Have been going here for years with our 3 dogs. Dr. Bob was beyond amazing and we absolutely adored him. Since he passed (RIP friend) I brought my Great Dane in to be seen and have some vaccines he was due for. I was told an annual exam was due and necessary before any shots could be administered. He also had a sore on his hind leg that concerned me which is mainly the reason I made the appointment initially. After my poor geriatric dog was there all day I received a curt, and rude voicemail demanding I return his call from someone name Dr. Konrad. When we spoke he talked to me as if I was a child. Said the dog needed antibiotics and that the sore most likely needed to be opened and drained. When I asked if that meant putting the "under" and giving IV Antibiotics or just oral medications ... he gave me the definition of "oral". what a jackass. When I finally picked up the dog, not only was an annual exam NOT completed... neither were any vaccines. Any questions I asked the Dr at pickup were answered with "I don't know" he couldn't tell me what the sore was: an abscess, or something deeper and offered no course of action other than "call us in 2 weeks" THATS WHY I BROUGHT HIM IN!!! I'll never return after being spoken to this way and seeing my dog handled the way he was. They lost a loyal customer with many animals. read more

This place has new owners. Its owned by the CORPORATION that owns both the Atascadero and Tempelton pet hospitals. The hospitals are good they saved my cat's life. But as for the vet hospitals they've bought ..... They suck. All they want is MONEY. awhat they said to me was sure we'll refill your senior cat's prescription but first you need to come back in and pay us $69.00. This is by far the best Vet experience I've ever had. The staff and doctors are extremely caring and kind. Most importantly, they don't pressure or try to upsell you like I've noticed happens at other veterinary practices. My dog is a nightmare french bulldog. It took four of them to hold him still for his allergy shot. I was so embarrassed but they were kind and patient with him and reassured me that he wasn't over the top, even though he was lol. The doctors went above and beyond to solve an underlying issue with his recurring diarrhea and it didn't break the bank. Im so glad I discovered them. I highly recommend these kind, caring doctors and their amazing staff. read more

I have tried a handful of others and had been unhappy for years. Dr. Konrad is wonderful! He is straight, to the point and caring. He even has checked in with me after a surgery or on my kitty with cancer. He's honestly awesome at what he does!BTW, he does exotics!! I am very sad to write a bad review because I love the founding Vet, Dr. Schechter, and I've lived in Paso Robles for over 25 years, but the current staff is a bunch of dishonest people. We brought our dog for his annual and vaccinations in April. I paid for an office visit, exam and vaccines. His rabies was to expire in June and they refused to give him the vaccine, saying it was too soon. Today I called to find out about bringing him in just for the shot they had refused to give him and they tried to tell me I would have to pay for another office visit! When I questioned it, they gave me an entirely new made up excuse. They have to take his temperature and examine him again?? BS! They are more concerned about making $$ than fostering a relationship with pets and their families. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Paso Petcare. I am moving out of the country and needed Health certificates for 4 pets in order to fly with them. It all has to be done on a very specific time line in accordance with the airlines and the destination country. Michelle went out of her way and jumped through many hoops to make all of this happen. Full disclosure: I have a really mean cat. She will hiss, bite, and scratch if you get within five feet of her. Like most black kittens, she hates most people. Unfortunately, she gets even more violent when she is in the presence of medical professionals. Despite my cat's aggression, this vet clinic is nothing but loving and affectionate to her. They didn't bat an eye when she tried to attack them and they were exceptionally sweet and understanding about it. Dr. Bob and his team deserve an A+ rating in our book. From the start we were greeted by his friendly team with a smile and they went above and beyond to make sure we got the best of service even on a short notice visit. Dr. Bob is the BEST! Not only did he educate us on our sweet Britzy's diagnosis, he was very kind and gentle to our 70lb pound dobi! That alone meant a lot to us. I brought my pet peahen into this vet clinic a few days ago because she had been attacked( possibly a fox) unfortunately her wounds were too extensive and she was put to sleep. My ex took our GSD there because she was really horribly skinny! She was usually a good 72-ish pounds and she had her weight done and he told me that she was 61 pounds! He told me that they said she looked great... I asked if they did any blood test and he said no. Well, she ended up passing just a few months later unfortunately... We just took our sweet Mabel for her first visit with Dr. Bob and we were very happy. All of the staff was great, and Dr. Bob was wonderful in answering all of our questions. He even got down on his knees to get to know Mabel, and I had to as well to let her know he was okay. Once I did that, she was happy to let him check her all out. Dr Bob and staff are the best there is. We have taken our animals here over the years and everyone that works here are simply amazing. Dr Bob has even come in on a day off to check on our pets. He is truly one of a kind. He is currently helping our cat Melvin heal from a big catfight. The staff is always patient and kind, even through tough covid times. I can not express how thoughtful the entire staff was. We were traveling from Vegas and our cat got an ear infection. They got us in quickly and took such good care of our kitty. We have a small, 8 yr old Yorkie Terrier mix, and have been using Paso Pet Care for the past 3 or 4 years for routine issues. Last week our dog had some serious symptoms and when I called for an appointment, they said they couldn't see her until the following week! When I called the next morning to explain that her symptoms were worse, they still would not see her and recommended the Atascadero Pet ER Clinic. While living in Atascadero, we always used the El Camino Vet Hospital so I called there. They told us to bring her down to them and they would see her about 10 am the same day. After her exam, Dr. Robinson spent about 15 minutes on the phone with us ,explaining what the issues were and the medications he was recommending. I will NEVER use Paso Pet Care again!! read more

