I'm a male in my 20s who went in for a blood clot issue in my right leg. I was unable to walk for a month because of the swelling and blood clot. I was desperate to see a Hematologist as every other office was booked for months. I went for my first visit on crutches and Dr. Sahebi consulted me and told me to get my knee drained and see her in 10 days. As I was setting up the next visit, the guy who handles the billing rushes to me and states that I owe them $189 for the services today (consultation). I told him I had insurance and that I should have met my deductible because I had gone to 2 ER visits, seen 3 specialists and my primary twice already before this visit. He told me that I actually did owe them $189. Not know that he was going to actually submit a separate claim for the same service to my insurance, I paid up front. I then return 10 days later to do the blood work to see if there are any clotting disorders I have and was charged 10% of the service charge, which he said was $25. After a couple weeks, I noticed that the charges were all wrong. I saw in my claims that I owed my insurance $18 for the first service that I paid $189 for, and $14 for the second service I paid $25 for. That means that I paid $200 over what I should have, AND the doctor's office was ready to get paid twice for the same services. I went over to speak with the billing guy and because I confronted the man about the mistakes and asked him to speak with the insurance representative I had on the phone, he stated "I do not have time for this I am leaving. I don't care about this right now" and pushes me out of the office as I am trying to get him to speak with my insurance representative. PHYSICALLY PUSHING ME OUT OF THE OFFICE, YELLING AT ME, AND ASSAULTING ME! I have been dealing with this knee issue for months now and the very doctor's office that is supposed to be aiding me in figuring out the problem is causing more harm by pushing me. I went to the police and filed a report with them and even asked for emergency medical care because my knee started aching and I started fearing that it was a repeat of what had happened in the past. I have also filed a report to the business board and licensing board regarding the matter as well. I am not sure where he learned his business etiquette but this is not something I am familiar with. She listens and really gives you the time and space to get to the heart of what the problem is. I never felt rushed, even though I know she is incredibly busy. The staff is always prompt and on time. The office manager has guided me through questions regarding insurance with a great deal of expertise. He is very approachable, goes out of his way to make sure to minimize my out of pocket, and always helps me organize what procedures need to be done. The nurses in her office are very caring and helpful. The receptionist is always friendly, efficient, and professional. I see her as a hematologist but would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a hematologist or oncologist.

I was a patient for about a year ending in 2012. We're trying to "fire" him for subsequent surgery (unrelated), but so far no luck finding anyone willing to take over. My family and I have worked with lots of local doctors and hospitals, starting with our parents, kids, and ourselves. Out of all those doctors, he's probably been the worst to deal with. There were so many problems with his practice, from having him not show up for scheduled appointments, to staff who gave out conflicting information, to lots of overlapping or duplicated tests, classes, and so on. Apparently this is a big moneymaker for the other doctors and medical facilities they you refer you to for many, many tests. They're also pushing you to buy food supplements and so on through them, for example. One outfit they referred us to for food supplements was not only out of business, but our credit card information was apparently stolen when we placed an "order." He uses some assistant who's not covered by our insurance, so we had to pay him separately. He's also lax about sending us copies of the results from the various tests, etc. No matter how many forms you fill out, he never remembers important details about your history, which isn't good. Something went wrong during the operation, so I ended up in intensive care for several extra days, then he tried to force me to stay another weekend because he didn't want to come in to sign the forms to release me. He never explained what went wrong and he only showed up once while I was conscious -- mostly to play grabass with the staff. The other people I see all laughed when they saw the paperwork he gave me for my prescriptions -- you couldn't even read it and the other doctors crossed lots of things off because they weren't right. (He prescribed insulin, for example, but no prescription for the needles.) Apparently, although this is all he does, he has no actual experience with what happens after the surgery, so the information and classes we had to go to were a complete waste of time. Frankly, we found out lots more from other doctors and the internet. If I had to get this surgery again, I'd stay out of the Inova system altogether.

When I went back 6 months after the operation I went to a meeting of other recovering patients. I found every single patient had lost about 150 lbs. I had lost 34 lbs. I went to him and explained my concern. He didn't ask me any other questions and announce I wasn't eating properly. I told join I hate only what I was told by his nutritionist. He then said "well then you're not exercise enough. I said I was doing about an hour a day. He said well then you should be losing weight. I haven't been back. I've kept the 34 lbs off but nothing else.

The doctors also deny me the only pain medicine that works for my 11/10 pain I have to LIVE WITH because they told me to just "deal with the pain". Instead of giving me the medicine that stops my chemo induced ALL body pain. Simply if you are over 18 with cancer DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOSPITAL they are SO rude and DONT CARE about their patients like they claim they do. You ARE a statistic. After filling out my paperwork I think I waited only 5 minutes. After being called back I was so happy to see this lab had Siemens Healthineers machine for my CT scan!!! Quality equipment! My technician talked me through what angle to hold my body at and then she left the room and the machine ran its scans. Quick and easy under minutes! If I have to get more imaging done I'm definitely scheduling here!
