I had received no notice, confirmation, or prior communication from Servpro or anyone else involved in the project indicating that a plumber was scheduled to arrive today. Let me be clear: He did knock on the door, but he did not ring the doorbell, which would have triggered my security system notification. When no one answered, he proceeded to let himself into my home without consent. My 19-year-old daughter was home and asleep in her bedroom, unaware that a stranger had entered the house. When I questioned him, he stated: "This is my fourth house today--I don't even remember," and admitted he didn't see a doorbell, even though he previously claimed he knocked AND rang the bell. When I called ServPro, they confirmed they were also not informed of his scheduled visit. This is an unacceptable breach of safety, privacy, and protocol. No individual should be entering a home without explicit permission, especially when no notice has been given to the homeowner or the rebuild team coordinating the project.