There is no better vet in my book than Dr. Lucy... she is kind, compassionate, smart, informed, and has a great way with my animals. My one dog was very distrusting of vets but he grew to love Dr. Lucy, in his own way. In the end, Dr. Lucy helped us put our dog to sleep when he developed leukemia. The whole office, especially Deb the office manager, was kind and understanding throughout this very painful process, even when we had to postpone the event and it cost them time and money. One hardly ever meets a good doctor unless it's a bad situation. Such was the case in meeting Dr. Lucy. Miss Rozie, my cat, began having medical problems a couple of months ago and I chose Paso Pet Care because it was nearby. Cats don't like traveling great distances. I found Dr. Lucy to be pleasant, knowledgable and compassionate. I have since called her for Rozie's continuing problems and she has always been very cordial and helpful. Dr. Bob is the best vet my dog's have ever had. My parents and I took my dog Jack to him this morning to be put to sleep. He was very compassionate during Jack's transition. I knew he was in good hands. Pearl, my other dog, loves Dr. Bob. He's been very helpful with her medical needs, and is very thorough explaining procedures. Paso Petcare is amazing - the staff, the facility and the vets superb. Our chocolate lab Lacey is very shy and particularly anxious around male vets - NOT THE CASE with Dr. Bob - he is her new best friend. She had to have surgery and the entire office was kind, concerned, understanding of "our" anxiety and always communicated what to expect. They don't leave pets overnight unattended and alone - which is amazing. They treated Lacey like any pediatrician would treat your child. Dr. Lucy was our original vet but has since left. Dr. Bob would come out and great Lacey in the waiting room (first time she barked her head off) but things did nothing but improve. Dr. Bob was completely on board with her and her needs. I have used Paso Petcare for years. All 3 vets are fabulous and the front desk staff is awesome. Today I had to put my dog to sleep. He lived a long life and was in a serious decline. Paso Petcare was sensitive to my needs and those of my daughter. They even provided her with a book to read to help her deal with the loss. It really helped. They were so understanding and kind. I have gotten outstanding care for my pets ranging from chicken to guinea pig and dog to cat. I highly recommend them. As a bonus, their prices are totally reasonable. read more

I have taken 2 dogs and a rabbit to Paso Petcare for over 2 years now. I was impressed with the manner in which Dr. Ann handled me and my 18 year old dog when I had to have her put down several months ago. My more recent visits to the clinic have not been as positive. I brought my dog in to have his ear checked. One of the animal techs was making rude comments about him in the lobby area because he was growling and whining when his ear was being checked. I felt like this was uncalled for. My dog has always been very friendly and happy except for this particular visit. I felt embarrassed and angry because of the comments this tech was making to other people waiting in the lobby. After the vet saw him and I paid the bill, I was told he needed to come back for a follow-up check. I asked if I needed to make an appointment and if there would be an additional charge. I was told yes I needed an appointment and that there would be no charge as it was a follow up check. My husband took our dog in for his follow-up. After he left, he received a call that he left without paying. I called and questioned why there was a charge. I received a call back 3 days later stating that there was a charge for the office visit because Dr. Lucy had to flush his ear to check it and that she didn't charge for the flush so had to charge for the visit. I am paying the "extra" visit charge but will never go back to Paso Petcare. I have always felt that they overcharged but they were convenient for me. I let them know that they have now lost a customer because of their dishonesty. They have really changed in the two years that I have been taking my animals to their clinic and not for the better. read more

