I am so glad I did! This dish was to die for! With the pasta being homemade in house, as well as the pork being perfectly tender, I would recommend this dish to anyone, pasta lover or not! My partner got the chicken parmigiana, which also looks delicious. If you are hungry, get this dish! It came with 2 perfectly fried chicken breasts on top of a mound of homemade spaghetti. Pastaria is a true gem! We sat inside but they had tables spaced about 10 feet apart so everyone felt incredibly safe. All staff were wearing masks and they even had disposable masks at the door for guests, which I was extra thankful for as I accidentally left my mask at home. We ordered the crispy risotto balls as an appetizer, perfect crunch on outside and so creamy and delicious inside. I'm not sure what the second white herby sauce they served with it was, but it was fantastic! I ordered the pistachio ravioli for my dinner. I'm not a huge fan of mint which is how it was listed on the menu so our server graciously offered to have it made without mint and with basil added instead. It was easily one of the best pasta dishes I've had in Nashville to date. Pillowy soft, clearly handmade, super unique flavor with the brown butter sauce and the crunch if the pistachios. Would absolutely order again, and would recommend to anyone! Location is nice. Outside patio, but it was approximately 97 degrees out so better suited for a cooler evening in my opinion. The kitchen was wide open so you could see in, there was a ton of bright natural light, and the tables were super close to eachother in a big open room. Not a date night spot. Service: Very slow at first. Took a minute to see anyone at our table. I also was craving a dirty martini, and after looking around, I asked if they made them/made a good one. Ordered it "filthy" and it was straight vodka... no thanks. Had to get extra olive juice. She could've just told me when I asked and I would've gotten wine. Food: My cacio e Pepe was delicious! We went because of the food pics. My hubby got the meatball pizza and though they look incredible, the crust is pre-made (you can see that in the open kitchen) and they just add the toppings for whichever pizza you order. This wouldn't be a problem if they kept it in the oven longer... the middle of the pizza wasn't crisp, it was soggy. He took half to-go and heated it in the oven the next day and it made it better. We went here on a trip to Nashville a few months ago per a recommendation and were not disappointed. We definitely had to return. The second time the service was good, but not as exceptional as the first. The first time our waitress was funny and engaging and gave lots of recommendations. Our second time was fine, but standard service. We ordered the crispy risotto balls. They were crispy, but not heavy and the inside was creamy! It was really good, but in the future we may skip it to save room for the other stuff we love. We also got the Margherita pizza which was the perfect dough and good levels of sauce, cheese, and basil. We also got the Cacio e Pete which was the highlight for sire! Pastaria is a consistently wonderful dining experience. I've never had something here that wasn't absolutely delicious. (We even accidentally ordered the boquerones once... still incredible!) The risotto balls are my favorite appetizer. For entrees, I love the cacio e Pepe, pistachio ravioli, and the rigatoni alla granchio. The chopped salad is one of the best salads I've ever had. The wine selection is great, as are the seasonal cocktails. The service is absolutely amazing. Everyone you interact with is warm and friendly. We found this restaurant after reviewing some casual but good quality Italian restaurants. The restaurant was really nice and our server, Hannah, was fantastic with prompt and friendly service and good recommendations. We started with the Olive Tapenade and the Roasted Beets. The tapenade was good but didn't wow us. There was a lot of it and it is a great value at $4.50. The Roasted Beets were very good. We got it with the horseradish on the side because my wife doesn't like it but in my opinion it really added to the dish. The picture I posted is of my serving only and not the whole plate. The servings are large so we ordered three dishes to split between the four of us. The first was the Garganelli Pork Ragu and that was very good with incredible earthy flavor and a full flavorful sauce. The second was Strozzapreti which was really excellent version of pasta bolognese. I ordered the Lasagna because I love lasagna but this was actually a bit disappointing. It was very heavy on the layered pasta with not much in the way of meatiness or cheesiness. The sauce was very good though. We also went big time with the desserts ordering three between us. I will start with the Tiramisu which, like the lasagna, is something that I love but this was only okay. It was very creamy but not much flavor to it beyond that. My son had the Nutella Fudge Cake which was very chocolaty and delicious. The highlight was the Budino & Cookies which is a custard accentuated with a variety of citrus and floral flavors and it was incredible. We had an overall good experience and would probably return in the future just for the Budino. read more

