We love PQ! We knew we wanted an Asian flavored cake for our wedding and came across PQ during our search. She offers a cupcake box each month where the flavors rotate, some of her standards, some seasonal. We ordered boxes on two different occasions and recommend the boxes even if you aren't looking for cake, just as a tasty treat. She puts a lot of effort into the flavors and design. As far as the cake, we chose the strawberry lychee cake with jasmine tea frosting. It was even better than I remember the cupcakes being. Great flavors, not too sweet, but certainly sweet enough. We had a smaller wedding and therefore didn't need a huge cake. PQ still ensured we had a cake and it was the right size cake. She was always quick to respond and so pleasant and easy to work with. Process from ordering to delivery was seamless and without issue. And the cake looked beautiful. Would recommend PQ for any of your events or even if you just want to treat yourself to some of her delicious baked goods.

Hokkaido milk cream? Matcha tartlets? Dubai chocolate? There are so many exciting and delicious flavors to try that Atelier offers. It's a mouthful but I would describe as French European style Asian fusion desserts and pastries. Have to order everything online as I don't believe there is a storefront as of yet but this baker has orders out the door and makes the most beautiful, tasty, and unique wedding cakes. Highly recommend trying the tasting boxes where you can try some of the amazing flavors they create. They do sell out quickly and the flavors for the tasting boxes change whenever they do tastings. The desserts were delicious and there was plenty to share across the family.

PQ created the desserts (macaron & cream puffs) and cake for our wedding, and each one were delicious! I loved our cake. It is probably one of the best tasting cake I've ever had at anyone's weddings. It was super moist and had the perfect amount of sweetness! My cake was super cute and colorful, which was exactly what I wanted! I personally don't like macarons too much (lol; my partner + guests do though), but they were honestly so good, I have to admit. Hahaha! The cream puffs were scrumptious! I was VERY excited for them! Flavors: Cake flavor (petite 2-tier cake) - Exotic Paradise Macarons (100 total): Guava Passion Fruit and Lavender Blueberry (my personal fav flavor) Cream Puffs (200 total): Earl Gray (love this), Vietnamese Coffee (husband loved this), and Lemon Meringue I had a total of 115 guests, including vendors, and by the end of the night, the cake & desserts were all gone. Lol. My coordinator thankfully saved some for me. *NOTE: My partner and I did a cupcake tasting before booking PQ, and our 2 flavors were: Exotic Paradise and the Vietnamese Ca Phe, and they were so good. 100% recommend!!

PQ made us the perfect wedding cake! The flavors--strawberry jasmine with lychee--were absolutely amazing, and the desserts (tartlets, cream puffs, macaroons) were a huge hit with our guests. Everyone loved everything! She also decorated the cake based on some examples I sent her, and she made it look even better than we expected. It truly exceeded our vision. Thank you for making our day extra special!

I think this may have been the best cake I've ever had and I've tried a LOT of cakes. I ordered a bento gift set with a Strawberry Jasmine cake for a friend's simple birthday celebration. My friends could NOT stop raving about how flavorful and cute the cake was... I'm still thinking about the strawberry jasmine flavor. Thankful for the flexibility in changing the pickup time too. 10/10 will be purchasing a cake from here again

PQ made our wedding cake, and we have nothing but great things to say about her and our experience. She offers cupcake tasting boxes, so we were able to try a variety of flavors before choosing our ultimate favorites - Exotic Paradise and Strawberry Jasmine. Both were SO flavorful and refreshing! The cakes weren't dry, and they were not too sweet too. PQ delivered to our venue on-time, and we were even able to see her to say hi for a quick minute! She gifted us some delicious chocolate bars from Hannah's, and not to mention, the cake itself Thank you so much PQ for all that you do. Your hard work doesn't go unnoticed! We appreciate you so much

PQ did the cake and desserts for our wedding. Everything was absolutely amazing and delicious. I'm not normally a cake person but our wedding cake was my favorite dessert from the day-and the others were fabulous! When I saw the cake, I cried because it was so amazingly beautiful. PQ also did tarts, cheesecake bites, and macarons for the wedding. She had packed a box just for us to enjoy after the big party which was an incredibly thoughtful touch. Her flavors are spot on and everything she makes is beautiful.

