OTHER CUSTOMER WHO WAS STILL BROWSING, I asked again and she flat out told me no. Then the husband sheepishly stepped up and looked for me, only to be what seems like berated by his wife in Chaldean for helping me. Turns out I dropped my wallet outside the store and was lucky to recover it. But the point was still, the rudest, most inconsiderate customer service I've ever seen. I manage a kitchen and would never allow one of my employees to act like that to a customer. The only reason they get two stars is because of the husband who seemed like he risked castration by helping me, helped me. Regardless I'll never be back. read more

Absolutely awesome to be able to order liquor delivery, I am a fan. The driver seemed scared or angry or I don't know what so it left me with a relatively bad taste in my mouth UNTIL I had the first shot of tequila I didn't need to drive to the liquor store to get and all was forgiven! Yesterday, I stopped by to buy some beer and my wife asked me to pick up milk and creamer as well. While I was out hiking today, my wife discovered that the milk was already sour, even though the sell by date was 01/05/2012. Unfortunately, she poured it out. I do not know about you, but I cannot afford to waste nearly $5.00 on sour milk, so I did what I could to recover the cost and returned the container. Much to my dismay, upon arrival at the store their first reaction was to say that I didn't even buy it there. I am extremely disappointed that they were not willing to take this issue up with the First Street Milk distributor. Even if they had recompensed me and the distributor refused to recompense them, they would have lost a lot less than the $4.59 or so that I lost. Instead they have lost me as a customer. read more

Wonderful store! I work a few minutes from their location, but decided to take an alternate route home when I stumbled upon this store. The outside is deceiving - one of the largest selections I've seen in a store in that area. Not only do they have a large selection of 22oz. beers, they also have a good amount of 6 and 12-packs available. The employee working there (I did not get her name, sadly) was very engaging and when I commented on the large selection she proceeded to ask me about how I found the store and why I was there. She made me feel welcome and like I was more than just another customer, and I've been back a few times since I found this place. A must-see if you want good-priced beers and liquor! read more

I like this place. Its family owned and the lady who works there makes really good sandwiches. They also have every single type of beverage you could imagine. Everything from coconut water and every soda/ chaser ever made to $170 bottles of whiskey in a carosel horse bottle. + an exquisite beer and candy selection. I'll be back... read more
