Also, Viveros de Coyoacán has the widest variety of squirrels I've ever experienced. Like seriously, I thought Google Maps was joking, but there were black, brown, red squirrels, I don't even know. They scurried up and down trees like ants. It was insane. Check out the cactus, hedge-lined paths, and open spaces. The park is impressively clean, and I'm actually learning a ton about this place through other Yelp reviews. Apparently it's a tree nursery to reforest the city. Come here for some quiet time, whether a few minutes or a few hours. Take a break from all the hubbub, and kick it with the squirrels.

It's a nice park - definitely would be great for locals who want a place to run, walk, or exercise (we saw a lot of runners in Viveros)! It's not as great of a park for tourists to explore (unlike more touristy parks - with gorgeous fountains and memorials), but it's a pretty place for a walk. We figured it was a nicer walk to go through the park to get from the center of Coyoacan to the metro station, but you can't exit wherever you like (there are certain entrance/exit points to the park). We entered a church, had lunch in the area and did some shopping. Doc bought a bracelet I liked from a vendor and a T-shirt from a man across the street from the museum for me. I bought some bracelets and pouches from a man on the street. He could speak English and said his family was Aztec. He made the bracelets and his grandmother made the pouches. Many locals with their dogs and tourists were enjoying the nice warm weather. We saw people being blessed with special smoke or sage. Many shops and eateries on nice streets. There was one two story restaurant that looked very pretty and romantic with couples eating on the outdoor balcony.

My 2 most favorite things about this park is seeing so many dogs. As a dog lover (and also of one who recently just lost her little girl dog 2 months ago), it was so nice to see so many dogs because they always bring me so much joy when I see them. Most of the locals walking their dogs walked their pups off leash. And for the most part, their dogs were all very well behaved and always stayed close to their owners. But there were also some people who also walked their dogs on leash. The other thing that I loved the most about this park was that there are so many trees that really keep this park very nice and cool because of all the shade throughout this large park. It really does encourage people to come out and walk and do some exercise, which I really love. At this park were a few different playground areas and also a very large pond with ducks. There are also vendors selling items, food, etc throughout the park. There is also a restroom if you need to use it, which cost $5 MXN or $0.29 USD (it is common to pay to use the toilet in Mexico but be aware that it is common for there to be no toilet paper, sometimes no toilet seats.... yes the actual seat, and hand soap. But usually restaurants, grocery stores and museums do not charge to use their toilet). This park is surrounded with a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and apartment buildings. For the most part, it is a pretty kid friendly and dog friendly park that felt safe to visit the days and nights we came by to walk. If I lived here, I would definitely be a regular.

In my book, Central Park in New York City will always be the best park I've ever seen in a major…read morecity. Then I went to Bosque De Chapultepec and was just blown away from the pure size. You can fit about 2.5 Central Parks into this park. It's incredible. It's truly a place that anyone who visits Mexico City must put on their agenda. Some of the cool things about this park. They have my favorite attraction in the city-the famous Museum Of Anthropology in the park. They also have the famous castle that is filled with so much great works of art and historical artifacts. They host many concerts in this park. They also have a huge Ferris Wheel that you can see from miles. There is a big lake in the center of the park. The park is also home to a huge city zoo. The way we came in the park there was also a massive collection of street vendors selling just about anything your heart desires. The park truly is an epicenter for the city and I'd imagine means the world to the local residents of Mexico City. These are just some of the reasons I would 100% recommend visiting the amazing Bosque De Chapultepec. It's absolutely massive, incredibly diverse, and there's enough to see and do here that you could easily spend an entire day exploring it.

It did look ginormous on the map! For us, it was a cut through to get to another destination. But I'm glad to have been able to look at the greenery and flowers here. It was a well maintained and clean park. There were plenty of people jogging, taking pictures, and moseying around. I think at some parts of the park, the streets were lined with food and souvenir vendors.

They also had stone animal statues around. The park is walking distance to restaurants and markets as well. It's colorful and peaceful. There were lots of slides. The floor is rubber so it's less messy than the dirt playgrounds. The bad: It would be nice if the playground had more shade. The water sculpture area didn't have water. The interesting: They were repainting (green color) fixtures and benches when I came so everything smelled of paint.
