We've used Peaceful Pets for about 4 months for our two large dogs, and they've been awesome! We have a fantastic care team, and Ibarra has been our main dog walker. I only met the care team for about 45 min during the initial consultation, and I wondered how they could possibly remember all the instructions, but they've been incredible. As with many pets, my dogs have their fair share of quirks and are used to a certain routine. Ibarra and our care team does such a wonderful job of keeping to that routine. They also go above and beyond by doing short training sessions with the dogs using positive reinforcement. The highlight of my day is receiving detailed reports with photos at the end of each visit discussing how each dog did and if anything out of the ordinary occurred. The rates are higher than Rover or independent walkers/sitters, but it's SO worth my peace of mind. I know that the team is trustworthy, insured, and, most importantly, trained to deal with unexpected situations. One of my dogs is leash reactive, so I appreciate that the care team is trained to avoid other dogs during their outings. Dana and the company has put other policies in place (no dog parks, meet and greets with a familiar walker when a new walker joins the care team) that shows that pet welfare is their top priority. The higher rate also goes towards a living wage and benefits for the employees! Wins all around. Just look at these happy pups! The only change I'd like is for the company to extend their daily hours to 8pm (usual is 7am-7pm). The dogs don't need someone to stay overnight, but they would need to be let out at 8pm for a last potty. We just finished three sessions with Dana and James and we could not be happier. Our golden retriever is reactive toward other dogs his size or larger and was hard to handle on morning walks. Dana and James taught us not only techniques to distract the dog and disrupt the trigger but also explained the "why" behind what we were doing. This morning we had the best walk ever with Brix. He did get distracted by two other dogs but we were able to apply the tools and techniques we learned to a great degree of success. They use both praise for the dog and for the owners when either does something right. Also, they have a great online portal for communications. We were able to see our schedule, pay our bills and can schedule other services in the future. Whether through the portal, email, text for phone, Peaceful Pets is very responsive. This is a long overdue rating now! We've used Peaceful Pets for nearly two years now for breakfast and dinner visits to our two kitties. They are used to having someone working from home almost every day, can be temperamental with strangers, and are not the easiest to feed with one grazer, and one that will eat everything available and in sight. Peaceful Pets goes above and beyond to take care of our little girls. They're as close to our children as we'll ever have and we always feel like the Peaceful Pets team treats them this way too. I found Peaceful Pets on my first assignment here in Sacramento in 2015 and they were WONDERFUL!!!! RELIABLE!!! They kept Gus so happy!!! When I came back for another travel assignment a year later they remembered us! It was great! Gus was treated like family! Now we live here permanently and we still rely on the entire Peaceful Pets team. Gus has separation anxiety and has been known to counter surf, scatter the trash, and tear through things when I leave. It really is the highlight of his week. When he sees James, he gets so excited that I just let go of the leash and let him run over to greet him. My cat Yumi developed a severe herpetic infection of her right eye, the vet ophthalmologist had put her in a rigid collar to protect her eye for several months with strict instructions not to remove the collar. I was having extreme difficulty administering multiple liquid and tablet medications to a feisty cat while she was in this rigid collar. Due to COVID precautions at the time, the vet technicians could not allow me back in the clinic to teach me how to administer medications with this rigid collar on. My regular cat sitter told me she did not feel comfortable administering several medications to an upset cat. There were no online instructional videos that teach you how to administer a cat medications while they are in a collar! I reached out to Peaceful Pets for help and they were thankfully able to assist me. Harmoni and Michele were able to not only administer several medications to Yumi without difficulty but they were able to teach me how as well. With the training they provided, I feel much more comfortable with providing medications to my cat and am able to handle this on my own now. I can't say enough good things about this company and the people that work there. They are genuine animal people. We got our girls (Aussie mix pups) 1 week before the lockdown in 2020. We struggled to socialize them enough and tried several training options. We ended up with two girls that we adore but that struggle with new things (dogs, cats, people, situations) one much more so than the other. They also grew up with someone home with them over 95% of the time. The people at peaceful pets have met our girls where they are and never forced anything. They have quickly won them both over and are able to come in whether we are home (I work from home and sometimes can't get out for a walk with them) or not, play with the girls and get them leashed up for walks. Our skittish girl has improved considerably on walks and seems more playful and relaxed. They communicate before and after walks/visits, send a complete write up with adorable photos. If you're looking for reasonable rates this is not the place. Contacted this company to inquire about dog care and training. Their rates are not listed on the website so I had to email for information. What a RIP-OFF. They are trying to charge $100 for an overnight to stay at my house. Like what's the $100 for? To sleep? to take the dog on a couple walks and feed it? Seriously? Like you're only there from 7p-7a - why would I pay $100 for that?? And trying to charge $26 for a 30min drop-in which they said would include: dog feeding, basic home care, and a walk - how you gonna do all that and make sure the pup gets a decent walk before you leave? Clearly this company is only interested in certain clientele. And, clearly, mostly interested in how much money they can make. Found someone through Rover who has many years of experience and charges $15 for a 30-min walk and drop-in and offers the same services. She also charges $25 for boarding - which includes overnight and daycare at her home. How you gonna tell me it costs $100 to do an overnight... How unfortunate. We absolutely love Peaceful Pets! They are so amazing and easy to work with and our dog, Eva, seriously loves them. They take Eva on hour long walks all over awesome parts of Sacramento and since Eva is super friendly they bring her along on group walks which she loves. It is great because our dog gets to socialize, explore the outdoors and get a lot of exercise. On days after she has been on a walk with Peaceful Pets, Eva is super content and happy to just be home relaxing with us. The process of setting up the walks is really easy and I love the professionalism that Dana and James bring to their job. They utilize an online scheduling and message system which makes communication with them extremely easy. After each walk they will also upload a summary of Eva's walk along with the cutest pictures in the world of our dog. I can't get over how cute their pictures are! This place is beyond amazing. I've been using Peaceful Pets Pet care since I moved to Sacramento last year. I wish I could give them 100 stars. They're extremely attentive to my two senior kitties and their various medicinal and food needs. Whenever they come, they spend a great deal of time playing with my furballs and giving them lots of cuddles. Besides cuddles and playtime they also shovel the boxes twice a day, water my grass, get the mail and take out the trash if needed. After every visit they send you an update on your kitties' activities, how much food they ate and they include pictures. It really puts my mind at ease knowing my fur babies are in such good hands. I never have to worry about them when I am gone. The staff is amazingly friendly and so accommodating. I've had a few instances where I had emergencies and had to schedule care within a few hours of leaving. They've always been able to accommodate my bookings.
