Easily a wonderful park that Santiago should be proud to have. This is as good or better than most parks we have in the US. There are multiple playgrounds, a body weight fitness park, hike and bike trails, a pond, open fields, and a fantastic view of the skyline above it all. You could easily spend hours here e joying the day. There are a fair amount of trees so shade can be found. Restrooms are available for free near the southern part of the park. What a great park for people of all ages and dogs, too! On a Saturday, we took our dogs for a quick walk to check out the enclosed dog park. When we arrived, there were a lot of people enjoying the park, mostly in the shade on picnic blankets because it was quite warm. The entire park is very well maintained; we saw several people working there from maintenance to security. Our priority was the dog park, which is small and narrow but really lovely! It has one main entrance; once through the first gate, you can remove your dogs' harnesses/leashes, before entering through the second gate. Inside, there is a nice, modern agility course (circuit). Our old dogs were pretty worn out from their walk, so they weren't into the course, but there was plenty more for them to checkout. There are large bushes that run along two sides of the park. One of my dogs discovered a pathway between the shrubs and the wall and just nosed around back there in the cool shade. The water fountain is very nice, too, and serves both humans and dogs. There are several beautiful wooden benches throughout, many of them under the shade of the trees. While there, we saw lots of walkers, bikers, and families enjoying themselves in the park. Last year I was training for the Santiago marathon and would follow Parque forestal up, through Parque Balmaceda up through Bicentenario. Bicentenario is one of the newer parks in Santiago and it really one ups the rest of the surrounding parks. Besides it being very well taken care of, Parque Bicentenario is huge and has options for both runners, bicyclists as well as pet owners and families (they even have a playground made for handicap children). If you aren't running around the large park, you can take advantage of their delicious food carts/trucks such as Hogs (gourmet sausages), artesanal ice cream and all natural juice (to name a few). You can enjoy your snacks while looking at the nature and wild life -- especially their lake filled with flamingos, geese and coy fish. They also have large plots of flat grass where you can have picnics or bbqs and play a pick-up game of soccer. The park has areas available with umbrellas and seats to enjoy on a sunny day. For those with cars, they have built a large paid parking area, with 90 spots (parking can be hard to come by in this city). One of my favorite places to run in Santiago. I love the dirt trails and the design of the park is beautiful! There are so many unique corners and spaces in the park - from big, open grass to the pond/laguna and flamingos, ducks and fish. It is clean, safe and has fabulous views of the city. It is truly a family park with plenty of kid play spaces, benches or grass for picnics. Plus, enclosed dog park area but most dogs just run free. Recently, they changed the off leash ordinance so if you have your dog off leash, you may get fined (about 200.00 pesos?) but technically, do the park guardias have the authority to give you a fine? Great park! Everyone here is so active with their dogs, families or just working out. Love the flamingos and other birds. It is huge and a nice restaurant is next to the park over looking the ponds. I recommend checking it out for an hour or two!! read more

I used to live near from this park, and it was my favorite place in town. Perfect to work out, do some yoga, running or just chill, in summer they have chairs and lot of different services in the area. There's plenty of security because is located near from embassies, coffee shops, etc. read more
