Then you say to yourself "THIS IS MOMENT IS GOING IN THE MOVIE THEY MAKE ABOUT MY LIFE!!!" Well this band creates that moment......ALL NIGHT! How they do it exactly? I'm not sure. But it has to start with the perfect balance of energetic playlist, amazing vocals and talented band. Oh and they playlist always seems to be changing. And I think that's awesome, because I haven't been to the same show twice yet. If given the chance you have to let them rock your event. Scratch that...make up a reason to party, hire them and invite me....deal? (the ONLY reason they didn't get that fifth star is because they aren't in the EastBay often. Most often I have to make quite a trek to enjoy all their talent.) I was just about to hit publish and I saw the additional tip options asking if SugaDaddy is good for kids. Until one fateful day, my wife(now) and I were hanging with some friends at Boswell's in Campbell having some drinks and heard this band come on. They were busting Usher, Katie Perry, Taio Cruz, Sean Kingston, Journey and it blew my mind! We had to get them. The bouncer gave me their name and the rest was history! I contacted the band and I got a hold of their manager Jana, who was an absolute pleasure to work with. She responded to all my emails promptly and was very professional and sweet. Music is so significant to me as my fiance and I spent over a year coming up with a playlist. Jana made sure to accommodate it or at least get on the same page with the types of jams we wanted. Even up until the 11th hour when I was stressing about wedding stuff she was nice to assure me that they got everything covered and that the band will handle it... and they sure did!!! They were even detailed enough to dress and match to your event theme. Everyone was loving the band throughout our wedding as I even saw some guests dancing to the "dinner" music portion of our wedding. They couldn't wait until after the festivities since they sounded so good. Even our older guests couldn't help but dance too even if it wasn't their "type" of music. Eric, the band leader was very kind and handled all the MC announcements well and gave us the impression that they were there for us and not just to perform and get paid. Janelle, their female vocalist will hypnotize you with her beautiful voice and then bust out a blazing fast rhyme and mimic Nicki Minaj perfectly. She's so versatile that its amazing. Eric, as expected, sounded real smooth and got the ladies swooning. Clay is a very talented drummer and even busted out a drum solo on one song that everyone had to stop dancing and admire. Scott and Aaron, the bass and guitar, were so friendly and amazing as well. HIRE THESE GUYS! If you want live Hip-Hop and R&B, these guys do it so well and it's hard to find one that will. They are great with your typical wedding music hits as well. You won't be sorry. They'll be worth the reasonable extra you'd be paying for a top notch DJ.

We faced a pretty major challenge early in the evening: our venue lost power right before dinner. While many bands might've panicked, they immediately jumped into problem-solving mode. They worked hand-in-hand with our planner and the venue to find creative solutions, and truly went above and beyond to keep things moving. During the delay, they kept our guests entertained and hyped during cocktail hour, it actually turned into one of the highlights of the night. Our emcee was phenomenal. We gave him some talking points, but he absolutely nailed the tone, energy, and flow of the night, from intros to speeches to key transitions. It felt like he was part of our team, not just someone we hired. Because of the power issue, our dancing window ended up getting cut short, but the band made sure to prioritize the songs that meant the most to us. They brought such high energy and kept the dance floor packed the entire time we had left. They also arrived early and were incredibly helpful with setup and coordination. You could tell they weren't just there to play music, they were there to make the whole night as smooth and special as possible. If you're on the fence about booking them, don't be. They learned a song for us free of charge and played music that we requested during their break in order to incorporate some cultural music that we wanted. At the end of the night our guests were begging the band to keep playing, and if the museum wasn't kicking us out our friends would have kept dancing all night. Unfortunately, we were one of the OG covid weddings that got postponed to 2022 and so we had been waiting with bated breath to dance at our wedding reception/"reception anniversary" and to listen to Rhythmix Sounds' audio skillz! The sound: The sound was excellent, both indoor and outdoor. One thing that often gets overlooked is the audio at the ceremony. I think it's imperative that your guests can hear the officiant and especially your vows to each other. That's why your guests are there! I don't even know how it was all set up but the lapel mic (and the whole setup) was perfect. Transitioning to the reception, the announcements and music were crisp. The music: Brian gave me a spreadsheet to list any songs for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. It was comprehensive, asking for any specific songs for the walk down the aisle, to the first dances, and any other special moments (and of course, any do-not-play songs). I only had a few specific songs for those items, and otherwise gave Rhythmix Sounds a sense of the music artists/vibes that we were looking for, and they knocked it out of the park! Like I mentioned above, they read the crowd on the dance floor so well, and just knew what songs to play to keep the energy up and the crowd on the dance floor, and when to transition to the next one. They catered to all tastes and all ages, and somehow chose songs that pleased everyone! I would be outside saying goodbye to wedding guests, and Rhythmix Sounds would play a song, and I'd have to excuse myself and quickly get myself back to the dance floor! The cost: Honestly, they brought so much value to us on our wedding day, so I think the price is super reasonable and worth it. I did not have to worry about anything related to the sound and the music on the day of, and you can't buy that kind of peace of mind. Don't hesitate! Book them now!

They can be as flashy or as subtle as the situation demands, our bartender even called them "the real deal". They were able to accommodate for our song requests even if they were sometimes outside of their repertoire. But if you likes blues/funk/jazz you'll be in for a serious treat! Their version of "Two Sleepy People" will live on forever as the perfect end to our wedding. He was also a phenomenal MC. He coordinated smoothly with our planner and even played along to a fun scripted we had made for our entrance at the reception.
