I came here around 6:30 am to spy on the wildlife and to watch the beautiful sunrise. Surprisingly, I didn't see too many birds around the estuary during that time, but boy did I hear them! This is an insanely popular spot for bird watching and fishing. This zone is protected to conserve many of the endangered bird species that cohabit in the area. No dogs, horses, cars and of course trash, are permitted in or near the oasis. There's a beautiful dirt path that will take you around the entire estuary. I didn't complete the trail, but I would I suggest that you bring lots of bug spray, sunscreen and water with you if you are planning on walking the trails. I encountered mosquitos near the swamp like sections and the weather can get extremely hot during the summertime. The estuary is located right next to the beach, but the tides are very strong and you shouldn't get in the water. The sunrises and sunsets are extremely beautiful! It's such a peaceful estuary. With time and patience, I'm sure that many different species of birds are viewable. Would highly recommend a visit if you're staying in San José and are into bird watching, fishing, and/or just exploring the area.

Our lovely condo was on this beach because swimmable beach hotels and condos were out of our price range. The awesome restaurant I reviewed, Mama Mia, is also on this beach. The sand was very fine, so that part doesn't make it hurt to walk on. But for whatever reason, it was somehow harder to walk on this beach versus other beaches, both on the dry and even the wet sand. I really felt my calves working in ways the other beaches didn't make me work lol. I'd normally remove 2 stars for the difficulty walking, and inabilty to swim here, but I'm just removing 1 because it's mother Nature after all!

Hello, So I was heading to Cabo for the first time and I…read morewanted to make sure I booked a dive. I did tons of research and came across a few and narrowed it down to a big company that did dive, zip line, camel rides, etc. but I wanted to dive and not be one of 20 people. They other company I came across was Tours Cabo. Review, after review for Arturo was excellent. I will admit I was skeptical. But figured 80 people couldn't be wrong. So I booked it. And Arturo replied almost immediately. His replies were so laid back and informal I thought this guy can't be legit. But no matter if wrote him at 1 pm or 10 pm he always replied back and most ended with no worries, no problem. Plans changed slightly due to me diving alone and Arturo made sure it worked for me. My dive was for Cabo Pulmo which is about 1 hour north from San Jose del Cabo. It is an amazing place that is preserved and doesn't allow fishing so the amount of fish is incredible. Arturo pretty much lives there. He knows everyone there. The people there are genuine, real and so welcoming. He had Julio pick me up from my hotel and during the hour drive he explained so much about Baja and the wildlife, it was like a guided tour. Julio is awesome! So we get there and my suit is too thin for the water temp. Again no worries, no problem. Arturo hooked me up with a full suit. It had been a while since I had been out so Arturo did a quick refresher dive in open water along a reef with good amount of fish. I got right back into it after a couple of minutes and enjoyed the dive. For the second dive he didn't hesitate and we were off and he took me right into a HUGE school of Jacks. I have tons of photos that I will upload soon. I couldn't keep up with where to point the GoPro. It was the best dive I have ever had. And Arturo was into it just as I was. It was diving with a friend. He and I both sat back and took it all in. After the dive we went to lunch and if I didn't have to get back to San Jose I think we would have stayed at the restaurant chatting and drinking Topo Chico all day. Listen if you want quality over being among quantity I would recommend Tours Cabo and Arturo with no hesitation. I will be back to San Jose del Cabo and I will book it with Arturo. We had the coolest trainer with his dolphin Coby. And our amazing photographer, Caitlyn. She took the best photos!! It was my first time to do it. Mind you it is a bit pricey, and also the photo packages are expensive. I opted for the digital copies to keep my memories. I think it's worth it for this once in a lifetime chance. Check in is smooth! The only thing is don't forget get your bathing suit! I forgot mine on the ship and basically spent the price of my excursion to buy one to wear at the experience. For me, it's ok, worth it.

The company Cabo Adventures is a total scam and preys on vulnerable families. I will NEVER use them again for any other activity despite us coming to Cabo every year. I encourage every one from Yelp not to use them as well. Each ticket cost over $200 per person to be part of a group dolphin experience. This is not even private. A child MUST be accompanied by an adult so that forces more people to join. You think after spending over $800 for 4 people they would treat us like royalty right? WRONG. They do not mention any photo pricing online because they don't want to scare you away before you purchase your tickets. But let me tell you, it's an all or nothing photo package (you cannot pick a few or buy per picture) and it was over $500!!!!!! The b*tch working at the photo center must get off on making kids cry because when you call her out on the ridiculous prices, she shuts off the computer, takes her booklet, and says "ok good bye, there's the door". They do not negotiate at all because they know you have no other option. It's truly heartless. How insulting after we just spent $800 just on the tickets for a 30 min SHARED experience. They allow observers who are not doing the dolphin experience but they conveniently put them far away from where the dolphins are so it's impossible for them to take any pictures or video. Note: females you are NOT allowed to have anything in your hair such as hair ties or clips which there is no mention online or even when you check in. They don't give a reason why and it really sucked because the day we went it was super windy and our hair went everywhere ruining a lot of the photos plus making it hard to see in the water with hair in your face. My poor daughter had to take out her cute braids :/ Many other great and reasonable experiences. Go elsewhere and do NOT support Cabo adventures. Shame on you guys.

Super fun to dive with and have good rental equipment and boats. They will spend the extra time with you if you are new to scuba diving or the area to make sure you understand the diving procedures so you will have a safe enjoyable diving experience. If you have never been to Cabo Pulmo you are really missing out on something special. Keep in mind that it is a very small off the grid dirt town that mainly supports scuba diving. It has all levels of accommodations. A few restaurants, limited shopping options so try to bring anything you might need. Great diving, great people and such a special place. Give CPWS and Cabo Pulmo a try and you will be glad you did.
