PLEASE think twice before bringing loved ones to Pax-Villa Funeral Home in Orlando, Florida
On Sunday, August 2, 2020, my family attended the service of our aunt at Pax-Villa USA Funeral Home in Orlando. As the service ended, our aunt's casket was being transported to the hearse, my cousin asked if he could have his mother's tapestry. Rather than the employee either giving my cousin the tapestry or explain another reason as to why he could not, he was very rude, disgruntled and aggressive with my cousin. As I witnessed, I tried telling both employees my cousin was the son of the deceased. After multiple attempts, one of the employee, turns and looks right into my face and says "I don't care" then pulled the tapestry from my cousin with such a force, while the other employee lays hands on my cousin, and things got out of control. The employee who disregarded me then pushes me out of the way to go fight my family members. He pushed me with such a force, I was behind the casket at the exit door on his side, I ended back on the inside of the funeral home and hit the table on the wall. He not only pushed me out of the way to go fight my family, he also pushed the casket to the point it tilted and another female cousin of mine had to run to the casket to keep it from falling. I also ran to the casket and held it as tight as I could until it stopped rocking. These two workers of Pax-Villa disregarded there were women and children around, left my aunt's casket to go fight my family, literally pushing anyone in their way. They totally disregarded that an entire family was in mourning or the fact they had a job to do. Leaving my family in total shock, hurt and forever traumatized that the memory of celebrating the life our aunt ended in such a way. The funeral director says to me as I was verbal on the unprofessionalism of her employees that, "at the end of the day, their job is to protect the casket." She was apparently unaware of what was taking place. My response to her was that your employees left the casket, and left the casket to go fight a family already hurting. So exactly how were they doing their job? As things were cooling down, the employee who was the initial aggressor came out, and tried to fight another cousin of mine, making verbal threats. The employee was doing this in front of the casket trying to reach across it to get to my cousin. An older man, also of Pax-Villa held him and took him away. At this time, I am standing at the side of my aunt's casket hysterically crying and begging them not to let her casket fall because once again it was left unsupervised. At the same time, my aunt's eldest daughter is standing behind the casket, crying, shocked, witnessing what is occurring, goes into a full seizure-like panic attack and had to be carried away. The funeral director then comes next to me and says it was not going to fall while she and another woman pushed it into the hearse while the older man came back and joined them. That same employee, the initial aggressor, three days prior, my cousin (daughter of the deceased), her fiancé, my sister and I went to visit the corpse to make sure we were satisfied with how everything looked, met us with pure unprofessionalism. We were 15 minutes late for our 2pm appointment. He walks up to us and says, "y'all know ya was supposed to be here at 2?" I replied yes. He looks at the four of us then walks away. We are a family in mourning, finalizing our loved ones funeral arrangements, and this was the greeting we received from a place promising proper care of our loved one. We were so caught off guard, however, really did not have the time to entertain his rudeness, we all just ignored his ignorance. The Funeral Home was unfortunately more concerned with condoning the behavior of their workers and putting blame elsewhere. You hired two very unprofessionals who should not be employed with any company whose focus is family centered. For what reason other than a lack of sincerity? Your actions have been proven deceptive and your apology, insincere. No family deserves this. read more
