Short version - not the experience I wanted for my daughter's wedding day. Bottom line - we paid approximately $149 per person for a buffet meal where the food was on par with tepid, bland hospital fare. THANKFULLY, We we had great planners, a great DJ, and loving family and friends who made the entire event fun and light. If you decide to hire this company, here's some food for thought: 1) Executed Change orders are a MUST - and it's just good business hygiene -Make a spreadsheet of exactly is provided in the package you buy. -If you make "upgrade" selections, get the cost in writing, get an explicit change order (cost and quantity; even no-cost changes such as changes to the schedule / when food is to be served) signed by you and PC Catering Events and track as a line item in your spreadsheet. Working with young brides and families can be challenging - it's an emotional time and things can get lost in translation. You would think a wedding catering event company that's been around for 30+ years would know this. Being rigid up front is far preferred to being inflexible on the day of the wedding when unexpected time changes come up at the last minute. (Our event ran ahead of schedule, but because of the serving time on the catering contract, we had a 40 minute gap until they would serve our food (it was not yet warm when we needed it). Thank goodness the DJ got us up and dancing for 40 minutes while we waited. When the food was served, it was warm, but not hot.) 2) If you don't receive the final invoice from PC Catering Events by the T minus 3 week date, send an email requesting it (with a read confirmation receipt - or better yet, certified mail). We started reaching out to PC in late March / Early April and got no response until I called a number I found on google on 4/12 and Kevin picked up the phone. If they tell you they already sent the final invoice prior to the 3-week milestone (and to check your spam mailbox if you don't have it), ask them to forward the sent email with the time stamp from their Sent inbox. (I asked for this repeatedly and they would not send.) 3) Carefully scrutinize your spreadsheet from item 1 above against the invoice they provide. I asked repeatedly for a breakdown of the additional cost that doubled our event cost. Our package, base price of $31.50 per person for 50 people became $149 per person for 50 people (inclusive of plates, linens, etc.) for a buffet set-up (not plated). I purchased the alcohol separately - so this was not factored into PC Events per person cost. Once I think I have it figured out, I will attach to this review. 4) Add a tasting to the contract. It's worth the expense. Based on positive food reviews, I can only presume that little to no effort went into caring for the quality of the food at our event. I don't know whether the "warm" temperature of the food was a contributor to its overall lack of appeal. It looked and tasted like it came from industrial packaging purchased from Gordon Food Services. I had 3 bites of salad. The knives provided were inadequate to cut the beef tenderloin. The appetizers were dry and had to be covered in sauce to make it possible to chew and swallow. 5). While you should not have to do this - get confirmation directly from the venue that the catering company has submitted all required paperwork to have the event. We received a letter from our venue 2 days before the wedding stating that PC Events couldn't work on their site because they had not turned in the paperwork. He eventually turned in the paperwork, but when I asked Kevin to send me proof of reinstatement, he told me to call the venue myself. 6) Go with your gut. If you get to the final 3 weeks and you sense things are spiraling out of control - don't throw good money after bad. I could and should have moved the event to another community space that was available to me, ordered pizzas, pasta dishes, and salads, and hired a local bartender. It would have cost less than the additional $3,000 I had to pay on top of my existing $5,000 deposit. Incidentally, PC Events offered a $542 "discount" if my daughter and I would sign an agreement that neither I, my daughter, the wedding party, friends, and family would post any negative reviews about PC Events now or in the future in any form of print or media. (Basically they would pay me $542 for unlimited liability on me.) Since my daughter and I have no control over the potential actions of hundreds of people who could be linked to us, I had no choice but to pay the $542 to keep the event on the rails. read more

Worst experience with a company I have ever had. On 9/29/24 I spoke with Kevin because I was interested in having them cater but he was unable to give me a price estimate on the phone. On that day he took down my card info but said I would receive an invoice/ contract within a couple days and after I sign I would have to fill out the card info again. On 9/30/24 my card was charged $2250 and I just received the money back after filing a chargeback with my bank. This has been an absolute nightmare where I have been bullied and threatened by Kevin/ Nancy for nearly 3 months. I immediately called Kevin and left a voicemail asking what that was for. He texted and said he was busy and that it was for my deposit. To which I responded I never received any paperwork. He told me to check my spam and I asked to speak to his manager since he said he was in a meeting for several hours. I