A fantastic riverfront tree lined walkway. It's not just a practical way to get somewhere, it's also beautiful. One of the few places in this city where you are not overtaken with cigarette smoke. read more

I loved feeding the pigeons sunflower seeds (like a local) and people watching. Taking an evening "paseo" is a very typical activity in Spain, and in Mieres this is where it happens. Mieres is a very urban town, and this is a very urban park. Although there's a fair amount of trees, there's also A LOT of concrete. The good part about that us there's clear line of sight for parents keeping an eye on their children playing. This is very much of a gathering place and is very crowded. The park is flanked by any number of cafes with tables on the patio. It's lovely to grab a coffee or a drink and just observe. While I wouldn't make a special trip for the park, if you happen to be in Mieres in the evening, the people watching is worth it.