My wife and I and our wedding guests all LOVED the wedding cake that PQ made for us. It was a beautiful three-tier VEGAN guava sponge cake with orange blossom vanilla buttercream, passionfruit curd, and fresh strawberries. Several of our guests asked us who made us such a light and delicious cake -- we were happy to share PQ's contact info with them. PQ is professional and easy to work with. Her communication is prompt and clear. She made us feel taken care of every step of the way. I can't wait to order more cakes from PQ in the future for our anniversaries and other special occasions!

Last year, I told my friend that cakes can't be instagram-pretty AND delicious at the same time. She disagreed with me and told me to reach out to Pastry Atelier PQ. I've never been happier to be proven wrong! Pastry Atelier PQ's cakes are gorgeous, jaw-dropping, elegant, beautiful, all the great adjectives you want to use. They are also delicious. I threw a last-minute birthday party together and was relieved to find options for week-of cakes. I ordered two 6" cakes (guava passion and strawberry shortcake). Both cakes were moist, flavorful without being cloyingly sweet, and very clearly (in a good way!) Asian-inspired. These are the perfect desserts to order if you want to impress your friends/family. Ordering is very easy and done on her website. She is extremely responsive to requests. Pick up is contactless and ready within a strict 15 minute window (which I so appreciate!). Can't rave enough about the cakes I had! Thank you, PQ!!

One of the best bakers in the Bay Area! Her desserts are delicious, semi-sweet, and very aesthetically pleasing. I look forward to her dessert boxes because it's always a variety of items that suits a large party - everyone will find something they like. Of it it's just for me and my husband, then we'll enjoy a different dessert each day. Considering the cost of living in the Bay Area, these artisanal desserts are great value! I mean how can you get great wedding level desserts for half the price of normal wedding cakes? The owner/baker also is very open to custom orders. She made a tiny cake for my husband as a joke, per my request and it was a hit. :) Her Christmas desserts are also amazing!! She's constantly working on improving the packaging, the delivery system, and the creativity in her desserts. I hope to keep squirreling away all her desserts without my husband knowing - he says I buy too many desserts [from her] in general hahaha!

PQ is a talented, dedicated, and trustworthy vendor for all of your special events. Not only she had a wonderful eye for detail, she is responsive, and can execute intricate details to make sure you can enjoy your day. I knew that I wanted to work with PQ for my wedding and was adamant of securing her early on. She responded quickly, provided me a fair quote, and was so flexible of us changing flavors or even adding more desserts. We worked with PQ so she can help with floral decor on the cake and she was clear/direct with her needs. Needless to say, our desserts turned out beautiful and delicious! Our guests and Asian parents loved the flavor profile. I was so happy to incorporate Asian flavors such as durian, guava, hojicha, etc.

Unlike Cherylynn N. (https://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=eKUGKQRE-Ywi5dY55_zChg), I'm less inclined to hop in my car for drives in the Bay Area. For reviews in SF and south, she is my go-to read in a heartbeat. So, for now, I've been ordering through a food delivery/pickup service that provides meals from a variety of food vendors throughout the Bay Area. They deliver to a convenient destination about ten to fifteen minutes away (depending on traffic) for Saturday pickups between and 2 and 2:30 pm. Last week, I ordered a couple of items from here. I first tried the lilikoi entremet (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=M_omeZ6uVqvbGJYic2VMjA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) the next day and, besides the visual attractiveness of this fine dining worth dessert, I found this delicious with a good balance between the passion fruit flavor and the mango pieces inside. Several days later, I tried the ube jasmine milk tea entremet (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=NKvhQS2ElJnuMHqmO5ftOg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). Equally visually stunning, I surprisingly liked this even more as the jasmine flavor shines. Not sure whether the filling which was still flavorful but on the dry side suffered due to my waiting too long. Have to pace those sweets calories, you know. I read a little about the chef owner's background and remembered the South Bay bakery/dessert shop where she started. I will order from here again though I'll have to pace myself on this.

