This store has lots of party supplies and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I went there to get some balloons for a 50th birthday and thought I had in my mind what I wanted. But I was quickly told that my colors didn't go together with what they had. So the two people behind the counter assisted me in putting together a beautiful bouquet. Needed a few props for the homecoming game this weekend. This was a perfect time to visit. It was about 6:45pm. No Armageddon lines ! I do noticed like everything the prices elevated terribly. Convenient location and generally good service. I've gotten Halloween costumes and other party items from here in the past. Recently came in to get numbered balloons for my mom's birthday photoshoot. I really wished the store opened a bit earlier. I was next door at Burlington and had to wait a bit for Party City to open. They are open much earlier on weekends but I was here on a weekday! So... yesterday I went to Party City in Laurel, MD to purchase some balloons for my two year old son's birthday celebration... let me be clear when you are working in customer service there is absolutely no reason for rudeness. The store opened up at 9:00 a.m. and my transaction was done at 9:26 a.m. There were probably only 5 other customers in the store... I approached the cashier who was standing in the balloon area and I greeted her with a good morning and since I was a bit of a distance from the check out point I repeated myself much to my surprise I was met with a very cold good morning as if I was waisting her precious time. As we continued the rude interaction the "young lady" didn't smile, did not show eye contact or from my perception any interest of working. As I continued to ask her questions about the #2 balloon or if she had a bunch she rushed through the conversation. At this point; I was still remaining calm because my goal was to get my son some birthday balloons. Another employee who worked in the inventory department stopped what she was doing to help the cashier. She was very pleasant and had helped me out in the past. My order came out to $38.50 and I had to ask the cashier if I could use my coupon not the other way around that the cashier ask if I had a coupon I would like to use. Then to add insult to injury she had the audacity to ask me to put the basket back where I found it. By this time their were a few other customers standing in line. I returned back around 10:30 am since I had to get some more cup cake toppers. This was actually a moment for the "young lady" to redeem herself; nope she tried to speak to me when I checked out the second time however I made no eye contact no conversation I just wanted my items rung up so I could leave out of the store. So like any annoyed customer I gave her a very poor review. So here's the kicker; I received a phone call first at 6:40 am and then again at 7:30 am from the same young lady who received the poor review. Let's start here; since when do associates contact customers who they received poor reviews??? She appeared to try to apologize it wasn't sincere and then tell me that it was early in the morning and justify the reason why she ran through the balloon items. In my opinion this location has very poor and lazy management. Of my 25 years of working in customer service I never had an associate not the manager call me regarding a customer service issue. All I know is... if it wasn't for making my baby's day more special I would NOT have purchased not a balloon, party favor or anything else from this Party City location. Since when do the cashiers argue a point with the customers and say things like well no one before or after you complained about my service. Really... I mean really!! Well unfortunately this young lady's actions has caused the business to be negatively affected. I WILL NOT shop at that Party City again. I will go to Bowie or Columbia in the future. read more

I like this party city. I was planning an event and I ended up calling for some Mardi Gras mask. They put them aside for me and they literally saved the day. I've gone there about 3 other times since the February party and they are always packed and busy. I think the staff is very helpful and the store has a plethora of party trinkets. read more

I made an order online and it was ready at the requested time, however, I did order curbside but when I pulled up there was no curbside parking, not because it was crowded as it was early in the morning...there were literally no parking signs outside for curbside....I park in the front and say that I am here with the order link used. I wait about 15 minutes and no one shows. I go inside and an older lady whom I'm not sure if she is a manager or an associate, looks at me like I'm crazy and says can I help you. I said I'm here for a pickup....she asks for my name and I give it. If they are unable to offer curbside service in the current climate it's totally understandable but let people know. I guess we're supposed to figure it out on our own. They also need customer service training. I wish chic fil a could teach the class. read more

