Very friendly people that welcomed us every morning for coffee and pastries. We were greeted with "the usual?" after just two days. Prices were insanely low. read more

We were on a family vacation through Italy, and stayed in Castelfiorentino while touring for a week…read morein Tuscany. While the town does not have a lot to recommend itself as much more than a commuter town, Dei Pasticceria is a real gem and find. It is literally opposite the train station, and is one of the best coffee and pastry shops we encountered in our 10 city tour of Italy. The coffee is amazing quality, always served up by friendly staff and no surprise to us that many of the locals frequent the establishment. The pastries are also exceptional, my 3 girls had a tremendous time sampling all of their daily specials. There was one afternoon where we popped in after a long and hot day in Florence. My girls had gelato, my wife wanted a prosecco. The staff insisted she eat some of the savoury and sweets on offer lest the alcohol got to her head, and it was all on the house. That was exceptional customer service. The pricing is very, very reasonable and we totally recommend this place for coffee, pastries, a quick drink and exceptional customer service.

That might explain the 25-pounds I gained while living in Italy but that's a whole other story... The cappuccinos are out of this world. Strong and smooth all at the same time, creamy with the perfect amount of foam. Exactly what you need to wake up in the morning. Their pastries, all made in house, are equally delightful. I usually just grabbed a single brioche to accompany my coffee but occasionally sprung for a dozen to take into work. I bought my mom a birthday cake at Roxy Bar once, too. It was all SO good! Staff are incredibly warm and friendly. They were always happy to see me and put up with my awful Italian for 4 solid years. If you find yourself anywhere close to Ponsacco (about an hour from Florence, 30 minutes from Pisa), be sure to make a visit to Roxy Bar! I promise it will be a highlight of your trip. I'm going back to Italy for a visit in August and Roxy Bar will be my first stop!

We've been spoiled by many good pasticcerias last summer when we travelled through Italy. Compared to them this place does holp up quite well. The pastries weren't that great I have to say. But some of the were really good, so you really should give it a try.

What a surprise it was for me to find, in this small Italian city, a quaint little place like this that serves American desserts! I was there on a Saturday afternoon and there were brownies, a carrot cake, cupcakes, fudge bars and chocolate chunk cookies among other things (there were a couple of sandwiches, Italian-style cookies, macaroons and chocolate lollipops). There are four or five tables and you can order coffee, cappuccinos and other drinks together with your desserts. The ambience and decor are simple but contemporary and the nice thing about this cafe' is that they chose to not fill it up with tables so there is plenty of space for its guests. I inquired and they occasionally hold some cake design courses too (consultable online on their website). The only disappointing thing was that the display seemed a bit empty for a Saturday afternoon. There was a bit of everything but somehow I got the feeling as if we had arrived late and there was little left. The chocolate chunk cookie we had was delicious, perfectly American. Next time I will go back to try the brownies and cupcakes! Lovely atmosphere, WIFI available also, excellent place to rest and snack.

It's a pretty small place, so I can understand that. Everything is vegan and organic, it doesn't get much better than that! I ordered the gnocchi which came in a red pepper sauce, then got a side of grilled veggies (which that day turned out to be peppers). The gnocchi was very tasty. The portion was a bit small but for 5Eu it was reasonable. The grilled veggies were smothered in oil which was a little strange. There was a huge selection of desserts to choose from that day, yet somehow I found myself gravitating toward the gelato. I got the chocolate & hazlenut which was delicious and a great way to cool off.