never got any call and then later that night I received the paperwork. I saw the price estimate and because of how I was treated I was no longer interested in working with them. I never signed anything. Kevin said I would receive a refund in 10 business days or less. 9 business days go by and I follow up. I also follow up on the 10th business days on 10/15. No response from phone calls, emails or texts. I then left a negative review and filed a chargeback with my bank. That evening I received the below email from Nancy. I since took down my original review on the advice of a lawyer until the bank sided with me. To my original review they said I was a former employee and was lying. I updated my review to include screenshots of emails and texts proving I'm not a former employee. I responded to their email and didn't get a response until I got this email from Kevin. I questioned this response and told him I will not be signing a refund form because I never signed a contract in the first place. told him to send it over and I would look at it. I never received anything. On November 4th they must have been notified by my bank that I filed a chargeback. I received this email. My review was not slander it was the truth. My bank has said they haven't received a response from PC events. They tried to offer me another time to take my reviews down for a $150 Amazon gift card which I declined. And then we had no contact until November 18th when I deleted my reviews and they sent the last email. I never responded and finally the bank has sided with me. read more

PC Events catered by workplace reception with a delicious assortment of appetizers. My favorite was the shrimp skewers with remoulade sauce, though the Asian chicken skewers were delicious as well. I have very mixed feelings about the way my daughters wedding was catered. Communication was at best chaotic...not the stress that I wanted to see ONE Week before the wedding. The final count was given three weeks before and suddenly everything became confusing... Extra charges for tax not previously quoted, the amount of time required for the wedding suddenly required time and a half for six staff to return after midnight to the office (after the reception). Ironically this must be paid in advance so imagine my dismay when only TWO waitresses remained at 10 :30 pm and the others had left earlier than paid. Will they refund the extra overtime at $33 per hour times 4 persons. Staff were friendly , thorough and neat. They arrived slightly late but it was not an issue . The beef tips were excellent, the chicken Florentine was a disappointment. Green beans were good but not as ordered. Average quality of dinner rolls. Usually he top of wedding cake is saved for the 1st anniversary but it was served. So my single biggest issue was the ridiculous communication and billing issues that were not resolved until less than a week before the wedding . There were probably 4 phone callers and as many emails required at the last moment that had us worried if the caterer would do their job properly.... questions on how many hors d'oeuvres and are the linens going to be available should not be something I should be concerned about 48 hours before the wedding. read more

I have used PC Events for 3 weddings, 4 rehearsal dinners, and numerous company meeting barbecues. Kevin and his staff treated each event as if it was a special occasion. The food is wonderful, especially the barbecued ribs. They were falling off the bone they were so tender. The staff that cooks and serves at the events are more than accommodating, and go out of their way to help you. They even bussed tables while we were all eating. We can't say enough about PC Events Catering!! When we found them online, we knew we wanted to have them cater our reception. We wanted a great, yummy, casual meal and that is exactly what we got! I recently used PC for our corporate Christmas party and was delighted that I found this caterer ! I had a very tight budget and wasn't sure I could pull off the full dinner my boss wanted. Would not recommend due to all the stress this caterer caused us. Let me preface by saying my husband and I are are usually very easy to please and rarely complain. We usually take negative reviews with a grain of salt because there are those people who are unhappy no matter what. But all the negative reviews of this caterer really ring true with us. We had already been warned by our venue that some of her clients had been displeased with PC due to poor communication and organization. For this reason they had decided to remove them from their preferred caterers list. The specifics of our venue did not leave many options for caterers, so we decided to go with PC despite our venue's warnings. It all started out great with our initial tasting. The food was excellent and the price seemed reasonable. They had a lot of experience at our venue and assured us that if we had a standard wedding reception for our venue, then our reception would fit into their standard package hours. The only thing we would have to pay extra for was a $100 delivery fee due to the travel time needed for our far away venue- this seemed reasonable. Between the booking and the wedding there were some moments of poor communication, like when they informed me that a payment was due even though my husband had already made that payment. My coworker who was planning her own wedding with PC had similar