    More shoe repair items!

Friendly service and great work! What more can you ask for? I brought in a pair of heels to get the heel tip replaced and they took care of it as promised and for a fair price. All staff were friendly too! I'll definitely be back for repairs in the future!

Update: she took the sign down from the glass cabinet when I went back two minutes later. Also, forgot to mention she was blowing me sarcastic kisses as I left. Just rude. I always want to support local biz but Mary takes the cake here. I won't be back.

    unrequested polish, ruined the boots

When I got my first real job I took a vacation to visit a dear friend in San Antonio, while there I decided to splurge on a pair of cowboy boots, I loved them dearly and I would never spend so much money on an item of clothing. I rarely wore them because I was worried that I would damage them, they never came out in the rain and definitely never in the snow. They had a unique, vintage-like finish; one of the reasons I liked them so much. A few months ago I was in Memphis and noticed that the cap of the heel had fallen off, my husband works close to Paul's and offered to take them in to get the heels fixed. The price and turnaround were very reasonable. I don't know why, but the cobbler decided to polish the boots, bright red. When my husband sent me a photo, I almost started crying. He went back and alerted the store of the mistake, while they were sorry and attempted to fix them, I still want to cry when I see them. I'm not sure if I'll ever wear them again and it pains me to have such a beloved purchase ruined.

My boots restored by Doug. They were completely destroyed after a winter on a construction site.

What a hidden gem. My old go-to guy in Naperville sold out to Taco Bell and retired. They're…read moreactually closer to me here. Prompt reasonable friendly service, obviously keeps him busy. I had received an expensive pair of shoes for a gift. I didn't wear them initially and they fell apart once I did. Kuru (brand) wouldn't take them back because it was past their warranty time. Kinda shitty thing to do after buying dozens of them over the years. Fortunately I have a new pair of shoes for just $14. It's a little tricky to find but just look for office/restroom signs near H&M entrance to the mall on 2nd floor, and head down the hallway. They carry all kinds of accessories for your feet/shoe needs.

Not only did Jose Verde have suitable shoelaces in stock, but he also did a great job of shining my two pairs of dress shoes in only half an hour and at a great price! Since then, I have been back to Yorktown Shoe Repair twice - once for a further shoe-shining, and once to have one of my pairs of dress shoes repaired and to buy accessories for shoe care. And again, Jose did the necessary work in the agreed-upon time and at an eminently fair and affordable price - and he did a GREAT job, too. He also has a great selection of quality accessories for shoes, including shoe polish, shoe applicators, shoe brushes, shine cloths, anti-slide guards (for shoes with "slippery" soles), shoe horns, and, of course, shoe laces. He and his wife are both very personable and very professional. I do like Tony's Shoe Clinic in Oak Park and Lou's Shoe and Luggage Service in Park Ridge - but, given where I now live and where I now work and where I now go to church (every day of the week) I'm very happy to have this hidden gem of Yorktown Shopping Center right on the way to and fro. STRONGEST POSSIBLE POSITIVE RECOMMENDATION for Yorktown Shoe Repair Center, located on the upper level of the mall, on the west side of the complex (right down the same hall as the mall offices and the upstairs men's and women's restrooms, in fact). And I'm going to continue to go to Yorktown Shoe Repair Center for all of my shoe-repair and shoe-accessory needs!!!!!
