At any rate, I consider Bastianello a must-see attraction in Milan, even if it's just for a standing espresso, the Italian way. But if you're willing to indulge, you have options aplenty. The "brioches" in their viennoiserie section are outstanding, and while they look like a "cornetto" or "croissant", they're something else. The apricot-filled ones are definitely a new.
But it's not just sweets. If you're sitting down, there's a full menu to pick from, and I would say that the omelet is a must. It's not a simple omelet, it's a huge masterpiece, perfectly arranged on the dish with a salad side. Traditional desserts are also available, such as tiramisu or chocolate coulant. The lunch menu is nothing short of impressive, and if you choose the "Classico" instead of the "Light" version, you're offered additional snacks, like homemade potato chips.
My all-time favorite, regardless of the season, is the "caffè con gelato", a DIY affogato, so to speak. I recommend the hazelnut flavor for the gelato, over which you can pour the espresso as you see fit. The way it's presented is priceless, and if you order it at the bar, it's less-priced, pun intended.
Suit up, and enjoy.