This pet care facility is so amazing, everyone is so great and caring.  We have been using these vets for years for our various pets over the years since moving to Paso Robles .  They have taken excellent care of our pets and when their time has come to cross the rainbow bridge the staff has shown us great compassion, even sending us condolence cards in memory of our pets.  I think this is what has really endeared them to us, their care and compassion. read more

Took our new puppy here. Was told I needed to do more research about not neutering our purebred Catahoula. Then was recently told I was "stupid" by a vet assistant in the front office because I didn't want to give him an unnecessary shot. I don't pay for someone to tell me what to do with my puppy. We stopped going here and started going to Paso Robles Vet Clinic. Much more friendly!!!! read more

Moved to Paso Robles recently and Paso Petcare was recommended by Canterbury Tails Pet resort (another 5 star business for pet sitting!!) Saw Dr Carol Hansen and she was amazing with my border collie, who tends to be fearful of new people. She was patient and very soothing to him and he loved her right away! She also did a great exam. We've used Paso Petcare for some routine checkups and had good luck with all 3 of the vets we've seen there. The front door staff is *the best* - professional and compassionate. Would definitely recommend to a friend. However, if there was any type of emergency or unusual issue with one of our boys (canine), I immediately call the Atascadero Pet Hospital & Emergency Center: state of the art CT, digital xrays, excellent surgeons on staff 24/7. But Paso Petcare is great for the easy, routine stuff. read more

I love Paso Petcare! I have been using them for many years for my cats, all of which were homeless at one time. They treat my animals with love and respect and they always do their best for my babies. They are also very good to me and give me options on care when possible and no guilt for whichever decision I make. I really value their opinions and the front staff is always cheerful and good to everyone. It isn't easy doing what they do and many times we are there, it isn't easy for us either but they always do their best and I never feel like I have gotten low quality care or advice. They are not perfect and don't have a crystal ball but they do a darn good job all around and just have nothing bad to say. I have had to drive to Atascadero many times to go to the emergency vet and that's just what we have to do sometimes. I wish THEY were the 24/7 emergency vet! Although I wouldn't really wish that on them cause that just seems like way too much stress. I consider them my friends and feel very fortunate to have them in my life and taking care of my cats. read more

We had the same delightful experience with Paso Petcare Veterinary Hospital, as many other people have had. I hate taking my cat to other veterinary clinics because the facilitys' animal urine smell is an assault on my nose. However, Paso Petcare always smells clean and fresh, never ever like urine. The receptionists are courteous, friendly, helpful, and prompt. Our cat was a rescue, and in the past, she had been skittish, fearful, and even terrified at the sight of the Vet. However, Dr. Ann and her medical staff never react poorly to Bella acting out. Instead, they always treat Bella with kindness and respect while petting and calming her. Bella gives Dr. Ann a reverence which she has not given to anyone else. Dr. Ann skillfully diagnoses and cares for all of Bella's health needs. Also, Dr. Ann makes recommendations to improve Bella's home life. Paso Petcare assures me peace of mind about Bella. I highly recommend Paso Petcare! read more

My one dog had a skin flare up problem, he had patches of raw skin. His problem flard up on a Friday night. Knowing that the vets will be closed on Sunday, i had to hussel to get a shot for my little guy on that Saturday. We have used this vet for 10 plus years. I called asking to bring my guy in for a shot. They said they where booked, and stood firm not to see us. I drove to there office to plead my case, now a argument started with the vet. He was concerned that i was rude to his staff, i was firm, and if they are sensitive too bad. The issue was my dog's health. They told me to drive to an emergency vet several towns away. They also where offering vaccination day, what the hell is the difference, any dog comes in for shots without an appointment. Why not bend the rules for my pup. I did drive to have my pup taken care of. Where was there compassion? One attended said they where a business, i corrected her, i said they where a service. I live in a small town, and will go out of my way to share with my many friend's, Paso Pet is not the place to take your pet. read more
