ok, I've been contacted by a few people, including the Better Business Bureau...Specifics: items mysterious disappeared during the work hours(rx meds), house keys mysteriously disappeared, measurements were off resulting in ill-fitting cabinetry, split cabinet walls by poorly positioned screws; mysterious extra screws placed in the wall for no reason (which they offered to fix, but never sent anyone), a plumber who couldn't figure out how to reassemble our stove (!!), and finally, although Sean and Stephanie could not have been nicer, a failure to take responsibility for any of their screwups. Like expecting a fine meal from McDonalds, it just was unrealistic to to expect good or even acceptable results from this company. read more

We felt welcomed into the Payless family by Sean our sales specialist. The demo team Jose and Maria were amazing left everything impeccable. Sergio and his team did my floors they moved my furniture and did all the heavy lifting for the installation my floors look amazing. Next came Andy and his team I had an emergency and had to go to the hospital I left them with my son and they completed the counter install and backsplash and i am so happy how it turned out. I was comfortable leaving them in my house with little supervision from my son. I love my kitchen and flooring and how bright my house looks. So far everything is going moving ahead of schedule. There are couple of "miscommunication" and I'll admit, I should have been more detailed when I signed the contract but Project Manager Carlos is really doing his best to fix these miscommunications. TIMELINE - so far AMAZING! Carlos was able to start demo 8 days earlier than the original quoted date when I signed the contract. DEMO was very clean and efficient - Unforeseen circumstance - one of the crew called out sick that AM but it still happened. Demo guy walked in and asked me why the appliances and sink are still hooked up. I said no one told me I had to remove it myself. He called to PM Carlos and boom- done! But the appliances and old sink that I thought was included on the demo was left behind. It was explained to me that the "installation" of appliances, sink and faucet are not included but I only assumed that the removal was included since it's called demolition. TIP: If you are looking into changing your appliances and expecting disposal make sure you inquire and make it clear. Tomorrow is the delivery and installation of the cabinets. One week after demolition :) So far it's been a great experience with Project Manager Carlos. He goes out of his way to make it happen. 5star for PM Carlos! But I would like to change my original stars for Contract Guy Sean to 4 because of he miscommunication I am just realizing. read more

I am very happy with my remodel of the kitchen. I have had many compliments on the cabinets and counter tops. I had original cabinets and tile from 1965 and was very happy to jump into the 21st century! All of the people I worked with were very helpful and always let me know what was going to happen and were for the most part always on time. We just finished a major remodel of our kitchen, laundry room and powder room and are really happy with the results. Our kitchen was last updated in the 70's and was literally falling apart. I went with this company for a new shower because they said they were fast and easy (no hassles, the decision-making process was kept to a minimum, and they would be done in a few days). Rather than the 4 day promise, the shower removal & installation took 21 days! They did not offer a discount or any money back. During the installation, the "expert" couldn't figure out how to bridge the gap between where the new shower ended and the old floor began. As a result, they offered to install a discounted floor. I was okay with this solution, until I saw the result (see picture). There is still a weird gap between the end of the shower and the NEW floor - but now I've paid $475 more. When I asked about how they could help me since the shower installation had taken 21 days and now I had invested 475 more dollars into it with no real solution to the gap problem, they said they couldn't do anything about it. The problems didn't end there. Since installation - I have had to call them back out TWICE. Once because the shelf they installed (for shampoo and such) completely detached from the wall. And a second time because the guy who came out did not adequately caulk the main shower body. There is a long crack along the corner of the shower, so I fear water will leak into it and cause moisture damage behind the walls. Overall, I am pleased to have a shower that is not moldy (pretty low bar) but I am not pleased with how long the service took, the quality of the job, or their lack of customer service care when they did not meet their end of the deal (quick & easy). I knowingly paid more for these guys because of that promise, but it ended up being neither quick nor easy. Be warned! read more

First, let me start by stating that I chose your company because of the wonderful reviews. But our experience has been less than favorable. We started out with Haig who was absolutely wonderful. He than introduced us to Carlos, the "design consultant". At 1st, he seemed very capable. But then measurements were wrong and he did not respond to text messages. And he definitely did not respond to my emails, which is my preferred method of correspondence. Let me start with the excuses why the workers didn't show up: 1. Emergency in family which wasn't even communicated to me until about 3-4 hours after he was supposed to show up. 2. The tile guy was in an accident and totaled his vehicle. But yet, the next time he came over, he was driving the same vehicle. 3. Another family emergency; again a no-show. 4. And I believe there was another incident, but I can't remember off the top of my head. Let's talk about the gas line. It was installed in the wrong place so they moved it. Did they ever fix the hole? That would be no. Did they paint the wall behind the stove? That would be no. Reason being "no one will see it". The paint job itself is totally unacceptable. But Caroline informed me via text "there will be no more painting. We are done painting." There is a laundry list of things that are wrong. Not once did anyone come to inspect their work. And because I didn't pay the complete balance because they didn't do a complete job, they threatened to put a lien on my property. But we have recourses as well. read more

We wanted to replace our cabinets and countertops. After contacting several companies in my area, I was surprised by prices I was quoted. I received a card in the mail with a picture of a nice kitchen with crown molding and a reasonable price from Payless Kitchen Cabinets. So I gave them a call. Payless Kitchen Cabinets' quote was much much less than the other companies. I went to the showroom, so I could see the cabinets and ask questions . The cabinets are made of wood, I found out later that the filler isn't wood. Nevertheless, my remodeled kitchen is pretty impressive. Friends and family described it as "Beautiful". read more

