Besides the crystal clean…read morenatural fresh water flowing in the swimming pools, there are 2 very interesting trails in the "cerrado" environment, originally the second biggest forest area in Brazil after Amazone. There you will have a great opportunity of enjoying silence and contact with nature, as hikers are few and far between even on the busiest days. Go for the hikes, visit the meditation area, where you can see the uniqueness of the Cerrado, a kind of savanah of Brazil central, and after that refresh yourself in the large pools. The 2 trails: Capivara (about 15-20 minutes) and Cristal Água (1 hour). They're both really easy. Capivara is well shadowed and closer to the pool area, and it's quite busy at all times so no special precautions are needed. Bad points: Foreigners get charged 15 Real as opposed to 7-8 Real for locals. It's a pity they don't have bike rentals for tourists. And yes, for access you need a car, as the park is badly served by public transport. Tips: Avoid coming by taxi, and if possible, let a brazilian take you. Bring comfortable shoes, a bottle of water, sunscreen and snacks. It's great for kids, specially to observe the little funny monkeys, but take care with your food, they are smart enough to catch it and make you laugh.

Actually is the skateboard downhill freak spot! In my opinion, you will find the most splendid view of the entire city and lake. There is also a small Chapel, build in the top of a hill, designed by the famous architect Oscar Niemeyer, and a open arena theater for large concert. tips: amazing SUNSET. Specially on dry winter days! if there is one thing we locals are proud about Brasília is the beauty of the sky here. This is my favorite place to check it.

It´s funny to think that the largest urban park in the world isn´t Hyde Park in London or Central…read morepark in New York, but Parque da Cidade, in Brasilia. Huge park with many fun options! There are bars and restaurants, a lake to hang out and picnic, many barbecue areas and sports courts in general, many of them. Locals love the park for skating, biking, jogging, strolling. People is very sporty in Brasília. There are running tracks with 4, 6 and 10km. Most parts of the tracks are with no single tree or shadow. To refresh I recommend enjoy the free water dispenser once in a while or buy a coconut for drinkin (3R$). You can also use one of the adult playgrounds to work out belly, arms and legs, There are also the funny showers, where you just press a button and some tiny waterdrops will be dispensed, feels amazing at the skin, just try it out! Very recommendable to spend your freetime there. There is also a go-cart track and Nicolândia, an amusement park which has just gotten a new ferris wheel. The smell of popcorn in the air always brings me back to my childhood. tips: Feel free to pick mango or any other fruit at the trees. The park is so big you probably won't walk all over in a day.
