While driving home, we noticed this coffee shop and I'm so happy we decided to stop by! Coffee 8/10 We ordered an iced cafe de olla and a quad Ibarra mex mocha. Both were soo flavorful. I will say, the cafe de olla is very spice forward. I taste a lot of cloves and star anise. A bit different than others I've had but I really liked it. The mex mocha was smooth and rich. I did see that their slushies are highly rated and now that it's getting hot, we'll def be back to try them! Food 10/10 They don't have food items on their menu but there are baked goods! We ordered a cream croissant looking muffin and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were warmed up and were absolutely delicious. Vibes/Ambiance : 10/10 We came on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. There were people working there as they have free wifi and outlets. The decor and vibe is cute! They have art on the walls, pictures, plants, community flyers/events, and statements that make you feel safe and at home. The staff is so friendly and welcoming too! There is a little parking lot right next to the shop and we didn't find it hard to find a spot. There is a park next door so I can imagine on the weekends, parking might be a bit tricker. Parking in the little lot next to the shop was difficult to find on a Saturday morning (11-12pm) but check down the street, adjacent to the park. Menu is simple with the classics (espresso, americanos, cappuccinos, and lattes) and some speciality coffees like the Ibarra Mex Mocha. Prices are pretty reasonable - especially for the quality. It was busy when I went in so wait time was about 10-15 mins after ordering. I also bought one of their syrups - not really sure how much I paid for it but maybe about $15? It's hard to find good 4th wave type single origin coffee in LA unless you're in the pocket of DTLA, Echo Park and out west towards Santa Monica. It's great to see Patria in this part of town that has great quality single origin coffee. Located alongside the Alameda Corridor, you wouldn't expect such a place in a semi industrial area. The cold brew here serving up coffee beans from Nicaragua was smooth and refreshing. Seating here somewhat minimal with patrons on their computers and chilling. This was a super small cafe! Parking was super limited and the cafe was not busy. The staff were super friendly and the service was extremely fast. We ordered the Vanilla Bean Iced Latte and the Hazelnut Iced Latte and both were really tasty. They both had a lot of flavor, but the vanilla latte could have been a bit more creamy! When we got there they didn't have a great selection of snack items to choose from so we only got the coffee. I was unsure of what to order and so I explained to her the flavor I was looking for, and she was able to tell me what to order and how to enhance the flavor that I was looking for. Came here on a Saturday afternoon to get some tea and coffee and to check this place out. I am not a coffee drinker so I got their Citrus Chamomile ($4) iced. It was very refreshing, but I'm not sure I could taste the citrus part of it. Way more Chamomile in my opinion. My husband got an Americano with a Cafe De Olla syrup ($3.75). The syrup tasted like a horchata! So combined with the coffee, which had a nice layer of cinnamon on top, my husband thought it was delicious. It was also iced. The menu isn't extensive, but they have a good selection of coffee and syrups. They also have a kids section with hot chocolate and slushies. There's some chairs and tables inside for people to relax and sit down. The cashier was really friendly and helped us pick out something she thought we'd like. 4++ great neighborhood coffee shop that has fun, chill vibes, and enthusiastic service. There's fun decor inside and looks like a place where people can hang out or get some reading and/or work done. I only got an Americano or drip from here (with added cream), so I can't really speak to the food items or any of the more complex, possibly more sugary drinks here. We went to Patria Coffee Roasters located in Compton, CA. After hearing many good reviews, we felt like we had to explore this coffee shop! The coffee show is P.O.C owned and roasts their own coffee! We ordered their iced Cafe de Olla with oatmilk! This drink contains cinnamon. The first few sips of the drink were pretty pleasant, capturing the hint of spices inside the drink. We thought the piloncillo flavor was very strong. The drink wasn't overly sweet and stayed true to the coffee taste. The drink was decent and a usual go-to drink. It was enjoyable. We also got the iced Ibarra Mex Mocha. This drink is very bitter as they use natural chocolate. There is a hint of sweetness to the drink, but it falls more to the stronger side of bitter flavors. Along with the bitter chocolate is the coffee adding more bitterness to the drink. The drink is very silky from the milk, which makes it good in texture. We enjoyed the drinks we had and would recommend this location if in the area, but because we are reviewers, we will admit that we were not "wow-ed." Their pastries were good, providing their own pastries. We ordered a passion fruit and lemon danish. I work at the Compton Courthouse and didn't want to drive to Starbucks. My colleague did a search for a coffee place within walking distance and Patria came up, so we walked the three or so blocks. It's a small business and I don't believe it's a chain. I ordered the quad shot with sugar free vanilla and light ice. It was perfect! The person at the counter was very patient with this "novice" and the ambiance was extremely cozy and comfortable. But the MVP was this amazing cookie! Two visits so far. Both on a weekday around 1030am. Prime time! Both times they said they're out of half & half. What!? A coffee shop that's out of half & half? Truly disappointing. Iykyk. I think they should make this a must have in their supplies. Customers would def pay a few extra cents up charge for it as an alternative milk. I ordered a hot lavender vanilla latte and wanted it made with half & half (breve). Had to settle for whole milk. The drink was very good! The syrups were tasty without being overly sweet and the espresso had a great smooth flavor. I would've loved a creamier drink with steamed half & half.