payment issues. The real stress came in the final weeks before the wedding. Despite our efforts to finalize our menu and headcount by the 3 week mark that is laid out in the contract, PC repeatedly ignored our emails or advised that they would respond later. With the wedding so close we wanted to lock things in and have all our last minute questions answered, but PC left us anxiously waiting. When they finally sent us our final invoice just 10 days before our wedding we were shocked to see many added charges that were not on our initial invoice. Despite our guest count going from an initial estimate of 85 to a final count of 64 and us removing certain items from the initial invoice, the total charges remained the same due to all these added charges that were not discussed. It seemed like they were unwilling to get less from us than what was initially quoted, so they came up with bogus ways to still get that money- ways that went against the rules of the contract. They tried to charge us over $600 for staff OT even though Kevin had initially assured us that our wedding would be within the standard package hours. They included drive time in the staffing time calculation, contrary to what the contract says. It felt like their strategy was to hold off giving us a final invoice until the last minute in the hopes that we wouldn't put up a fight with the wedding being so close. Eventually some of the charges were removed after we argued our case and referenced the language of the contract. Even then, the billing didn't make much sense but we were sick of arguing. The service on the day of the wedding was good. The food was okay, but definitely not the quality that we had at the tasting. The dessert bar was a total disappointment and a source of embarrassment. We expected something somewhat elegant- we figured they would put a little effort into the display. Instead we got a single tray of cookies and bars that was overshadowed by a bowl of fruit and giant bowls of snacks- snacks that we had provided to "supplement" the dessert bar. Save yourself the stress and go with a more organized and forthright caterer. read more

If I could give 0 stars I could. Awful experience. They charm you well with the first apointment, giving you good food and good promises. However at the wedding they were hours late, the food we got was awful and nothing close to as good as our initial meeting with them, we paid for a butcher station that wasn't used, wrong sauces used, as well as being completely rude. Despite being late and not giving us the food we were promised, they only offered a refund of $50, which was miniscule to what we paid in total. ATTENTION future brides and grooms, I am forewarning you I HIGHLY recommend that you do NOT have PC Events to cater your wedding!! I wish to prevent you from dealing with the stress, poor communication and overall horrible experience my husband and I went through while planning our recent wedding on 6/30/18. Now you may read this and think yes they have a lot of positive reviews on other sites. I made this mistake thinking the few poor reviews were just picky people but I wish I had taken their advice and not gone with PC Events. If zero stars was an option I would have given them that. So for starters my husband and I were planning our wedding from FL and therefore when we visited Ohio to meet with PC events we set up our appointments months in advance. Our first appointment went well after they tried to initially change our time the day before. Kevin was very nice and professional, the food was excellent and we were both pleased with our experience. HOWEVER, from this point on everything went downhill. Once they have your money they could care less about helping you. We decided to do an early payment so we could get a discount after this the payments were a nightmare. I was receiving emails monthly from Nancy and Kevin saying we owed more money, even when the payments were not due. There appeared to be no communication between the two and I was told this was an automated message. They put our account on autopay which was NOT part of the contract and double charged the account $1000. They never seemed to know how much we had already paid but just continued to ask for more money. We did not receive our final invoice which should have been issued 3 weeks prior to the wedding until 6 days prior. Talk about stressful, especially because there were so many things wrong with it. I caution you that their wording in the contract is misleading. They charged us for 6 servers to be present and for travel and "potential" traffic. They showed up to the event 30 minutes late for set up and 4/6 servers left prior to 10:30 when they were scheduled until 1:30 am including driving time. We were NOT reimbursed for labor they did not work. The staff was rude to our guests and threw out our wedding favors. They attempted to pack up an hour prior to their designated stop time. We were supposed to have a second tasting about 4 months prior to the wedding to finalize the menu. I received email confirmation months prior saying they had received our menu options for the main dish and sides. They proceeded to email my husband and I the night before saying they did not receive what menu options we wanted to try and therefore canceled our appointment. We had already flown from Florida to Ohio for this tasting and NEVER received any notification from PC Events stating they