Let's just say, the experience well exceeded expectations. The food is incredible and the service, second to none!

The night that we went, they had a DJ playing, which added another level to the vibes. This seems like a versatile spot, good for both larger groups or intimate dinners. My friend and I started our meal with the soft shell crab bao buns. These were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend. For our mains, we split the Korean fried chicken, duck breast burnt ends, baby bok choy, and Japanese sweet potato. Every single thing we had was tasty! The chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned. The duck breast was cooked well, and the sauce was a perfect complement. My favorite item was the Japanese sweet potato comes topped with white miso and black sugar better. The flavors melded together so perfectly and the potato was savory. The presentation at the table was also interesting. In addition to the food, we each ordered a couple of cocktails. Both the funky monkey and Pyro drinks were well made, with another great table presentation when served. While there was a rowdy party next to our table that annoyed us, the food, drinks and service from beginning to end more than made up for that. I highly recommend stopping here for a meal and some drinks if you ever find yourself in Mexico City.

Yes, it is that good. Everything on the menu is delicious: from the gyoza, tempura, and omusubi, all the way to the last pages that include the teriyaki bowls and makis, there is nothing that is not worth trying, and almost everything will make you want to order seconds. Here, the dishes that incorporate Unagui, or eel, are very special, and these alone merit a visit. With that characteristic sweet and savory flavor, the Unagui Especial roll is absolutely fantastic, and it can disappear with as much grace piece by piece as it's presentation on the plate. The Unagui Don is equally delicious, and might be a better choice if you are looking for something more filling, and are trying to not look like a complete glutton by ordering roll after roll of the Unagui Especial. The Nevado Especial roll is also a great and delicious choice, the Teriyaki Don is wonderful and delectable, and pretty much anything you order here is sure to be a delight to the palate. As a bonus, order a virgin Piña Colada for a sweet and refreshing drink that almost qualifies as a dessert. And so Ichiban remains as 'the first' in my list of Japanese comfort food. どうもありがとう!
