My usually breakfast spot wasn't open and I was on a time constraint so I decided to stop by. Had high hopes based on the reviews. Really great renovation on the taco restaurant that was there. The display case filled with sweet temptations was amazing. I know this is a doughnut spot, but I didn't want a diabetes breakfast. Went with the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on sourdough. Not great. Their coffee machine was down, but they could do cappuccino or americano. Not sure how the regular coffee was down with those options, but ordered a cappuccino. It was just a few degrees above room temperature. Decent flavor, just not even close to hot. I'll give it another shot if I'm wanting a donut, but otherwise note sure if I'm going back. read more

I favored the Maple Pecan and Lemonade flavors out of the ones I tried. The Coconut Cream and Raspberry are filled doughnuts so can get a little messy. Walking in, you'll see a cute little shop that smells wonderful. The donuts all look so good and fluffy! I got the popular French toast donut. They have a nice assortment that is sure to please anyone. I ordered a caffe late plain and it was so smooth. It paired perfectly with my donut. I will definitely go back soon to try out their breakfast and maybe a little side donut action... I highly recommend coming here and trying for yourself. I was very excited about these as they look absolutely scrumptious in photos I've seen and they offer options for special diets (vegan, gluten free, keto [low carb, no sugar]). Note that part. Located in a newish looking center on Yale (the other side of I-10 from Sprouts. Easy to get to with a shared parking lot. The feel inside gives vague retro vibes like one would expect from a "parlor." They do have some tables but not much. I went with my daughter, sister (the vegan), and her husband at around 10 am on Wednesday. They had a few people but by the time we left about an hour later, there weren't enough seats and the line was reaching the door. First thing you spot is this huge display case with all the flavors. They only have a few filled donuts - everything else is just toppings and icing/glaze. We had questions though (they do not put the special donuts in the display case) and let me say that the staff aren't very knowledgeable. I wanted to know if the gluten-free donuts also contain eggs (they do - darn) and for some odd reason, the lady said their VEGAN donuts also have eggs. I stopped. And asked her again. She gave the same answer. That was when the guy in charge overheard and was like, "Nooo, Vegan donuts do NOT contain eggs." But as he said that, he pulled out a binder to double check. Eek. Turns out vegan donuts are made in the back for you. I am fairly certain they have not had an order for them before (or at least these particular employees). You have to tell them the flavors you want (from the front case) as long as it's nothing that contains non-vegan things (ex: maple bacon, campfire) and are not filled (the filling is not vegan). My sister ordered first and I went crazy and got: Blueberry, churro, cookies and cream (my daughter's favorite flavor in general), and creamsicle (think oranges). I added on French toast at the end because it says it's popular. I also got a lavender latte (all house-made syrups). Didn't taste the lavender at all but it wasn't bad. But I still give it 3 stars because why does it not taste like the ingredient it's named after. These are HUGE. It has a flaky dough and I sadly did not get a filled donut (WHYYY) but it works with the icing as long as you get a decent bite. The icing is on the sweet side. My favorites are probably the churro (because one side isn't iced) and the French toast (the entire thing isn't iced). I had cut up everything to share with my non-vegan table mates and my sister STILL hadn't gotten hers! It had been 30 minutes. We asked and almost ten minutes later, one of the ladies came up and asked what the flavors were because they forgot. I'm beginning to feel offended on behalf of all vegans. And once the donuts came out... it did not help with the let down. Vegan donuts here are cake donuts with different flavored glaze. They are half the size of the regular donut (observe how large the box is with them). They don't even top with crushed Oreos when those are accidentally vegan. I ate a tiny piece and they're overly sweet with an apparent taste of soy milk (I despise soy milk - it makes me gag) but the only thing going for them is they're moist and at least they tried. But not very hard. They're the same price as the regular donuts (round up to $4). We expected a similar product made with vegan butter sticks. There are vegan croissants out there. There are also gluten free graham crackers and vegan marshmallows while we're at it. I understand vegan substitutes are more expensive but soy milk is the cheapest vegan milk and they didn't use anything else that would merit $4 per tiny cake donut y sister finished in 4 bites and she's a slow eater. People don't mind paying extra to get something that looks like what its regular counterpart is, FYI. Someone mentioned Dominique Ansel's cronut. Do not compare these to his. His are amazing in terms of flavor combinations that change every month (this month is Caramel & Malt, filled with salted caramel ganache with a creamy malt ganache) and the brilliance of French pastry-making with every laminated layer in place and you get filling in EVERY bite. They're also $7. Each. This place uses a flaky, croissant-like dough, offers flavors that are more common and flavors topped and they don't really go the extra mile? Barely even a foot for the vegan ones. Sorry. Got carried away. Try it at least once if you're not vegan (I didn't see their keto/GF donuts so I can't say anything on those). My son's multiple food allergies gets him nothing here. If you're vegan, go to Voodoo donuts where their vegan donuts look like their regular donuts, are decadent, and aren't so obviously different. I'd give 4 stars but my table's experience as a whole brought it down to a solid 3. Oh. They also serve breakfast items. Breakfast tacos, avocado toast, açaí bowl... but almost like a side note because that donut display is overpowering. read more

