I feel completely misled and taken advantage of by this gym…read more As a 3-month postpartum mom, I engaged in an ad for a free 10 day trial plan at Infinite Martial Arts & Fitness where I was then pressured through AI texts claiming to be "Derek" to sign up for what was presented as a 10-day free trial. After attending just one class, I said I might come back later in the week. I was then told by John to fill out a clipboard at the front and left alone to complete paperwork and provide my banking info, with no clear explanation that I was signing paid membership automatically after the 10 days. The gym experience itself was terrible. I signed up for a boxing class but was placed in a random Muay Thai class with the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor who seemed very uninterested. The coach would demonstrate a technique, tell us to pair up, and then leave us with no guidance. I had to ask multiple times for help and direction--and still received almost no coaching. I never returned after that first visit, yet I've been charged for two months without realizing it. When I reached out, Derek, the owner, refused to refund me and said maybe he would have if I had called sooner. This feels deceptive, disorganized, and poorly handled. Be very cautious

That is what open gym time is for unless previously arranged and approved. Just some perspective for you. I do agree with this review on every other level about the overall professionalism at this facility and the shady business practices and I am sorry you had to endure that. I suspect their 100+ google reviews were paid for or were requested by members, family or friends in the hope of inflating the credibility of this facility. All fitness facilities should be held to a thorough process of high operational standards before they are permitted to open and operate, and during their entire time of operation, to ensure members are taken care of and the right things are happening. My heart goes out to everyone affected by the poor management of this facility, and I hope everyone involved is able to heal from what sounds like a pretty toxic environment.

After recently moving to the Oswego area, I was having great difficulty finding morning care for both my 10-year old son and my 17-year old son with autism. The peace of mind that I now have knowing that my boys are safe and well cared for is just priceless. Even the occasional half-day, early dismissal, or delayed start to school can be accommodated with ease by the staff. My youngest just began taking after school Taekwondo classes, and is really benefitting from the physical activity, positive interactions with his peers and instructors, and the character education embedded within the martial arts lessons. As a part of the community, they also work with local schools and sponsor special activities such as a recent evening focused on preventing bullying.

Most of the other people working out mind their own business but some of them just try to pick fights with you about how you aren't doing certain things right or are in the way. (WHICH IS WHAT PLANET FITNESS SAYS DOESNT HAPPEN) I tried to talk to staff about it and they did NOTHING. And the harassment continued and continued until I decided to not go anymore. Their tanning beds aren't properly cleaned, their massage beds are kinda cool though! I liked how cheap it was but I guess you get what you pay for in this aspect... Overall I enjoyed it for a month or so and then just lost it after all the bad experiences.

Staff are nice, and people keep to themselves when working out, which is great for me, since am sorta an introvert socially shy. But after going long stretches, people have say hi, usually small chats and the like. I like the TVs you can watch and listen via headphones when on treadmills and bikes, but I usually bring a device to watch netflix, so like stay on the treadmill for a duration of a show. I never really met anyone rude, and as a big guy, that was a big fear. Also love that showers are curtained stalls, and have changerooms for shy type like me. I pay the extra for use of the massage bed and lounger, which feels great. Only fault, I live far away, and there is no bike rack, so I can only go on certain hours to lock up at fence so avoid possible theft. But when Im there, some days I find am there for almost an hour, and leave feeling better about myself. Oh yes, I also tried the Training group, I felt awkward, but trainer was nice and helpful and encouraging and never felt shamed...the awkward as just on myself and my self confidence. I recommend going, and is affordable...I just pay extra for the perks and to bring a guest, especially good for a friend who can give you a lift, or to share with a loved one or friend. So a set amount per month, and a yearly fee too. Also is nicely beside No Frills, so can work out, then do my groceries for the week. Two birds, One Stone.