I would like to thank Yeran our coordinator for making sure everything I needed done in my kitchen was taken care of. A special Thank You to Sam the cabinet installer for doing a very nice job with our cabinets and taking care of all the touch ups that were needed. Sam just wanted us to be happy and whatever we needed he was a phone call away. Jose did a nice job on our recess lighting. Hector did need to come back to do a minor adjustment to our quartz, and it did stay nicely. Now we are just waiting for Ramon to come and do a minor fix to our flooring. All in all With any home improvement there will be minor errors and adjustments needed, and workers will need to come back until a client is 100% satisfied. If you don't like high-pressure sales type people coming to your house, then look somewhere else. A few things that bothered me: I made an appointment on the phone for a 2 hour time window. The day before the appointment, they called me and had the wrong time written down, said they'd call me back but never did. I thought it wasn't going to happen until the sales guy coming called me 30 minutes before coming. I was on the road and had to come back, but whatever, no big deal. I didn't end up using them to remodel our kitchen because I didn't like the way the sales guy who came to my house was trying to pressure me to commit using them. He wanted me to make a decision right there and then. It was like being at a car dealership. The special on the 10x10 ft kitchen remodel price is misleading. We have a galley kitchen that's 16x6 or so, and they said it would cost me 1.6x times the price, because the length of the longest wall is 1.6 times longer than 10 feet, even though the width is under 10 feet and I didn't need any work done for half of one of the walls. I had assumed the 10x10 would mean the price is based on a kitchen that's 100 square feet. I asked for a written estimate of the work, and he just wrote a price on the back of his business card. Real professional. They say they have a great reputation both on Yelp and Angie's List, except they refer to the company that owns them, Carpet Wagon, and not Payless Kitchen Cabinets themselves. I have an Angie's List membership and they have zero ratings on there. read more

Extremely expensive, four times what I thought it should be, as soon as I turned them down they cut their price in half. Against my better judgement and at the persuasion of my wife, we decided to move forward with this project. When the installer showed up he had to ask me what he was supposed to do. The communication between the salesman's and the installer was nonexistent. The installer was clueless. And it took twice as lone as they stated. When the installer was putting in the the shower piping he asked me if I wanted the shower head raised, and I said that the height was fine, and he raised it 12" anyways. Payless installed our cabinets and countertops a few weeks ago and I love the way my kitchen turned out. Avo was helpful through out the process, he gave suggestions for our new kitchen layout, he provided a lot of different cabinet and countertop samples and combinations. Caroline also showed a great level of care and was very responsive to our questions, she was a pleasure to work with. We ended up choosing a modern style cabinet with white quartz countertops and a titanium strata backsplash, the combination turned out gorgeous! Overall, the installation team was respectful and diligent. Even though there was some minor problems with the cabinet doors, I let Caroline know and she had the team back to adjust the cabinets and double check the rest of the drawers. She handled the issue as quickly as possible which I really appreciated. Payless Kitchen Cabinets were professional and efficient, they addressed the minor problems quickly and gave me exactly what I wanted. He explained what different options we have and showed us samples of countertops, cabinets, backsplash, and flooring and gave us some recommendations. This is the second installment of three regarding my experience with Payless Kitchen Cabinets. So far, the cabinets, flooring and countertops were installed. I had to have the cabinet man come back to finish his work. Additional holes were to be drilled in cabinets for electrical and plumbing. I don't think that he was happy about coming back, as he butchered the cuts for the electrical boxes, splintering the plywood. I also complained that his demolition work cost me an additional $200 in repairs. I found that one drawer didn't get finished and almost all of the cabinet doors needed adjustment. He showed me how to adjust so that I know that they are done right. Several of the veneer sheets were not installed correctly, resulting in bowed surfaces. Countertop installation was completed yesterday. Some difficulty with installation, but the quartz counter top that was installed looks terrific! My analysis so far tells me that this is probably a typical installation. Always some problems, but generally, it's getting done. Quality control appears to be an issue with this company and they allow "little mistakes" to pass by. They also have a tendency to "push" some of their work on the homeowner or someone else. I had to hire a plumber and an electrician to complete the project. So far, this company has responded to my incessant complaints and demands for perfection. I guess that the final analysis will reveal to us all regarding Payless Kitchen Cabinets' quality of work and willingness to complete the job. I shall return for my final yelp next week. The cabinets were what just I wanted the tile work was extravagant I was kind of nervous not knowing exactly what the granite would be like but it was exactly what I wanted it looked right of the magazine I've been looking at trying to figure out how I wanted my kitchen remodeled. We were overdue for a remodel in a heavily-used bathroom. I was apprehensive after a quote from another company that wanted to oversell the job, with features we simply did not want. Payless was a breath of fresh air: They actually listened to what we wanted, and why, and worked with us. They were happy to work with the vanity and mirror we had already purchased. There was a lot of work to be done, including replacing some studs and subfloor, which added a very reasonable extra amount to the quote. They didn't fuss about a delay due to a conflict on our end, and were done in the stated amount of time, even with the extra work. We're very happy with the final outcome, and wouldn't hesitate to call them again. read more

The office staff is responsive however there seems to be rifts in the communication between staff and on site workers. For example The cabinets required kick plates as the final step after flooring was to be installed. The office staff and workers disagreed so I had to use an outside professional to complete the job. My suggestion to others is make sure Payless keeps coming back until perfect. read more
