I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this store has been really lack luster for me. I've been to the one in Jersey City, and this one several times now. Every time I visit there are not a lot of employees. I get we are in a recession but to have 2 employees working and one couldn't get into the cash register is crazy. While me and some other people waited in line this employee kept saying sorry waiting for my manager to open the register. People are not spending money and when they are they are being thoughtful how they're doing it. I went in to purchase some Valentines decorations for work. My 10 minute shopping trip took me 25 mins. I feel bad for the employees who looked lost and overworked. I sure hope Party City can get it together at least by Halloween! read more

If I could give less than one star, I most definitely would. I placed a balloon order for my grandson's 3rd Birthday Party and the balloons NEVER arrived. I paid $100 for balloons and half of the order never arrived. I placed the order 6 weeks in advance in an effort to avoid issues as I had an issue with the large balloon order I placed at the Clark, NJ store in March. In this case, I ordered (2) Jurassic Park balloon bouquets (@ $26 each) and 3 dozen latex balloons. My delivery time was between1pm-3 pm (my party started at 3 pm). Both balloon bouquets arrived at 2:40 pm, the giant dinosaur balloon had a hole in at. I called the store spoke with the manager and he sent THE ONE DINOSAUR BALLOON VIA DELIVERY. When I called back after 3 pm regarding the 3 dozen latex balloons I was told that they had been picked up by a driver. The balloons NEVER ARRIVED. Imagine a 3 year old party with no balloons. I never used to order balloons (for pick up or delivery) from the Clark, NJ location because they are the worst. I was forced to do so my last 2 events because the Woodbridge, NJ Party City closed October 2023. I was able to get a refund for the balloons that were never delivered but that was little consolation as there were no balloon decorations at my grandson's party. Clark, NJ Party is AWFUL!!!!!!! This is the location that should have closed, not Woodbridge, NJ. I put together 10-15 birthday/holiday events a year (so I spend a pretty penny at Party City) and this store is AWFUL. Needless to say, I think I will invest in a commercial sized helium tank and blow up the balloons myself from now on. read more

I purchased balloons for my daughter's first birthday on Amazon and had them filled at party city the night before at 6:30pm. By 4am then we're on the floor. I brought them back to the store when they opened and was told for latex balloons, they only last 4-6 hours. I wasn't aware of that and was never told. Without hesitation, the manager replaced the balloons (again, didn't buy the original ones from them) and filled them for me at no extra cost. It was so nice going in there expecting to have to make a case for my situation but instead being pleasantly surprised with their quality of customer service. The employee I originally spoke with immediately offered to get the manager once I told her what happened. There was no pulling teeth. The only reason I did not give the extra star is because I didn't really have the time to come in and get it fixed and I should have been offered the hi-float option when paying for the helium during my first visit. Absolutely terrible location! Do not go here. Travel the extra few min to the Hazlet location or find another option. The store itself is completely empty and dirty looking it should not even be open for anything other than online. Jason the manager does not know how to handle customers and should be given some sort of course on hospitality management to assist him or be offered unemployment benefits as he is damaging the party city brand. We went to the location at noon with the hopes to have 4 singular balloons blown up. The employee told us we could come back at 5pm to pick up our 4 balloons that they were too backed up with online orders and don't have time slots. When we asked to speak to the manager (Jason) he said the same thing that we could wait until 5pm because they are too backed up. Meanwhile their online ordering system said they would be ready in two hours so clearly the system wasn't as backed up as they claimed. Seems like this location should be closed as they are not actually open to the public and can't support the business of both online orders and walk ins. I would understand if I was trying to purchase a bulk order but 4 balloons? And once noticing this was upsetting to not correct the issue and simply give me corporates number doesn't seem like the way managers should be trained. Went in today for two balloons real quick. When I got to the register, the young kid told me it would be a 20-25 minute wait for balloons. Are you kidding me? This is not a restaurant. I have never had to wait that long for balloons in my LIFE. Absolutely ridiculous, and poor management if there is only one person doing balloons. I would not recommend visiting this Party City under any circumstance. First of all, the employees here are extremely rude. I am a teenager and I understand that Clark commons, and this specific Party City experience a good amount of teenage visitors/customers. Now I am not sure if this store had had negative experiences with kids before, but I assume so based on how my friends and I were treated by the disgusting employees. I was standing in the Halloween section towards the back of the store when I accidentally dropped a mask (or something of the sort, i don't exactly remember) whilst browsing the shelves. An employee, standing right there, was very quick to tell another employee that some teenager was "messing up" their already unorganized and filthy store. The employee that was informed of this, a fat old man bald man, was very quick to approach the aisle me and my friends were in and just stare at us, not saying a word. My friends and I feeling extremely uncomfortable in this situation just looked at each other in a worried way. In an attempt to be nice and understand why he was doing this, I smiled and waved at him. Instead of being receptive of my attempt to be friendly he continued to just stand there and say "don't make a mess" in an extremely rude way. Some of my friends were already headed towards the exit, and I quickly followed behind them. There were a million different ways that the employees and this man specifically could have handled this situation by kindly asking us to keep the store clean instead of being very impolite about it. If this were the case, I would have happily complied (even though I only dropped a mask, seems like a bit of an overreaction doesn't it?) In fact, I recall that many months ago an employee here did in fact kindly asked us to keep the store clean while we were browsing, and to that one employee I thank you very much. Along with the tiresome staff at this location, this location is very poorly stocked and the availability of items online does not match the store, which is very infuriating when making a trip to pick up a specific item, only to later find out that it was never in stock to begin with. Honestly just in conclusion don't go to Party City (specifically this one). The items are so overpriced, the store is gross, and the employees are nasty. After visiting and trying to shop here multiple times I can clearly see why the franchise is struggling to stay open and fighting to prevent filing for bankruptcy AGAIN. Management should evaluate who they hire because everything about this place is wrong . Called to place order for 6 balloons. I was on hold for 27 minutes before I gave up and called again. After being on hold for five more minutes, the friendly but slothfully slow associate came back and said they didn't have six stars in the colors I need. They put me on hold again to check if they had six circles...which they did not. Ended up ordering a mix. Which was fine. The second call took 13 minutes. Call me crazy but I don't think it should take literally 40 minutes to reach a store by phone. read more