    My wedding cake PQ made

My favorite flavors are guava and passion fruit. Guess what?! PQ has a signature flavor with guava and passion fruit!!! And it tastes AMAZING! Her cakes are not too sweet and don't have too much sugary frosting. The guava sponge cake is really moist and delicate. The passion fruit curd tasted perfect. The frosting we chose was a strawberry one instead of the orange. I had tried the orange blossom and loved it but because my husband and I prefer fruits in season, we opted for strawberries because strawberries were in season. The traditional orange blossom would still have been amazing. I don't think you can find another pastry chef like PQ who has unique flavors like guava and passion fruit. I looked far and wide after attending a wedding in Hawaii that had guava cake. The balance of her flavors was exquisite. Also my husband and I took a large segment with us to go and finished eating it over the course of a month. It stayed really well and was such a delight to eat. I also got many compliments from guests who said it was the best cake they had and also never had a cake like hers. We didn't want a traditional flavor and are so happy we were able to get a cake with our favorite tropical flavors. PQ also did us a huge favor with her service of delivery. She had a wedding pretty far away and was able to still give us the wedding cake of our dreams. While I did pay a "premium" price for the delivery, I would expect that having to drive 100ish miles. We had a 3 tier cake and it was delivered in perfect condition. I'm still waiting for photos from my photographer which could take months. But thankfully I have a photo from the wedding planner which I'll include. PQ was easy and flexible to work with on the design. I honestly had no idea really how to design my cake. I just knew I wanted a pop of color with lavender and let her figure out what flowers to use on the cake. It looked like a work of art at our wedding. She was professional and responsive throughout the entire process. Our method of communication was email. This worked perfectly well with us. My wedding planner worked with her directly day of the wedding and had seamless interactions with PQ.

What I had: - Lychee Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice) - Yuzu Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice). Double matcha was not overly strong or caffeinating to me (love that they do not charge extra for this option btw)- my caff tolerance I'd say is relatively high or above average for sure. Surprisingly, at that matcha level the taste is not overly bitter at all. And the regular sweet is perfect (I normally get 50% sweet at boba shops). Same with the ice level, I think their regular ice level is fine (I normally get less ice at boba shops). The Lychee matcha has great lychee taste, not artificial tasting, it's a great blend of both lychee + matcha. The Yuzu is leaning towards the 'lemonade' profile without being overly citrusy. More refreshing than the lychee matcha, but both are refreshing anyways due to the nature of their flavors! I think I prefer the lychee matcha normally, honestly hard to say which flavor is better! I thoroughly enjoyed both these drinks! Their flavors are blended well with the matcha- not overly sweet in flavor, and matcha is great quality while not overly powerful or bitter. Drinks are of course mixed well and composed nearly perfectly. ---How I Rate on Yelp:--- (5 stars): Exceptional!! -- food, service, and atmosphere all outstanding. Worth going out of your way. While the first time was enjoyable, after it just gets repetitive. I love Izumi, but I really wish there was a rotation between drinks.

Both times I've gone were half an hour before closing and the store was packed. The first time I got the Ha Noi Mist and the Lychee Rose, the second time I got the Ha Long Sunset and a limited stock warm specialty dessert with pandan and ube dumplings in a ginger coconut sauce. The Ha Noi Mist's ingredients sounded the most aligned with my personal preferences and I got the Lychee Rose to try something different but refreshing on a warm summer night. I was hesitant to get the Ha Long Sunset since I'm not a fan of jackfruit but Eric voted for it, and also the dumplings since a ginger coconut sauce sounds weird but he said that's what he wanted. Sipping che through a straw definitely beats spooning it. Make sure to thoroughly mix the drink and crush up the ice a bit before indulging. On my first visit I didn't notice the kiosk and ordered with the cashier so I was confused at how I would know when my order is ready because I didn't get a number or a receipt, but I later noticed the screens displaying that information on the wall. I'm a big fan of pandan jelly. The red pearls can be good but can sometimes have a bit of a crunchy chew in the center. Young coconut has a good flavor but a texture that isn't my favorite. I did not like the jackfruit in the Ha Long Sunset, but the flavor wasn't strong enough to ruin the whole dessert. I feel like che is a dessert that is not necessarily expensive or time consuming to produce, and the milk tea/fruit tea prices here are definitely on the pricey end given their component ingredients. Yes I would revisit, especially when I need dessert late, but I feel that making che at home could be the cost-effective alternative.

