Realized they were closing down and decided to stop in as they were having a 50% off whole store. Quite a lot of selection left. Plenty of kids party supplies, holiday decorations, and ambiance bunch of accessories as well as some clothing items. Kind off sad knowing that this major retailer store is officially closing down, but tbh, their prices were always high! Either way, I'm glad I was able to snag a bunch of birthday stuff for a steal! The team members in this store are AMAZING! I am apart of a bridal party and the plates that we ordered from Amazon never came. We went into this store frantic but was quickly calmed by the 4 members working. One guy was checking everywhere for the specific plates, while the lady at the front was looking in the system to see who else sold them and the manager started calling other stores. Needless to say they went above and beyond. I really wish I could remember their names because I've never had customer service like that. Oh and to make things better, we located the plates. This review is for Dwayne, literally one of the hardest working employees I've seen. (This 5 star review is NOT for party city, which is run by actual children in adult bodies. They get 0 stars.) I was naive. I went to Party City on a Friday night having no concept this place is actually a real live shit show. There were three people "working" (by three I mean one, Dwayne). I had an online pickup order, grabbed a few extra things, and needed to get balloons blown up. Immediately I noticed that the "manager" was just literally standing in front of a register but not actually doing anything while Dwayne was checking me out and people were lining up. Not rocket science, you step into help when a line forms. Need more guidance? Go to Trader Joe's. Then in the midst of not helping the manager decided that a few girls/customers were trying to steal things and went MIA along with the other employee who was apparently running security. All the while Dewayne was busting his ass to try to check out the growing line of customers, blow up a million balloons, refill the helium tank (he literally sprinted to the back), fill online orders, fix a broken register, help a customer audit their order, YOU GET THE IDEA HERE. I would have lost my cool like 20 minutes ago and he was so calm, just trying to do as much as possible. The manager at this point went outside to call the police on the girls who were now in line to pay and was collected carts outside in the parking lot while there were EIGHT people waiting to check or have balloons blown up. At this point I had to say something to "security" employee. I walked over to the window to see that she was collecting shopping carts and said, "I'm not sure it's the most effective or appropriate use of time for the store manager to be collecting shopping carts when you have eight people in line trying to check out, what do you think?" She then walkie-talkied her telling her that she should probably come back inside and help (rocket science). All of this to say my experience here was absolutely terrible, but I would hire Dwayne in a freaking second. They need to fire "manager" and promote Dwayne. Maybe the store will actually help some customers, get some decent reviews, and people would come back. Well done, sir. And god bless your endless patience for morons. I walked into the store a half hour before closing to grab a Santa hat after being at work today. I looked around for about eight minutes before finding one and then got in one of the employees checkout lines. I started making small talk about how I'm dressing up for work and the employee takes my card and mumbles something about me coming in at 7:50 (even though it was only 7:38) and about how they want to go home. I felt terrible. I googled the location first to make sure I wasn't running in at an obnoxious time, since I also work in customer service and want to make an effort to make the lives of these employees easier. If I spoke to a customer this way at my place of work, I would immediately be out of a job. read more

I ran by this store about a week prior to the Superbowl. When the Panthers make it to thr Superbowl then I would think the most popular party supply store within Charlotte NC would be pretty stocked up on Panthers supplies. They had minimal options. Most of the suppies they had displayed for the Superbowl were not even Panthers Blue. I searched around for awhile figuring I would be able to find SOMETHING to use for my Superbowl party. I finally stopped and asked for help and the response I received was very unprofessional. The staff member basically told me I should have started planning earlier because they had already sold out of everything. The woman was quite rude, demeaning and unhelpful! I also think most of the party supplies are VERY overpriced for the quality! I'd suggest ordering anything you can off Amazon! I most definitely won't be returning to this store! read more

I stopped in because I would like to get a couple of NYE celebration items before everything is picked over. Did I find anything? Nope!! Not a thing. It's true when people say you can get anything at Party City. I used to work at the one on Pineville Matthews Rd for about 2 months during Halloween season. I actually loved working there and it was fun. I went into this location earlier this week to look at their wedding aisle. I'm getting married next year on September 4th, and we don't want to spend thousands of dollars for just something that's celebrated 1 day. WalMart has a wedding aisle, and their stuff is pretty cheap. But what do you expect, it's WalMart. Party City had a few items that I recognized from WalMart, but they have such a HUGE variety. Most of it isn't too cheap either in quality. I would be perfectly happy buying all of our dinnerware from here for our wedding. They also have a huge selection of everything imaginable. It is Party City after all! You will not be disappointed, but do bring $100 or more if you can. read more

Went to the store where I was then told about the shortage of SB balloons. Wasn't very prepared. Left went across the street to Walmart where they had tons of SB balloons. Why couldn't party city.
