Enmore Park is a lovely space to come for a bit of chill-out time. Whether you want to find a quiet…read morespot under a tree to read a book, or you're bringing family and friends for a picnic, there's enough space and lush green grass for the entire neighbourhood. It's also super flat, so you'll often see kids learning to ride bikes along the paths or running amuck in the playground. (Must admit, I was tempted to join in.) A big drawcard is the Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre, which has had a reno and now offers an eight-lane 50-metre pool and a mini pool for toddlers. There's also a café and a gym in the complex. The park sits close to the border of Enmore and Marrickville. There's usually parking available around the outskirts of the park or there's a bus stop directly out the front. If you need a bit of replenishment, stop by the café, head across the road to Serendipity ice-cream or take a stroll to the pub Vic on the Park.

The play equipment here is great (yes, I have sampled it personally), and tailors to the Inner West's musical inclinations. With a giant glockenspiel amongst other musical/play equipment, it's great place to try out that new song you've been working on - the neighbours here must relish the sound of silence. In saying that, Foley Park is a pretty peaceful place. Despite the constant chortlings of the Wireless House, a sound-art installation designed to replicate an 1930's wireless radio that once lived here (this is really cool despite being somewhat creepy at night), this provides a more interesting and relaxing soundscape, as opposed to just being irritating white noise. Foley Park fills with people lying in the grass on their lunch breaks, and as a free wireless internet hotspot, its a common and lovely spot for uni groups to meet. It remains pretty well lit at night, and the pathway running through the park doesn't feel like it should bear signs of warning. And the best thing about it? It's directly opposite both Sonoma bakery/cafe and Fish On Fire, and thus makes the perfect picnic spot.

The small park is almost designed like a running track where there's a lawn/greenery in the middle and paved way with benches scattered throughout the track. Because it's so small, it doesn't really block out any of the traffic noise nearby, but visually, you can try.

This being the largest park and smack in the middle of the city, it is quite impressive. Large mature trees, walkways, seating areas, multiple fountains, memorials, an art gallery and even a museum. My favorite part was the huge chess game and the watching the folks playing getting into heated discussions as bystanders were taking sides of the two players and loudly voiced their continued advice. What a fabulous addition to the city. The only problem are the birds as seems to be the case all over Sydney. Mostly the Ibis, which seem to be also called bin chickens. They are everywhere, quite aggressive and therefor not so well liked.

Hyde Park is absolutely lovely! It's home to such a bunch of grand trees like I've never seen…read morebefore! It's obvious by the lushness of this park that it's well taken care of and a national treasure. It's easily accessible by foot and the Museum station. It's close to all kinds of attractions and has amazing city views from all angles. I definitely recommend visiting it and maybe sitting to have lunch if possible. Still, it is quite a lovely, and well tended, park, with some beautiful gardens, and a pleasant atmosphere. You also have the ubiquitious war memorial as well.

This is a beautiful park which was refurbished with new gardens and stone work during 1995…read more It contains war memorials, lovely flower display beds, two tennis courts, plenty of benches, a colourful playground and day care centre, and a rotunda. Have your wedding ceremony here, family and romantic picnics, or sit under a palm tree and enjoy lunch away from your desk. The space is used for large cultural and commemorative functions, such as Anzac Day celebrations and Carols by Candlelight. For the history buffs, this park also played a bit role in the Botany Remembers celebrations in August 1995, commemorating 50 years since the end of the war in the Pacific.

Dogs! Yes: dogs!…read more Every afternoon around 5pm Willoughby's dog owners converge on the park for a no-leash, multi-pawed, meaty-tongued extravaganza, a mad panting carnival full of black gums, wild eyes and reckless, relentless bum sniffing. This is humanity at its finest: dog owners are an honest, convivial bunch, and they give great chat. This review could also have read: This is the leafy green heart and soul of suburban Willoughby, a three-tiered recreational park enclosed by tall gum trees wreathed with kookaburras and magpies, encircled by winding walkways and dotted with kids playgrounds. It didn't though. I own a (fat) pug, so the dog angle was far more appealing.

This really is a great park. Full of happy children in the playground!…read more Most of the park is lovely and well maintained. But unfortunately the playground isn't. The large slide has worn and has been repaired with silicon which has begun to peel out, then someone has put duct tape over the top which obviously didn't work. There is also a large hole in the tunnel which presents a tripping hazard. Outside the fenced in area there is a merry-go-round which is at ground level so close supervision is required for young children to ensure they don't accidentally wander onto it. Despite some maintenance issues it is a great park with lots of inclusions and well thought out with equipment to aid in development, both physical and sensory.

This was the location used for the starting area for the Sydney Marathon. The park looked to be well maintained with a nice view of the underside of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. One thing about the park was that it was slopped towards the harbour, so some of the portapotties weren't quite stable.

It features: great views, well maintained lawn, not as many seagulls as on the south shore...which is kind of weird, right? There are a few benches and you can get some shade by hiding under the bridge. There's a playground and public toilets (did not use). It does slope so be prepared to chase a ball if it goes astray...which is a good way to tire those kiddos out should that be needed. Great spot to fly a kite, have a picnic, enjoy outside and read a book.

Well, not quite since this place is…read moremonumentally huge, and it is absolutely impossible to pretty much explore every nook and crany in the limited amount of time that was available to me, but I did get a decent chance to wander around a large part of it, and at least say that I have been to Centenial Park, or at least more than just running in there and looking for a toilet. They do have barbeque areas, and quite a few of them, but they also have lakes, and just plain old good parkland to wander around.

I rode a bike through here on the many improved trails that crisscross through this public space. Through here, there were teams practicing rugby, enough bicyclists to start a biker gang, joggers, runners, and people who were out to just take in the sunshine. As you cross through this park, you find lots of green open spaces large enough to play a full game of rugby, without running into a park bench or a tree. There's restrooms available. My favorite thing about this park is the huge stone gates at each entrance that remind you that you're entering an important public space. There's monuments throughout the park, and plenty of parking! I felt safe riding through here, just due to the sheer number of people who were out having a stroll in the park!
