Coming back into modeling was something I always promised myself I would try after my kids got older. Unfortunately, my previous agents are no longer with us and I feared I would not find another agent that made me feel so at ease and comfortable. I took it as a sign and put that on hold. The other day someone suggested I contact Wings. I did and Jake got back to me in 45 min. We agreed to meet the next day. Being that I have experience in the past I wanted to make sure and do all my research. This is where it gets upsetting. I did my research and saw a few reviews that were downright hateful and vindictive. Of course, there are some that are obvious blatant lies but some, if people didn't know better, may actually believe. There are definitely far more positive reviews than negative. However, the negative ones are just so nasty and either flat out obvious lies or seem to be a misunderstanding. You can tell that several of the reviews are disgruntled parents or "models". I feel it is safe to say that they are either upset that Jake is too blunt for their liking or they are misinformed and think that headshots and comp cards are free. These are costs you will have anywhere. I speak from experience, his fees are very reasonable for 1 but for 2, you are not required to go through him for your photos anyhow. So it was brutally cold and it is a Sunday but Jake was kind enough to make it out to meet with me. He came around the corner and I felt instant relief. He was completely warm and welcoming, it felt like an old friend from the beginning. We spent the next hour talking about Wings and Jake's start, all the people that we have worked with and reminiscing over good times and the great people we have encountered over the years in this business. I can tell that Jake is not going to sugarcoat things. He has a business to run and it is clear he wants people that are in it for the right reason and are willing to put in the work to get where they want to go. I can tell you from our one hour conversation that Jake is a no nonsense, professional, who is passionate, knowledgeable, serious about his business, and I am so excited to begin working with him. I hope that people don't read these few terrible things about Wings and immediately discredit the business. I have done my research and I met with Jake who was more than happy to take so much time out of his weekend to answer my many questions and clarify and explain things that he should never even have to explain to me. If you are in modeling or acting or ever even considered it, I highly recommend contacting Wings. If nothing else you will get valuable feedback from one of the absolute best out there. It's sad that people can be so mean. There wouldn't be room in the industry for people who are out to intentionally hurt someone with absolutely zero facts to back that up anyway. Instead of thanking Jake for taking an hour out of his day (for free) to talk to someone and give them his honest opinion and valuable advice, they take it personal and get on here in an attempt to ruin his reputation when they don't like his feedback or they find out that he doesn't offer guaranteed overnight success. He does offer advice, tools, support, time, knowledge, auditions, guidance and much more. If you're looking for someone to "promise" fame, hotels host these "auditions" a few times a year and "only" charge $5K for "guaranteed success" or one of the local "modeling schools" that promise you will be the next big star AFTER "investing" in THEIR MANDATORY CLASS. I say let success speak for itself and hopefully Jake never feels he has to defend himself or his business over people who can't handle the truth. People who are clearly trying to get into the wrong business or possibly just don't have any understanding of the business. Wings Model Management is top notch and it shows.

I've worked the fairs and helped scout for him he will be honest with you and he is very reasonable on his photo prices which if your serious about modeling and acting you will need. He is one of the best in the business. My oldest has been with him for 25 years since she was a month old. She was one of his first clients. Now to be fair I am cautious about this but this industry is my daughters number one dream. Therefore, I felt it best for her to learn about what she is saying she wants to do. I researched the school and business before we came and saw the data on the fact that this is a training program. When we came for the audition they were transparent on the program and the fact of no guarantees. Now of course they had a great sales pitch for which they should since they are a business. They answered all my questions honestly. Even if it was that they don't know. LOL. So here's the info you need to know to make a decision if you want to try it. Note: my child is only 3 classes in but so far so good so I want to give them a chance to be reviewed Accor my experience thus far. Atmosphere: very friendly. Music playing in the lobby is lit!! Yes I said lit. I want to break out in dance but I have to hold my cool. Hehe. The front desk, director, and staff are friendly also. Now, some more than others but that's a given. Cost: so if you know me I'm going to break it down to the detail. So here's the scoop. The classes run ~$17 per half hour. Reference, I did half hours because other art type Lessons, such as violin, piano, voice, are charged by 30 mins increments. So that was key for me personal as my other kids do those type lessons. Therefore, when you look at it like that the cost is reasonable. Now, beware they want that $17 per 30mins in advance for 30, 2 hour classes. Therefore, that total will give you a heart attack. LOL IJS. So before you call me a crazy mom. Go add up how much you are paying for your child to do sports, music lessons, etc. at the end of the day it all adds up. Whew. Our kids don't appreciate us enough. Ok, so what do you get for this $2000+ investment ? 30 classes and materials and/ or tools needed for subjects ranging in modeling, acting, self care, and self esteem subjects. Including learning about the Business aspect of these career paths. 3 initial photo session to begin your portfolio with unlimited retakes/additions for 3 years after you graduate from the certification program (30 classes) Membership into their agency: MTM Now, there are other things too but I can't do them enough justice so say until the next time.
