(I realize that sounds like a promo line, but it's the truth) On a recommendation from a fellow party planner, I contacted CPR in December for an event and was totally pleased with how easy it was to work with them. Granted, I only needed tables so my order wasn't complicated, nor did I need a consultation, but from the moment I phoned them, it was smooth sailing. Amanda took my order and sent me an invoice almost immediately after speaking with me; I picked up the tables the day before the event and returned them the day after. Easy peasy. And the prices are super reasonable, too. With two locations for pick-up/drop-off, it's pretty convenient no matter where you live. In December I used the West End location, but I rented tables again this week and used the Southside one. Southside is their main warehouse/showroom, so if you use the West End, they actually transfer your order there for pick up. I have to give a shot out to Jim (one of the owners), who is just so darn personable! When I popped in to pick up my order on Wednesday, he was super friendly and engaging - I could tell that he takes great pride in his business... as he should! And I got to meet the office pup, too, a two-year old black lab (I'm not a dog person, but he was at least part lab, if not full) who was the sweetest dog ever. I'm not usually a dog person, but I couldn't get enough of this adorable guy. Jim told me all about the walks they take down the street from the showroom, and it was clear this puppy's living the life. I will certainly be using Classic Party Rentals for many events to come!

Lots of natural light, large windows, brick walls painted white, neutral floors, and tons of pretty pieces to choose from for any type of shoot. From my understanding, you can rent out the space by itself or pay extra to be able to use any of their equipment. My only critique of the space is that it was freezing in there! I know the tall ceilings probably didn't help much, but dang was it cold. I had to put my coat on in between outfit changes. Being an event planner myself, it's so nice to know this space is here and I will be sure to keep it in mind for future events.

I found P&J after stalking my venue's social media, they work with P&J often (which is always a plus as the vendors are familiar with each other and relationships are already established). Erin gave us a tour of the warehouse early on in my planning process and helped me pick out pieces that matched my vision for the day. She was so helpful and flexible and made the whole process really fun! Their warehouse is FULL of tons of furniture and décor pieces. As I moved through the planning process, my vision shifted, and I was able to easily switch out pieces originally picked and add on new items up until very close to the wedding date. Erin also did magic on our signage. I sent her some inspo photos of different types of fonts and she completely nailed it. The signage was a huge part of the day as we were moving from event to event so having the cohesive lettering through it all really tied together. I cannot say enough good things about P&J. The delivery was smooth (hence why vendors knowing the venue is important), staff were always helpful and responsive, the price was absolutely reasonable, and any question I had was answered with grace. I so recommend P&J to any bride in the area who is looking for unique pieces to add special touches to their big day!

I used to cater A LOT of weddings and this was one of the very few times I've been on the sit back and enjoy myself side of things so it was easy for me to have an eye for good service. They set up multiple bars that knocked drinks out quickly (despite the fact that the groom and I went overboard and nearly provided every possible drink). During the partially served, partially self served dinner they were quick to refill table drinks, clear plates, etc... Best of all at the end of the night when it was the groomsmen's responsibility to load the ridiculous amount of cases of booze back into my truck their staff didn't even hesitate to offer to help haul the boxes across the grounds to the parking lot. My sister got married in Richmond in October of '24. I live in CA and helped her with whatever I could, but obviously, with a wedding, it helps to have someone with experience and knowledge of the industry and be hands-on on the ground. Enter Ashley. Now I did not work with Ashley directly nor do I know what her other skills entail, I can only go off of what I saw firsthand at both the rehearsal dinner and the actual wedding. Mind you, it's been a full 6 months at this point so this isn't even an emotion-filled rant or anything. I'd simply hate for this to happen to another couple. Your wedding is supposed to be the most important day of your life. And a coordinator is there to ensure it is, right? I've gone through Ashley's website page by page a dozen times to see if maybe we expected more than what was promised. My sister wanted her wedding to be very DIY, she had a very specific vision in mind for how she wanted it to look and feel. Part of that meant that they brought in a bunch of stuff from home. The few days before the wedding involved a ton of trips back and forth carting all the stuff to and from. I first met Ashley at the rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding. She seemed to know what she was doing as she was guiding the wedding party and officiant through what the ceremony would entail. The next morning, however, is when it became glaringly obvious that perhaps this was way more than one single person could handle. She was MIA when the groom tried calling and/or texting her so we ended up sending some family members to the venue to ensure someone would be there when vendors began to show up. They arrived about an hour or two before Ashley did. Since they had gotten a head start they had started decorating the church and reception area with all the fresh flowers. When they asked Ashley to takeover, she told them she wasn't a florist and therefore would not be handling any of the flowers. Fast forward to when the wedding party starts showing up and she is again, nowhere to be found. A bridesmaid is having issues with her dress and I told her to find Ashley as I know most coordinators usually carry a disaster kit with them with basic sewing essentials, I figured she'd have a safety pin or skin tape to help, but no one could find her. I'd say the worst of it though was everything after the wedding. While things had been somewhat consolidated to an area or two, stuff was thrown everywhere haphazardly. Maybe Ashley thought the other vendors were going to take care of it, maybe the other vendors thought she would? Either way, no one wants to show up the next morning to clean only to discover that nothing has been properly stored or put away! Most importantly, the goddamn cake! My sister did different pies instead of cake, it doesn't matter, she still wanted to keep them for their one-year anniversary. Where were the slices left? Outside, in a box, with other random leftovers that were left out overnight. I could go on and on about everything Ashley did and didn't do, but the truth is I would hate to have another couple hire her for a wedding only to find out the day of, they are going to be left on their own to figure it out for themselves. Coordinating parties is nothing compared to weddings and it is beyond disrespectful that someone would use their weekend side-hustle to sell a "month-of coordinator" service when what was given was anything but. Doing something as a hobby or because you are good at it is fine. But charging people hundreds or thousands of dollars to show up and not even do what you stated you would is just straight up nonsense.