Very satisfied w/ my Monday night services from Mike. We chatted about how awesome our day was going, then I started w/ a glass on Pinot Grigio while I waited for my date. Date arrived and mentioned the Monday meatball special, which we ordered, as well as another round of Pinot. My husband and I shared the blistered peppers and risotto balls, and each got a pasta dish, and it was $92 before tip. My sauce was watery and I was underwhelmed by the pasta itself. The risotto balls were the highlight, I would recommend them. The decor and ambiance is reminiscent of Buca di Beppo. The decor is a bit tacky, and it was very loud and blindingly bright in the restaurant. It was clean though so stars for that. Our server was nice enough and did a fine job, but nothing outstanding. The place was about half full and we waited awhile to have our orders taken. The food itself did come out quickly once our orders were placed. Everyone was friendly and those we passed on the way out wished us well. Again, disappointed overall. We will not be back. read more

Happy holidays Adventurers! I love pasta, especially handmade on site pasta. I was in Nashville visiting family and got to come here for a girls night. This place must be so wonderful during spring and fall, when you can enjoy being outside without melting. The staff were wonderful and efficient with getting us in as soon as possible for our table. I ordered a glass of house white, with the chopped kale salad. This was a new take on kale since it was finely chopped, mixed with creamy anchovy dressing, pecorino, and bread crumbs. I've never had straight bread crumbs in my salad, usually just croutons. But this was one of those salads I ended up learning to make at home. It was that good! My friend ordered the Canestri Cacio de Pepe, which was technically a fancy mac and cheese, but due to dietary restrictions that was what she could eat. She loved it so I guess I'm all for fancy or not fancy macs LOL. I personally ordered the Chitarra Aglio e Olio. Which is spaghetti olive oil, garlic, chili, and grana padano(cheese). I really love a good pasta dish with a bit of heat and this did not disappoint. I was so excited to have found and tried this place while in the area. Free parking in underground garage, attached. Tip: Walking distance to The Parthenon in Centennial Park. Alert: Our car GPS couldn't find 8 City Blvd street address, and Waze took us to the wrong place. View on Google Maps helped locate Pastaria. This is one of my favorite St. Louis restaurants, so a Nashville location is exciting. The food is equally incredible at both locations - the bread and the cacio e pepe are genuinely unbeatable. 4.5 stars: The wife and I recently stopped in here for family celebration and had quite possibly the best, most flavorful/fresh/authentic Italian-style food we've encountered anywhere outside of NYC and Italy, itself. We started with the risotto balls - let me say this: these dudes are SOLID. With the exception that for $11 you get a minuscule portion, you do receive absolutely mouthwatering QUALITY. The wife opted for their Cacio y Pepe - an excellent & fresh pasta dish, but she did note later on how it seemed to be a little "one-note" after 10-12 bites. I, however, chose their Chicken Parm. O.M.Gee. This was again the single best Chicken Parm outside of NYC I've ever had. The portion size was huge, and it had gobs (actual gobs) of melted mozzarella cheese baked/broiled over the top of the entire dish. The spaghetti below and even their house-made marinara sauce were absolutely TOP quality, fresh, and most importantly, stupidly delicious. Even their house wine options were decent in both flavor and price! Their service was efficient and friendly. The restaurant was super clean and welcoming. The only detractor was their limited offerings - understandable during these weird COVID times. The wife saw two dishes on social media that the restaurant touted prior to our visit (and continue to, post our visit) - their ravioli and a Nutella chocolate cake - both of which were specifically what she came in for, and neither of which they had the evening we dined with them. Other than that, we devoured our meal and were far-and-above pleased with our experience. We'll most certainly be back! read more

