They have a great little collection of items from the home ware collection - coasters, table mats, candles and candle holders. The jewellery is costume jewellery, fun chunky necklaces and little bracelets and earrings. The clothes are just a selection again but I must say they do choose a good selection of dresses, cardigans and skirts.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who hoves through Waterloo not so much as a shortcut, but as a stop off on the way from tube or train to bus or taxi home. There, the siren call of shiny things is guaranteed to lure me in. There's a heavy emphasis on party wear that I've never been quite able to work out. I mean, if you're catching a train to a party, you're either wearing what you're going in, or taking it with you, aren't you? The only time the store can (and does) irritate is if you've got three or four people in there with large suitcases. I once asked the security guard if he would watch my case while I just went the other side of a rail (constantly in his full view, I just didn't want to block the aisle!), and was met with a basilisk stare and silence. I took that as a no. By sharp contrast, the till and floor staff are some of the nicest you'll find in a Monsoon anywhere.

I am not local (American) but I have lived in London as a young poor 20 something. Primark was a Godsend for me. It's also really interesting now that they have expanded into the states (although not where I live) to come back and see how it has changed. When I lived here and had no money this was my go to for anything trendy, or needed. When I moved back to America quite unexpectedly I went there to stock up on inexpensive suitcases to pack up my life and carry back across the world. Any fast fashion or trendy items, this was my go to. Needed something for my home that didn't need to be high quality, Primark. I got a job at AllSaints a few blocks away and we were supposed to wear their clothes exclusively, but we only got a 60% discount (that's a big discount but still not inexpensive for a college kid) so I got a lot of my work shoes here and they never noticed. Now that I visit as a tourist, it's my go to for things like I need an umbrella that I can leave behind when I go home, or it's raining and I didn't bring my raincoat with me today...or it's colder than what I planned for on this trip so let me stop by and grab a few pieces of layering clothes or a coat. The Disney selection makes me wonder why there isn't a Primark in Orlando (because they get very unique Disney licensed items). If you don't have a big budget or are in need of souvenirs, I also recommend Primark. But if you're looking for a luxury experience, this isn't for you. If you're anti fast fashion, please just skip this. It's busy and loud and sort of a cattle call at the till, but it's great novelty spot. The assortment of inventory is very different compared to the US, and honestly, it's not as good LOL. Also, if anyone knows the "No tag" rule at all TJX Company stores in the US. Whenever you would like to purchase something that doesn't have a tag, they try to give you the best possible price for an item that's comparable to the item. The same thing happened to me with a bracelet, and they tried to charge me 15 pounds for a bracelet that's worth 4. There were many cheaper ones all around, but of course they picked the most expensive one. . . I had to drop a star for that, but otherwise it was a cool touristy experience.

What did the butler wear?…read more Well if he dressed himself in this shop, he'd be wearing a lot of uninteresting vintage. Some people like 80's vintage with its loud sequins and copious ruffles. Some people like 60's vintage with its flowing skirts and bohemian prints. Some people like the emperor's new clothes which gets quite risque. Some people like to ride Bengali tigers around town. What the Butler wore like mainly dull 40-60's clothes that don't much hold my attention. Nor do they hold grudges, which is always appreciated. Someone somewhere sometime someplace will like this stuff, but it's not my style. I want color and pizazz and fitted pencil skirts and 20's flapper dresses, not much of which I saw here. (I saw not, but nor did I chainsaw. Good thing eh? But if you know of a good see saw in town, we should talk). The Market is picturesque with lovely flower carts by the entrances. Historically, Covent Gardens were the gardens for the convent. Today, the beautiful enclosed market hosts various vendors that change regularly. The market is a great way to connect with locals. We went to the market four times during our visit. On Sundays, various art vendors set up and we visited with a local fossil dealer and purchased a couple fossils. We loved our dinner in one of the nearby cafes. On Mondays, antique dealers set up and sell various treasures. My husband bought me a vintage bracelet. We also watched a quintet play in the atrium. We found a few reasonably priced souvenirs to take home for gifts. Plenty of great restaurants surround the Market. We ate at several places and enjoyed our meals. The Market always seems to be new and people were friendly.
