The classic you get here that locals wait or come here and get. I saw 3 tables of 1 and my tour guide and I had to wait a few minutes before getting one. He told me that if it wasn't raining that there might be a line of people waiting outside to take out at another door. I felt like I have had similar pastries to this. So I wasn't like super excited, but I could sense it was fresh and well done and it's not like I can just have these type of pastries this well done all the time. There's different fresh bakery in the US, and it isn't these belem desserts. The cafe area generally generates passerbys that are typically cyclists or hikers. There is a Campananha (I think it is called) and that is typically done by locals and Spaniards to hike between Porto and Spain with lodging spots already setup along the way apparently. There is pride within both Spain and Portugal to do this kind of hike and they may stop for quick bites at places like this and the pastry shop, Pastelaria Fãozense, in Barcelos. Cafeteria Zé Natário, I saw as another name for this place online. I don't know if it's really another name or if one of the translations is incorrect. I've also run into "Confeitaria Natari" as the name of this place, but this seems to translate best as a "confectionary" shop, and it's not quite a candy store. The potential translation (misnomers) are interesting to find and evaluate. This place could also be called more simply "Manuel Natário" for short. Or, these places pop-up because they are nearby and online browsers are trying to sell these places to us, but it's not the actual place I'm trying to describe.

So we stocked up on water, milk, soda, rice, fruit and veggies, juice, some charcuterie meat, wine and sparkling wine. As usual in Pingo Doce we found everything we needed. And as usual we were very happy with value and quality. Staff was friendly, parking is plenty and right out front. It's a really good-sized Pingo Doce, you'll find everything you need and more.