We walked into a clean, modern space with a casual café feel that works well for stopping by after a meal or meeting up with friends for something sweet. The shop focuses on creative variations of bingsu with toppings ranging from fruit to chocolate, matcha, and other dessert-inspired flavors, and the layout encourages lingering over a shared dessert rather than rushing through a quick stop. The biggest highlight is the texture of the shaved ice itself. The ice is extremely soft and light, melting quickly while still holding the flavors from the toppings and condensed milk. We ordered the Injeolmi Sulbing, which showcases the more traditional side with nutty flavors, and the combination of the fine ice, chewy rice cake, and nutty powder created a dessert that felt both refreshing and satisfying. The Tiramisu and Chocolate Brownie Sulbing turn it into a much more indulgent experience, with richer flavors that feel closer to a full dessert than a light treat. The presentation is impressive, with each bowl arriving looking carefully composed, and the layers of toppings are distributed well enough that you get a good mix in every spoonful. The portions are also a major part of the appeal. A single bingsu is easily shareable, making it a good choice for groups or anyone looking for a dessert to split after a meal. We found that sharing worked well, as the portion was generous enough to satisfy two people without feeling like we were missing out. Beyond bingsu, they also offer items like toast and other sweet treats, which give the menu more variety and make it a place you can visit even if you are not in the mood for shaved ice. The main thing to keep in mind is that the experience depends heavily on the flavor you choose. Some versions rely more on the toppings for their flavor, while others feel more balanced throughout. The presentation is impressive, but certain options may feel less satisfying if you expect every bite to have the same intensity as the first. The fruit-based versions, for example, rely on the freshness of the fruit to carry the dessert, while the chocolate and tiramisu versions have a more consistent richness from the base itself. Sulbing is a great spot for trying Korean-style shaved ice. The unique texture, large portions, and variety of flavors make it stand out from typical dessert shops, especially if you enjoy lighter desserts with creative toppings. The balance of refreshing and indulgent options across the menu gives you room to explore different styles on repeat visits, and the quality of the ingredients makes each bowl feel considered and well composed.

The process was smooth and efficient, making it an easy place to stop by for a quick treat. Another thing I appreciated was the spacious seating area. There was plenty of room to sit and chat, making it a great spot to catch up with friends over dessert. The toppings on the snow dessert were generous and complemented the shaved ice perfectly. Overall, if you're looking for a lighter, more manageable portion of bingsoo that still delivers on flavor, I would definitely recommend checking this place out. The desserts are delicious, the service is quick, and the atmosphere makes it a great place to relax and enjoy something sweet.

This place was on my saved list for a long time…read more Finally got to try the durian milk tea and the crepes here. LOVED them both. The reviews for the drinks are very mixed, specially durian madness. so I was nervous to order it. I chose the milk tea instead . It had chunks of fruit and salted foam at the top. 25% sweetness, less ice was perfect!!! Also tried the hambalang milk tea. It was a good black milk tea with jelly. Nothing too unique. Durian crepes were light , had a good balance of durian and the whip cream .

I enjoyed my durian desserts. It was good, I'm not a fan of a lot of jellies in my drinks. I liked how it was made with coconut milk, durian, and jellies. I just would like my drink to be thicker and less jellies. But, it was still delicious. My sis ordered a Milo drink and wasn't a fan of it. My other sis got a strawberry matcha. She had no complaints. My mom enjoyed her taro dessert but wasn't a fan of the taro, durian, and salted egg. I thought it was overly sweet for my taste. We ordered extra drinks to offer to the monks (there were more than I expected)..oops! It was a warm day and we were all excited to be there. It was overall a great day and to have a place that was had unique Vietnamese drinks was a plus!
