I was accused of violating an order of protection. It did not exist. I was arrested by a sheriff's deputy who was having an affair with my accuser, and my accuser had been arrested a year earlier for physically attacking me and injuring herself in an attempt to set me up to be arrested. He brought up none of that. I had stacks and stacks of evidence; he never looked at one bit of it. I had a felony charge from the same accuser that prosecutors had offered to dismiss, and he even made me plead guilty to that charge so he could keep his other, bigger buddies happy. He did absolutely nothing to defend me. I was locked up, and to get out, I had to plead guilty to charges I was innocent of. Then Russell had the nerve to go to my family and tell them he felt I could beat the charges if we fought them, but he said I didn't want that--that I just wanted to get out of jail at all costs. He lied through his teeth. $10,000 got me two brief meetings moments before scheduled hearings and a criminal record that has burdened my ability to be a father and ended my career as a coach.
