I've always found it easy to get an appointment with my doctor, but when she has been unavailable, I've seen other doctors at the clinic (at least four) and been comfortable with them all. Since all my charts and files are kept at the clinic, whichever doctor I see has my history there, and my regular GP can access them next time I see her. The thing I love the most about this clinic is that it is also a walk in, and my doctor reserves a couple of walk in spots a day for her regular patients. When I have had need of walk in services, I've been able to call the clinic when it opens and often get a quick visit with my doctor. I hate going to the doctor, so if I like a clinic, it's worth sharing!

The great thing about Dominion is that my location (Century Park) called the MacTaggart location to find out how many people were waiting. It turned out to be 3 and they added me to the list. By the time I drive there (which was only about a 10 minute drive) I was at the front of the list. This Dominion is much like my own. Nice, modern and clean. Staff are very friendly and polite. The Doctor I saw was very personable. I really don't have any complaints from my visit here. What I will do next time though is my location can sometimes be busy. If it is I will ask how many people are waiting in MacTaggart. If it's a much shorter list it is worth the drive to that location.

My only complaint is the wait but, then again, what medical facility don't you have to wait at. I've always found my techs to be friendly and gentle. We always make a bit of small talk and then get down to business. They seem to always compliment me for how I react to having my blood taken (I don't know if it's because I don't faint or flinch, but it's something). I know that sounds funny but I enjoy compliments no matter where they come from or what they are about! The people at the desk are sometimes not as friendly but they deal with a lot every day. They just told me I have to go and drop the sample at this lab. I went with the sample and the lady at the front desk looked at the sample and told me there is no label and you have to label the sample. I asked for a label to fill it out and put it on the container, but she said there is no such a thing and I have to write my information on the label that was on the container. So she made me write all information, on a container full of urine, in front of a bunch of people and I don't think that is right. I understand this business has monopoly and people don't have any choice but going to their lab, but I have a suggestion for the higher management of this company. If your management team is just made of a bunch of medical doctors, go hire someone who has a designation in business and knows about customer service and knows how to actually run a business. Just think about this situation and imagine you guys were in exactly the same situation. A label costs less than 10 cents which a patient can use to write the information and put it on a container! Just think about it for a second!

This can be very handy when you don't want to go to the random walk in clinic at your nearest Rexall Drugs or Shoppers Drug Mart which causes your medical file to be scattered everywhere around the city. It's also a lot less crowded than other walk in clinics. Check in is down by scanning a card with a bar code they provide to all patients, making it quick and simple, just scan, sit down and wait for your turn. The clinic itself is new, clean and modern, with great and truly caring doctors.

Another thing is that they have a walk-in list from 2:30-3:30 but see patients only after all appointments, can you see how ridiculous that is. If the clinic doesn't cater to walk-ins that's perfectly understandable but don't say you do and then wait them til the end of the day.

I usually donate in the late afternoon and getting out at rush hour was never fun at the old location. Now you can jump on the Whitemud or take Gateway or Calgary Trail to make your way home, The inside is very open and airy. They have great all gender bathrooms. They are wheelchair accessible and have push button open and lock which helps with all abilities of people. The staff as usual are great. They have a huge snack counter for you pre and post-donation. I did not have to wait to be seen. It's not their fault that lunatics screaming for pills come barging in creating a ruckus. This could happen at any Medi-clinic, right? At this particular time, the staff called the police and an ambulance was also dispatched. As the law and medical team tried to subdue the perp, I was calmly taken down the hall to have my vitals taken. I was swiftly led into an exam room. By the time I was finished, the skirmish was over and all was calm. It's not really busy at this location, so I may have found a "go-to".