needed us to resend the menu items. They did not apologize and made it seem like it was our fault. After not accommodating a new time for us despite their mistake we were given the food in to-go boxes which we had to eat in the car. The food we tried was good, however, On the day of the event, PC Events arrived late and left early. They brought the wrong napkin color, they were supposed to be blush pink and arrived as dusty rose color. The chicken was NOTHING like what we had tasted previously. It was supposed to be a thicker creamy sauce with vegetables which turned out to be chicken with 10 pieces of pepper in the whole tray. The chicken was swimming in a SOUPY sauce that did NOT taste like what we had selected. The "mixed" veggies were 99% green beans and 1% zucchini and squash, ALL of which were overcooked and had poor flavor. The beef tips and mashed potatoes were good. Zach, the chef, was very nice and helpful the evening of the wedding and worked hard to make sure the food was hot and was ready for guests. Overall our experience with PC Events was nothing shy of horrible. I apologize this was such a long post but I needed to warn all the couples currently planning their wedding, this company is awful. I had no other issues with any of our other vendors we used. Save yourself from the stress and disappointment and do NOT have PC Events cater your wedding. read more

The staff who worked our daughter's wedding were absolutely AMAZING! Professional, incredibly helpful and attentive. They were on time and prepared. They get 5 stars. And the food was tasty. Dealing with the office and admin staff is an entirely different story. They get 1 star. Unorganized, unresponsive. And, make sure you know exactly what is included in your package and make certain your contract specifies every detail and matches what the website says is included. The contracts/invoices are contradictory. One line says caterer supplies X, Y and Z then two lines below that it says customer supplies X, Y and Z. The website contradicts itself as well when it comes to how many hours are included in the packages. And if you sign your invoice, your stuck with whatever it says and you pay extra for more hours even if the website says that ALL promo packages include XX hours. And then there is the table linens. It says the package includes all your linens. BUT, they have their own formula for how many they think you need. And that's how many you get. Not, all linens - their estimate. For example, if your tables seat 6, and they think a table should seat 8, then you pay for extra linens because you will have more tables than they think you should. Again - make absolutely certain you go over the contract with a fine tooth comb, particularly the numbers they give as estimates and get a SPECIFIC copy of the policy and what the packages are supposed to include. read more

I used PC Events to host a surprise birthday party for my cousin on her 50th. I live out of state so I did all the planning via email and phone. It went beautifully. I was able to choose an excellent menu. The food was delicious, particularly the lemon chicken. They recommended a hor d'oeuvres for the guests while they waited for the birthday girl, something I had not thought of. The wait staff was amazing and fun to work with as well. Just want to share the positive experience we had with http://pceventsinc.com/ and Chef Zach for our family reunion. If you need a caterer, this is your go to. Chef Zach was very personable and pleasant and paid attention to every detail for us. The food was absolutely amazing! We had the outdoor BBQ. Hamburgers, all beef hot dogs, brats, grilled chicken and BBQ ribs. Brown sugar and pecan sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, collard greens seasoned with turkey. Everything tasted absolutely amazing. The ribs were fall off the bone tender. I don't usually like greens with vinegar. These were seasoned with vinegar also and they were delicious. The vinegar did not overpower the greens. Hamburgers werre some of the best, seasoned perfectly. I am still getting rave reviews from family members who attended our reunion from out of state. read more

Kevin: We were very pleased with the services you provided during our wedding reception at the Park of Roses. When we arrived, your staff had set up the buffet and bar area exactly where we had asked. I was approached when I arrived and staff introduced themselves to me and asked if I had any questions. We reviewed when dinner would be served, and the buffet table was ready when requested. The food was fantastic! The Cookout Buffet fit perfectly with the park setting, but the quality was much better than the usual "hamburgers and hot dogs". The seasoning on the burgers made the flavor more like "steak burgers" and the sauces available took the flavor up another notch. The brats and chicken were also well seasoned and delicious. The pasta salad with vegetables and Italian dressing was very good, but the hit of the sides was the mac and cheese! While we had thought we would include this for the children, it was the adults that said they thought this was some of the best mac and cheese they had ever tasted. Having the disposable table settings you provided and the disposable table cloths I had brought added to the cook out theme and clean up was easy and quick! Everyone, including your staff, pitched in and we were able to actually leave a few minutes ahead