I don't usually bother reviewing stores especially chains because I feel like nothing will done anyway. However, the staff here is incredibly rude. Bunch of teenage girls standing around instead of working blocking the aisles. Actually gave me a dirty look because I needed to look at something they were standing in front of. Massively unprepared and terribly unprofessional. Customer service was incredibly slow. Even though graduation weekend is well known they still staffed only four people in total. There were hour waits for balloons ordered days ago. They should have filled the balloons the day before and staffed appropriately for the weekend. Poor service. Went in at 10 am on Sunday when they opened to get balloons for a party. They promised me the balloons would be done by 12. They called me at 11:45 and told me they wouldn't be done until possibly 1. They were still busy doing orders from earlier in the week. I called to place an order for balloons on Thursday to be picked up on Saturday at 11 a.m. I had someone go pick up the balloons for me and when she got there she told me the employees did not know what she was talking about, that there was no order placed and they had to check in the back for it. They come back, and tell her we did receive the order but the balloons weren't even ready and they have not started it. They were so quick to take my money but not have my balloons ready when I called in enough time for it to be ready. What type of service is that ? read more

Place is good. I am very happy to have a Party City in Clark that I can go any time I want. They have what you need and the workers are pretty good and helpful. Prices are fair. I shop here and online for different things perfect if you need some candy there's a bunch of candy pieces and you don't need to buy bags and bags which goes to waste. I got a nice blue Santa hat here. The nice guy got it down for from the way top that I would never be able to get! read more

Worst store ever and Manager is horrible. I called and was told a product I was looking for was in stock and I went to go pick it up. When I get there they could not find it and after being there almost an hour was told they never had it I ask the manager why I was told different on the phone he had no answer and said I probably had the wrong store I then took out my phone and showed him I called his store again no answer from him. After multiple messages to corporate to complain I finally got a call back and was apologized to and was told they would send the product to the store for me to pick up. I called the store and was put on hold for 30 minutes and disconnected I called nd and no one answered the phone for 15 minutes and was first told the didn't have then told they did I went to pick the item up and it was slid across the counter at me and I had to ask for a bag then he tried to charge me and was rude never going back to this store again read more

I love coming to this party city because they always have what I'm looking for (always fully stocked). When I went in today I was looking for a costume and Scott was able to call someone to help me find which costume I was looking for. Scott was also awesome during checkout and was able to answer some questions I had about the decorations too! Thanks Scott!!! read more
