Our photographer Jeff showed up early which was great and immediately got to work setting things up. He was personable, instructional in staging photos, efficient and I truly cannot wait to see the shots he captured. Our videographer was not who we originally were assigned but Emory showed up and again was personable, helped walk us through some great moments to capture and was so passionate about video that he was hyping us up all day. The few clips he showed a couple of the bridesmaids made them so excited for us to see. Evan was our dj and played each song as we planned. The music was up beat and fun and when there was a song I wasn't super fond of we made eye contact and he mixed into something else. The photobooth was fun and the attendant was so kind. We also did uplighting and cold sparks. The pictures people took of us and sent show people with shocked excited faces when those went off, which was just a fun addition. We used Gordon over the Christmas holiday week for photos of our 6-month old daughter and our family. The sitting went fine. It's kind of hard to get our daughter to smile when there's a lot going on and we did get a few smile shots, so we were happy in that department. We met with Gordon one week later to look at the photos and choose which ones we wanted. We also asked about digital copies. It was not including in any of his standard packages but he said he would give us a copies of the photos we were also going to get printed. There were also a couple photos we wanted cropped a little. He said it would be two weeks. Two weeks came and went. I called and my mother called. On the fourth attempt, my mother basically threatened to show up on his doorstep. He called back with a time/date to pick up the photos, two weeks later than originally discussed. No apology. No explanation. We'd wanted digital copies. We've worked with a range of photographers in the past and we've always gotten digital copies. In most cases, we've happily paid extra for them. We get this is how photographers make their money. Gordon provided us very low-res copies of the photos and refused to provide us with better quality electronic copies. To make matters worse, when we got the photos (my mother picked them up and I saw them later), I realized he did not crop one of the photos like I'd asked. So we paid $25 for a 5x7 photo that's pretty much unusable. And of course, he won't answer or return our phone calls. What was supposed to be the first professional photo session with our daughter turned out to be a stressful and expensive experience. I will never use O'Brien photography and I suggest you don't as well.