of the time I had given to the Parks and Rec Facility. We hired PC Events for a Memorial Weekend Cookout at our home. Bottom line - we would definitely use them again! We felt that they were very accommodating to us. We had initially planned on 40-50 people. As we got closer to the date, the numbers kept rising to eventually we were at 75 - so we not only added on food, but also round as well as cocktail height tables. As it was over the Memorial Day Weekend, we also asked for red and blue table cloths and while they had to go to their warehouse to check on availability - this was not a problem for them. Also - once here, the staff seemed to go out of their way to accomodate our needs and were extremely courteous to us and our needs. They got here prior to the party and then started clean up when most were gone and in such a way, it was not really noticeable. We ordered from their Cookout Menu which provides several different types of combination of cookout food. We choose the one which provided the most options (Grilled Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Bratwurst and Boneless Chicken Breast) and were pretty happy with that. While sides were add'l - it was not very much and got to choose from three. For me there was only one small thing and that had to do with providing notices prior to my credit card being billed - even though we knew it was coming. We did pay an initial deposit and knew prior to the party date, the balance would be billed. In addition, because we kept increasing the numbers - we also knew that the invoice amounts would increase - so this made it a bit more difficult for them. Each time we did add on we did get a new invoice with the adjusted information and costs- and then within a couple of days, they would charge our credit card. Personally - I always feel that in addition to the invoice a notice should be provided that indicates when a card will be charged. For this part though - it was always charged exactly what the invoice indicated it would be. The one thing that we were not really in the loop on though was that we were also billed for a deposit on their rental equipment. They did quickly explain that this deposit would be refunded once the event was over - and they did exactly that - but would have like to have known about this prior. I plan corporate events for company picnics. We booked PC to provide food, tents, tables, linens, and decorations for the tables. The pricing is comparable to competitors in the area. We ordered kabobs for our picnic with the typical outdoor picnic fare and the food received rave reviews from guests. The staff was friendly, wore nice uniforms, and was on time. The tents we rented were the best we ever had for our picnic versus those from other companies. The centerpieces were cute and theme appropriate. The linens were clean and nicely setup as were the tables and chairs. The only downside was one of their workers (serving food) told one of our guests she could not eat food from the kid's table. It really upset the guest she couldn't eat food we had paid for. The chef apologized but it did little to make the guest happy as she had already eaten food she didn't enjoy. We also did not receive any leftovers as we have with other companies (whatever food we ordered/paid for they cooked and served or gave to us in leftover bins.) The ground near the food lines was littered with food after they left and I was disappointed they just left large amounts of food there after clean up. They also ran out of ketchup early at our picnic and weren't bothered by this and did not go buy any for the hot dogs and hamburgers they were serving. I would recommend PC as the quality of the products were good but the customer service is not stellar. read more

Kevin and his team were a dream to work with! They made the entire planning process so much easier for me; from their on time arrival to their set up and tear down, everything went smoothly. We used PC Events Catering for our Company Picnic in July. They did an excellent job with preparing everything. The prices were great! We are a company of about 340 employees that runs 24/7. They had a staff member serve every shift which was great! The only downside is that we are a heavy industrial manufacturing company. We told them not to bring any of their tablecloths because we would probably get them dirty so they didn't. We rented chairs and tables from a different company through them. When the table/chair company came to pick up the chairs the pickup guy couldn't wipe off heavy grease with the "heavy spray" he had on his truck. He was very unpleasant to deal with after that. So the communication between PC Events, Inc and the table/chair rental company about our work environment may not have been 100% but everything else was! We have used PC Events for our corporate events. The owner and staff are friendly and professional, a real pleasure to work with. At our Christmas event, the staff arrived on time, set up the food, served, packaged the leftovers and tore down the buffet. They were happy and jovial through the entire process. The food is delicious, obviously prepared with a passion for the craft. Yesterday, we had them cater a breakfast for the staff, and, as usual they were prompt, friendly and professional. Again, the food and service were wonderful, and the leftovers were gone by the end of the day. We will be using them again in the future. read more