Unfortunately I waited in line for 15 minutes and when I got to the register was told it would be an hour wait because they are making the donuts fresh and already have online orders that are backed up. A friend from Colorado recommended this place to us. Said they were great doughnuts, so my husband and I had to give it a shot. Went on a Sunday afternoon (1:30pm), not crowded and plenty of parking. When shopping for doughnuts, it looked like so many were gone, but the employee stated they could make anything we wanted. So we ordered their popular, french toast doughnut. We also got the raspberry/pistachio and a chocolate keto friendly doughnut. The keto doughnut was alright, kinda cold.. wasn't the best keto friendly sweets I had. Was recommended by a friend to try this out because he thought it was the best donut he ever have. I would agree if you like croissant texture like donuts. They were soft, moist, and chewy. I got the favorite French Toast and Raspberry/pistachio. French toast was amazing. I did wish it was a bit warmer when served. The raspberry/pistachio was good but wasn't my fave. Went to Parlor Doughnuts this morning and had a WONDERFUL experience. The doughnuts are the "cronut" type (croissant x doughnut) with a TON of various flavors and toppings. Ours were fresh, perfectly baked, flaky, and just the right amount of topping/doughnut ratio. They have adorable little minis as well. The shop is trendy and modern, a few tables and counters to eat at if you are dining in. They sell shirts, mugs, and some really cute stickers and buttons also. I'm not sure if it is because it is new or because we went early on a Sunday, but the line was very short and the staff moved quickly. Everyone was very nice! They also have wonderful cold brew and lattes, and other breakfast foods! The chorizo and bacon tacos were good, as was the salsa. A little on the greasy side? But hot, fresh, and yummy. Perfect compliment to a sweet doughnut. They also had various breakfast sammies, acai bowl, oats, avo toast, etc! (They have plenty of gluten-free options and treats for pups as well ) Also going to add, A+ for parking! We also ordered some breakfast sandwiches and didn't eat everything - I asked for a to go box but was told it's their policy not to give to go boxes without paying for it. One might be a little disappointed if thinking of Parlor's layered donuts like Dominique Ansel's cronuts. Nope! Parlor's layered donuts were not looking elegant like those made by Dominique Ansel but rather a Texas sized surprise! There were various flavors- "Strawberry shortcake" and "cookie and cream" were pretty good, too! Oh no, sugar overload- facepalm! These puff pastry babies seemed to me less buttery than the cronuts that I'd had elsewhere because there were obviously less "layers" as compared to the pastry inside of a "real" cronut like that of a French croissant, but they were still pretty crispy and flaky on the outside. read more

I attended their grand opening and I'd definitely come back in the future :) it's not huge but there are a few tables and a bar stool area to sit. Customer service- Great! The owners were very kind and hands on. All the staff were nice. Food/drinks- I got the blueberry hill doughnut (got to use my coupon for a free doughnut) that had hints of blueberry and powdered sugar; it was so good. I'm one of those people that loves the look and smell of donuts, but who gets very disappointed with most donut places, especially the three chains: Shipleys, Dunkin, and Krispy Kream. I've even tried the gourmet donut shops and found the donut part was just ok, and the topping so massive and sweet it was just not enjoyable overall. However, today I may have very well found donut heaven. Simple store, clean, pleasant workers, and approximately 25 amazing perfect donuts. These are not your round greasy sugary coated donuts. These are as close to a croissant as possible while still being donut like. They're huge in flavor, flaky crispiness on the bottom and sides, and just the right amount of topping/icing to be the just right amount. Pulling the donut apart the dough is perfect- not the chain store blah doughnut but real croissant quality (looks almost like a quality light and pull apart cinnamon roll dough). I will definitely make a trip by there the next time I'm in the area. So many kinds to try! I didn't get pics of the one I tried at the shop (the cinnamon roll flavor), and I made it to the following morning before eating the chocolate peanut one I brought home. I did get a couple of pics of that one. All I can say is great job on some amazing "doughnuts"!! read more

It would have done me well to do a review of my order from here sooner to the time that I had these so I can remember all the flavors of the two dozen doughnuts I bought for my sister, mutual friends, and colleagues. I would have to say that the response to the layered and flaky doughnuts were mostly meh. I also remember getting the coconut cream, strawberry shortcake with fresh strawberries, french toast and the double chocolate. I was going to buy maple bacon for a savory option to add in the mix but I came to my senses and remembered how gross maple bacon doughnuts always seem to me even though a lot of people liked them. They had a vegan choice but I didn't have that diet amongst the " taste testers". So, I skipped over that option too. Well, simply enough......the doughnuts are just not. that. great...... Why not? Well, I don't know how they cook the doughnuts but the after bite is that of grease enough to make one queasy and I question the quality of the ingredients that the doughnuts are glazed with. That being said, you can make out the flavors you ordered but that after bite ruins the flavor. What I was left with was doughnut scraps of those who tried the doughnuts and didn't go in for another bite so the rest was discarded.