Short version: the name says it all. I went in with the thought that I might find an idea for a character for the Celebrity event next month. Yes, PC has costume props even when All Hallows Eve is four months away. You'll have to wait and see :) But that's only one small part. Currently the seasonal aisle is all Red, White, and Blue. The rest of the big box has tableware, decorations, balloons, toys, beads, balloons, stuff for any kind of celebration you can think of and some you might not have. I placed a balloon order on 6/13 at 4:03pm. I purchased Dove balloons from Amazon and 6 regular blue balloons from Party City. The instructions were pretty simple. I needed to have them blow up all balloons and have them ready for me at 10AM sharp as I would have a long drive (4+ hours) for a memorial balloon release on Fathers Day 6/20/21. I figured that doing this an entire week early would assure me that I would have them on time. I walk into the Party City on Father's Day , get in line and when it was my turn I asked for my balloons. The young lady asked me what balloons so I proceeded to explain I dropped off balloons a week ago, paid 59.02 and was expecting to walk in and grab them and go. She walked over to the balloon section and rummaged around and found my order and said we will start them now. This infuriated me because I needed to get on the road to start my trip so that I could arrive on time. The young lady proceeded to blow up one dove ballon and then stopped to help a customer several times. After I was waiting for 15 mins and still only one balloon had been blown up I asked for the store manager. The store manager came up and proceeded to say I had two people call out what do you want me to do, what do you want. I said well the balloons that I paid for to be blown up, maybe say sorry instead of telling me people didn't show up to work, I don't know but I needed the balloons blown up and here I am still waiting. I walked out the store with my balloons which were a tangled mess at 10:45am. I don't know if the manager or maybe her employees just didn't freaking get it but I no longer have a father alive here on earth and this was extremely important to me and no one seemed to care. Everyone there is simply collecting a paycheck and really could care less about the customer. I reached out to Party City via Instagram and someone was nice enough to chat with me but I haven't heard anything further. I believe they owe me a full refund for ruining what should have been a ballon release in honor of my daddy. I will never use Party City ever again, I'll go to the Dollar Store for my ballon needs in the future. I have attached pictures of the balloons all tangled and bunch together. It was very clear that she is a hard worker and does her very best in all that she does. And let me say that her best, is by many standards THE best. I stopped in looking for glow sticks for a 5K i was doing later that night and was slightly overwhelmed by all of the options! To say this place is huge is a understatement! They had everything I needed and even things I didnt know I needed! I made a balloon order for my son'a 5th birthday. I prepaid and had a pick up time of 3:30pm. The balloons were not ready and I arrived at 3:40pm. The staff was unapologetic and stated it was only 2 of them. I was then ignored and told I had to wait until the line went down before they would work on my prepaid reserved order. I called corporate and have not heard any resolution. Needless to say I won't ever go back to party city again. This should be a happy and joyous experience instead I was disrespected and ignored. I hope someone will take these reviews and complaints seriously and fix the problem. Suggestions: Customer service training, delegate one employee to balloon orders especially on Saturdays, prioritize prepaid orders over customers in the lines. read more

This is my fav Party City by far. The store is clean and well stocked. All the employees are friendly and helpful. I have never had to stand long in a long line, sometimes its busy but the lines move as they should. I have read over some of the prior reviews and they are bs. "Jessica J" first off you sound jealous of the pretty little cashier, and to my knowledge Party City does not sell cakes therefore your review and story about your friend standing in line to buy a cake from a party supply story is not true. I went in and ordered 60 balloons 30 of one color 30 of another with matching ribbon. I went in and ordered them a week before I needed them. The day I am supposed to pick them up they are an hour and a half late with the balloons for a 50th reunion not cool at all. read more

Very organized and the employees are helpful and kind. I do wish they carried candy that wasn't all made in China. I hope someday to see them carry candy made in the U.S.A. since anything made outside makes me weary and I was reluctant to buy any of it for party favors for kids. read more

There is a cashier that works there that was sooooo incredibly rude. She was white but appeared to speak in a black dialect, along with 20 something inch ridiculous weave. She took soooooo long ringing each ccustomer. She ignored other customer inquiries and was very short with people. I wanted to pull her over the counter and beat her up....& I am usually a calm person. This was Nov of 2016. Fast forward today, I call a co worker , she answers and tell's me she in line a party city getting he rgrandsons birthday cake. She said "If she didn't love him so much,,,,,she'd leave the cake right theyre.I asked "why?"....she said the cashier is just so rude we just standing here for so long, she wont call for help, or acknowledge or apologize and I am furious."..... minutes later we described the same strange looking white girl and had a laugh, We'll NEVER GO BACK to that store again though..... #byeIGGY read more
