On one occasion did I buy a Primark top for my sister which was probably cost me more to buy in the charity shop than it would have done in Primark. Anyway, I decided to pop into Quaker Care for two reasons: a) I'd never been in one of these charity shops. In fact, I'd never heard of it before. b) I was after something to compliment my roller disco outfit (all is explained in my Harlequin review). Stepping into the uncannily quiet shop, I quickly scoured it for ladies clothes. Of which there was a minuscule number. Eh what? Yes, barely any ladies clothes in a charity shop. Oh deary. Well, since I no longer had a reason to be in the shop, and there was nothing keeping me there, I departed. I was exceedingly disappointed at the lack of choice, particularly in a charity shop in this part of Belfast. But, that's not their fault really, so this is a plea for Quaker Care... Please give them a few nice ladies clothes. Pleeeeease.

I like charity shops for two reasons - a chance to find a bargain and there is no snotty sales assistant putting the hard sell on. I hate the hard sell and it's wasted on me, the minute I feel even the slightest push I'm outta there. Anyway I genuinely have never seen a Quaker Care charity shop before and having just watched the channel 4 documentary on Quakers and having fallen a little bit in love with a young Quaker boy I decided to go in, I was, for some reason, hoping he would be in the shop! ha ha what is wrong with me? Anyway (again), I had noticed that Lynne M (a fellow Yelper! yo to Lynne!) had said there were not many ladies clothes - not today! Lynne - you must have been in on a bad day - there were ladies clothes galore and good one at that. If I were a business women I could have picked up a really smart business suit from Hobbs or a very flash office dress from Coast both coming it at less than a tenner. I love charity shops in the more affluent areas of town! I'm not tight i just love a bargain and I think you could pick up a few nice one in here!

Again a great collection of ladies garments and many from very expensive high street stores such as Jaegar and Karen Millan to name drop a few. Gotta love charity shops in affluent areas. This one is well run and organised as all the clothes are arranged by colour - i've never seen this done before. I had a look through but didn't see anything I wanted that day, though there was a nice pair of wedged sandals from River Island going at the very reasonable price of £3.00 which I may go back for another day. A decent experience and I'd say you would have a good chance of scooping a bargain in here. I said cheerio - she said nothing!

The activities of Bryson can be split into two main areas: care services and recycling services. From programmes for children and youth to services for the elderly, Bryson House provides the highest standards of care to those who need it most. I actually volunteered for a while with Bryson in the People, a volunteer befriending scheme matching adults with learning difficulties with individuals from the wider community on a one-to-one basis. In addition to our well-known Care Services, they have undertaken created a number of environmental projects including Recycling Services, an Energy Efficiency Advice Centre and a range of education programmes to help young people understand their relationship to the environment. From my experience the people of Bryson are passionate about their jobs and the people and communities they help in. If you have any desire to volunteer, or perhaps want to recycle more effectively, look no further than Bryson!
