My issues with Michael and his office are due to poor communication, lack of accountability, and disrespect towards his client. I've been extremely patient with his office and when I called Michael to express my frustration with his handling of my case, his response was to talk over me in a disrespectful manner and say that I should find another attorney. On several occasions, I requested to know my balance of the retainer. Michael's response was that he does not give an update on how many hours he's worked until the retainer is fully used. Typically, any time an attorney works on a case, they keep track of the hours spent and invoice the client at the end of the month. I've never heard of not being able to know how much of your retainer you have left. Another red flag, Michael charged me to write letters to my sister's attorney for any offers or counter offers that I made for the property, which I'm more than okay with. What I was not okay with is that when it came to receiving the offer's from my sister, he would not provide me with the letters in writing. Which led to instances where he misquoted her offer amounts to me. It was also common to go weeks without hearing an update from Michael's office, so I'd have to reach out to get them to re-engage with my sister's attorney or provide me some sort of next action steps. I've attached screenshots of the emails where there was no response from his office even after I'd reached out several times, not to mention the bi-weekly calls into his office again with no updates. Also, I question how legit the 5-star reviews are, for example, Laura Hunter is his secretary(her name is in the screenshots). DO NOT BE FOOLED.