Came to Pastaria for an impromptu lunch with a coworker, who has been raving about the pasta here. They offer a semi-limited menu for lunch, but still have a variety of appetizers, pastas, sandwiches and pizza. We first ordered the roasted beets appetizer which was unsurprisingly delicious, but I happen to really like beets. The maple miso ricotta was nice, but I would have liked a lot more of it... I was thinking spoonfuls at a minimum. But overall a good start to the meal. For entrees we got the chicken parmigiana sandwich and pasta Amatriciana. The chicken in the sandwich was nice and crispy, focaccia was fluffy but surprisingly a bit soggy in places - I'd understand the bottom slice given the sauce, but the top slice was half soggy too. Overall decent, could use a little more sauce and salt, but I totally understand that is a personal preference - I'm sure there are plenty that love this sandwich just the way it is! The Amatriciana was delicious - bright and fresh tomato along with some savory meaty flavor from the guanciale. Only pasta option for lunch is their chitarra, which is almost like spaghetti. I was hesitant at first since I don't love spaghetti, but the pasta was obviously fresh and perfectly al dente and might have semi-converted me back to spaghetti. Would definitely be interested in trying their other pasta shapes next time. Overall, it didn't blow me away but still had a nice, very filling lunch. Would come back for dinner sometime! read more

Here's what we got: - Crispy Risotto Balls ($10.25 for 6!): $10.95 for 6 fried balls of risotto is ridiculous. We also asked if they could do one extra ball since we had 7 people and they would not. - Crispy Eggplant ($8.95): They have chicken parm on the menu. Why not eggplant parm? We asked if they could just make it and they said no. So we had to order their Crispy Eggplant side and the Chitarra al Pomodoro and then we had to put the eggplant on the pasta ourselves. - Roasted Brussels Sprouts ($8.95): Tasty, but very oily. - Chicken Parm ($22.95): Fine, but very cheesy. - Chitarra al Pomodoro ($16.45): It's pasta with tomato sauce for $16.45. Just make it at home and save the money. - Canestri Cacio e Pepe ($18.95 + $5.95 for chicken): It was described as adult mac and cheese. It was not. Very disappointed. It wasn't even that cheesy. - Lasagna ($18.95): Good. - Pistachio Ravioli ($19.95): Very oily. Only came with 12 raviolis. For drinks, we got wine, the Red Sangria, and the Santa Lucia. I wish there was more presentation with the Santa Lucia. Disappointed. I'm giving 2 stars because the food was not that good and the prices are absolutely outrageous. After trying to make time for a trip to Pastaria for a few months, last night turned out to be the night. It's located in a rapidly gentrifying area off the 28th-31st Street connector, in an area that was, until very recently, the "wrong side of the tracks". It's now the "One City" development, and if you eat on the patio, you have a fair to middling view of the downtown Nashville skyline. The dining room is wide open, and the chefs prepare the food in view of everyone. It's cool, but a bit too loud for conversation, so we opted to eat on the patio. It was a good choice; the patio was lovely. The waiter started us with big hunks of crusty bread; perfect to sop up the Calabrian chili oil and fruity EVOO that accompanied it. We started with the arancini; breaded and fried rice balls. They were served with a solid marinara dipping sauce, and a really nice creamy green sauce reminiscent of parsley and basil. The arancini themselves were ok; not spectacular but not bad. We were tempted by the pizzas ... but the place is called the "Pastaria" and so pasta it was. We made a little buffet with an eye toward having a pile of leftovers to enjoy the following night. We ordered the toasted pasta with clams; it was outstanding. It looked like whole wheat spaghetti, with a very well executed wine, olive oil and garlic sauce. It was a solid portion, as well; like all of the dishes. You won't leave here hungry. We moved on to the bucatini with lamb ragu. The pasta was cooked perfectly; the sauce was bright, and it accented the gaminess of the lamb well. We ordered a side dish of the cauliflower with chili oil; it was delicious, but I would have put a sear on the cauliflower, rather than steam or boil it. Finally, we tucked into the pistachio ravioli with brown butter, lemon and mint. It isn't a stretch to say that it was one of the best ravioli dishes I've ever had. You could taste every single element of the dish, and yet they all married well. We brought a bottle of wine; the corkage fee was $20, which we thought was a little high for the venue, but they offered to waive it if we purchased a bottle from their list. We will remember that next time. The dessert list looked great, but we were too stuffed to try it. The bill with an appetizer, three mains, and corkage barely broke $100. Rolf and Daughters is still the undisputed king of pasta in Nashville in my view ... but Pastaria is a close second, nipping at their heels. Highly recommended! read more

People saw me, empty glass and put down menu.... I hate "not being seen" in a relatively empty place. I know this place. It was much better a while ago. I looked forward to it and ended up walking out. Not really walking out! Got a very poor Syrah. I think it was probably the house blend or something. It sucked. I paid 16.15 for the glass.
