Pumpkin Spice Latte & Almond Croissant
    Shannon D.

This was our first time at this Pause location. Parking is pretty tight but we lucked out with front row parking! The girls working were welcoming and helped by answering a couple questions we had about the menu. We decided on the Pumpkin Spice Latte, Banana Foam Matcha and Strawberry Lemonade. We also ordered an Almond Croissant to share. My PSL was the perfect balance of coffee and pumpkin spice. The Banana Matcha was yummy! My little loved her Strawberry Lemonade (she said it wasn't too sour). And the croissant was lovely! We're already taking about what we want to try next visit!

    iced dirty chai

stopped in to get a dirty chai on the way to our destination so made a quick stop here and omg they have the best dirty chai i've had! the ambience is really nice if you're they're to study or do a few work emails. the bartender was friendly! i didn't ask her name but blonde a with cute tattoos made my visit! there was a couple in front of me before i out in my order and another cashier with brunette hair said "coming in as we're closing is crazy" which made me feel bad immediately :( but the bartender who helped me quickly shifted my experience with kindness and for that, i thank her :) i asked for a hot dirty chai and she made an iced one by accident but that's okay because she let me keep it and made a hot one in addition so now my husband and i have a quick pick-me-up!

Great matcha: smooth, bitter enough but enjoyable, and vibrant. Service was okay, but ambiance was spectacular.

Strawberry matcha was pretty good and the service was fast. It was a tad expensive for a small matcha but overall did enjoy the drink. If I was in the area again, I'd probably come back.

Strawberry matcha and banana dream matcha

I got an iced the banana dream matcha and my friend got the strawberry matcha. Both drinks were really good! I really enjoyed my banana one! Once we order we got our drinks pretty quick which was nice. I will say in regard to pricing it was a little on the expensive side. But overall it was a nice ambiance and drinks were good!

Chicken caesar salad wrap and my favorite iced butterscotch oatmilk latte
    Taylor N.

Overall, this is probably my favorite coffee shop in Rocklin. I always order an iced butterscotch oatmilk latte and I add cinnamon. The lattes are always amazing and I also love their chicken caesar wrap. (I find they don't normally put enough ice so I usually ask for extra.) The downsides to this place though are occasionally the attentiveness of the staff, as I've come in a few times and waited awhile before being acknowledged by a staff member. They aren't normally all that cheerful or friendly, but I take that with a grain of salt. They also don't always call out your order when your drink is ready, even when you're standing in front of the pickup counter, so be mindful of that. The coffees are a bit pricey, as I pay $7.75 for the larger size, but overall, this never stops me from coming back. I hope Pause stays around for a long time!

I got the iced butterscotch latte and while it doesn't taste exactly like butterscotch, it's quite a delicious iced coffee. However, as seen in the picture, the second butterscotch latte I got for my friend was a different, light color and did not taste as good. The baristas were very nice and lovely. The interior is very spacious with lots of seating. This would be a wonderful place to study or have a coffee date with some friends.

    Great stop for coffee.

Went to this little coffee shop with no anticipation of what it would be like. Very nice setting atmosphere is wonderful. Good temperature regulation. Excellent area to sit outside clean neat. Staff are very friendly. I had a honey lavender latte and it was excellent. highly recommended. Plan on spending 6.00 to $6.50 depending on what you buy so it is a reasonable price!

Vanilla rose latte (almond milk), vanilla iced latte (whole milk)
    Jessica D.

We stopped by while running errands on a whim and it turned out to be a fantastic decision...one of the best iced lattes I've had! Their iced vanilla latte with whole milk? SO GOOD. The right milk-forward and sweet balance that I like. The vanilla rose latte with almond milk was my boyfriend's favorite- it was good, but I found the iced one to be smoother. Would definitely come back.

Great coffee, my husband and I tried the vanilla latte with oat milk and the vanilla bourbon cardamom latte. Both were really good.

    Delicious Honey Oat Milk Latte!!!
    Dee B.

Back today and had the MOST PERFECT honey oat milk latte with beautiful latte art heart! Perfect temperature and made to PERFECTION!! I LOVED THE ALMOND CROISSANT! So fresh and filled with almond and tastes just like those I had in Italy last month (only flat which makes it easier to eat!) The place had a number of people enjoying their purchase and having quiet conversation in the various seating areas. Great morning on 8/31/24!

Best matcha is from Offbeat coffee in sac, but the double at Gu Ca Phe is just as good and has its own unique charm. Worth the price, worth the drive! Amazing. If I got it with normal sweetness, I don't think I'd love it as much. Long version: Cute little spot in an unsuspecting location. I don't live in Roseville but was here for an appointment so I stopped by since this place has been on my list. After trying dozens of matchas in Sacramento and surrounding areas, this one definitely rivals the top spot. It's a small location and the service was nice and pretty standard. They also have a kiosk so you can take extra time to scroll through the menu with photos. Not a fan of the AI artwork throughout if I'm being honest but I know it's a sign of the times. And I'm glad their drinks actually do look pretty damn close to the photos unlike other businesses. I got the regular size double matcha, less sweet. If it was regular sweetness, I don't think I'd like it as much. The matcha is good quality, seems like it was freshly handwhisked but not sure. It is strong without being astringent. The matcha cream is amazing and strong as well. You def have to love matcha to enjoy this one. It's going to be stronger than something you find at Starbucks of course. I love matcha to hit me in the face so this drink was perfect. They have the good ice, too ! A similar matcha I've tried, and is my personal #1 across dozens I've tried, is from Offbeat Coffee (x2 matcha). Gu Ca Phe has finessed something similar and I honestly feel like it would be worth the drive from West Sac to Roseville just for Gu Ca Phe's double matcha. I want to try their other drinks. The sugar croiffle was delicious, too!

The interior is small but clean and brightly lit. The coffee is good but weaker than I expect when getting Vietnamese coffee. It is phin dripped, and the classic flavor is there, but less creamy texture. Traditionally the brew is very strong and mixed with condensed milk only - the ice in this instance is necessary to balance the boldness. In this coffee, between the added milk and large amount of ice, it is watered down and not the full bodied experience you would expect. Overall still a good cup, and probably the best you can get in the immediate area, but not wholly satisfying if you are seeking the traditional Vietnamese coffee flavor.

They didn't load it up with ice like most do. Overall, would go back but probably wouldn't crave it too often. It's more creamier than it is fruity which I don't always lean towards. Also, not as strong caffeine wise. The service itself was fine. I do agree with the other reviews about the staffs attitude. The girl who took my order was kind and made our pup cup from scratch but as a whole, it feels like they took the girls who worked at Brandy Melville and placed them here instead.
