I think I spent around 4 or 5 years looking for a brilliant stylist who would actually listen to me and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Then I found Bliss in my own backyard. Its owner, Julieann, is the only person I will EVER let near my hair now. And at £7 for a funky style, just the way I like it, it's become absolute favourite hairdressers. The staff are lovely and you're always guaranteed to have a laugh when you visit as they talk about what they did last weekend!

I wish I had just walked out and not looked back, but I hate confrontation and didn't like to say. I had a very similar experience to the other lady who reviewed, I happened to go here on a one off, after a recommendation from someone else. To cut a long story short, I wanted a side fringe, with some blonde highlights through my hair and a trim. What I got was a full fringe with orange highlights and ended up getting about four inches taken off my hair when all I asked for was a trim. Also, the lady barely spoke a word to me throughout my sitting, which made things very uncomfortable. I'm really self conscious about my hair and was very upset about this, at the time. I appreciate that I might have just had a one off, but I'm sorry, I won't be recommending.

The big time I am talking about is of course the chance to be the regular cutter of my thick ginger mop. Yesterday I thought I would give The Male Room a shot. I have actually been here before a few years ago but since then it has moved down the street in to new premises. Their new premises is a lot bigger than the old one and they've slightly changed their name to the Male/Female Room. While I was waiting a few ladies checked in at the counter for their hair appointments. No appointment necessary if you're a bloke, you just rock up, hope that there's no one in front of you and in no time you'll be strutting out of the shop looking a million dollars. I was in and out in 25 minutes and that was with 2 people in the queue in front of me. The hair cut itself was great. Last month I paid double the price for practically the same haircut. The Male Room only charges £10 for a gents cut which is a bargain in this day and age. I think the Male Room will get another shot at cutting my hair! One thing I particularly liked about the Male Room is the décor, Northern Irish sports memorabilia hangs on the walls and they have an old school American Juke Box blasting out the tunes while you wait.
