The providers are good. However jonna the "mom" is a terrible person and treats the staff horribly. The brother Jason is so lazy he can't show up before lunch every day. He thinks he's a general contractor but I won't let him build a dog house for me. They rent out a bunch of property that is questionable at best. The mom and Jason are so toxic to the company. If we could give Peak Professionals office staff less than a 1 We would! I must say Dr. Peterson is great 4+ stars and we are very happy he separated himself from this practice! We showed up for my husband's appointment and all the lights in the front desk area and lobby we turned off, very dark. No one at the front desk. We waited along with another patient after us for 10 minutes, even though we heard laughing and talking in the back area. When we were finally noticed we gave the front desk person my husband's new insurance card, which did not require a copay. She ignored the card and would not enter it and demanded the copay due from his old insurance or we couldn't see the doctor. We were never reimbursed for the copay. For my husband's follow up appointment we had to cancel which we called the morning of the day before his afternoon appointment. We then received a no show bill which we questioned and were told that we didn't leave a message but texted them after 5pm the day before. We told them evidence to the contrary which the billing person didn't accept. Being a healthcare professional I know they are able to do better if they wanted to! Run from this practice. Incompetent. Miscoded a 100% covered women's wellness service and REFUSED to correct it even though the correct code was in my medical record from the Dr. exam. Took 18 months to get resolved, as well as dealing with a collection agency. The Peak 'billing supervisor' refused to return calls from the hospital that performed the service to request them to resubmit the claim with the correct coding, He also never returned my multiple calls after I had spoken to him in person and shown him this was a Peak error that they refused to correct. I had to petition the hospital to get a $590 service that should be fully covered and then pay the 'cash' price out of pocket, even though this was a 100% covered service. Have since switched to a different provider that is like night and day from Peak. Don't put your health care in the hands of this practice. read more

During my discussion with Carlos, it was clearly communicated they share the same views on controlled substances as the majority of providers in the state: specifically, people who need off label doses of any controlled substance should just suffer. This company falsely bills you for "non billable" services which is against the law. Many of you probably don't even pay attention to that and just pay what they tell you they owe. According to Medicare guidelines and state and federal law a provider cannot bill you for "non billable" charges. Mine for reviewing my lab work that was done. $57 to look at my labs not once but twice. Do not I repeat do not pay for these charges. I would not recommend this practice to anyone ever. The billing office will not call you back and they don't even have a number for the patient to call you can only leave a message with the office staff who are incapable and have no clue what they are doing. Seriously Peak Performance you need to do better for your patients. Quality care is essential for the community and you do not give them that. As a RN I am ashamed of you and the billing office. read more

This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a primary care office. I'm a healthcare professional and have been a patient of 4 different offices in the past decade due to being a student and moving for jobs, and I've never once had an issue. My husband and I both made annual preventive visit appointments with this office. When we arrived, we were told we were not able to do annual visits and had to do new patient visits due to insurance. I politely argued with the lady at the front desk and told her this is not a requirement of our insurance and is an unnecessary appointment. She flat out refused to allow us annual visits and said we would not be seen by their providers without a new patient visit. Well guess what. The new patient visit was essentially us reading out our short medical histories that we had already filled out on new patient paperwork and leaving. My husband was only going in for the appointment for our employer's HSA reward and had no medical reason to see the doctor in the first place. I was only going in for birth control. This has always been included as a preventative service in all my visits at other offices (it is obviously preventative by nature), but this office says if you ever want birth control you cannot get it prescribed at an annual preventative visit. We were then mailed a huge bill for essentially receiving no actual healthcare. It is obvious this office does not care about their patients' health or time, but only how much they can line their pockets. As a healthcare professional myself, it is frustrating and sad to see firsthand an office that purposefully creates barriers to young people accessing preventive care. If you are a young adult looking for preventive care, look elsewhere. This office does not have your best interests in mind. read more

Every time I've come here, I found the care to be sub-standard but I generally wrote it off to my poor insurance coverage and the medical system as a whole. This time was just ridiculous though. I came to get blood drawn for 2 very straight forward lab tests that I needed done for university registration, namely a MMR titer and a TB test. The PA was cordial. I interfaced with him for a few minutes - no issue. I was in the office however for over 1.5 hours and was finally told to go to the hospital to have my blood drawn there because they didn't have the right color tubes. Mind you, I'm 9 months pregnant so sitting in a doctors office for so long is extra uncomfortable. I was very clear about the intent of my visit during scheduling. There is no reason this appointment should have taken more than 20 minutes or lack necessary tools to complete. read more

Our "NOT GOOD" rating is sadly way too kind. EXTREMELY POOR is most descriptive of Peak Family Medicine. We've been patients for only 8 months, and have experienced an issue on every visit with exception of one. This "doctor's" office provides an unsympathetic doctor, poorly skilled staff, and extremely uncaring management! They just do not listen to the patient's needs. We are done. The doctor knows my husband's serious condition: ankylosing spondylitis. He suggested my husband see a specialist in Denver. Well, we found one this week in GJ! Go figure! We needed a reference faxed to St. Mary's. They refused unless he was seen again by his Peak doctor. My husband is in excrutiating pain and the strong meds are not working. He can barely walk/sleep. He needs to see a specialist at St. Mary's asap, but PEAK requires another office visit = $$$. We ARE no longer going to these so called "healthcare providers". While DR.Joe is a nice person, his staff is terrible on their best day. I never saw them show any concern for anything but process and insurance and more paperwork. I am totally disgusted with the complete lack of being professional in the from office. I would go into more detail but suffice it to say I WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN FOR ANY REASON...PERIOD.Which I find to be a shame. Unfortunately is appears that the first and foremost concern is money and not the person in need of care. If you go into the waiting room you will find local business ads and on facebook you can apply to put ads there. Is the how a 'PROFESSIONAL GROUP OF DOCTORS " want to be know?... Maybe....it sure tell what the real story is there and what its priorities are. I find this a very sad situation. The concept of the BUSINESS is intriguing, but the way it has been put together leaves so much to be desired. I would not recommend using this group. I hope that Dr. Joe can find a way to improve his staffing, as that part of the business will ruin it and due to that part of the business I will never go back and you should avoid it also. read more

I had a bill from over a year ago, no bills where sent to me and I found out I still own them because I needed an appointment. I had my Insurance company on the phone with peak professionals and I on a three-way call. my Insurance company told them I own them nothing but peak still couldn't do anything. This incident has never happened to us before. The office receptionist made a false accusation against myself and my husband. She said that while we were previously in the office we both were verbally abusing the office workers and therefore they inactivated our account. However, we are prospective new patients and have never been in the office before! We had sent in our application on line and had walked into the office to schedule our first appointment. They must be confusing us with someone else. In any event, a false accusation like this is a serious matter and would therefore warn anyone to keep in mind if you are looking for a doctor. read more

Minus 10 stars if they are available! They refused to see my husband post surgery with an infection because we still owe money. I called and made what I thought was a payment arrangement. Come to find out nope! They now want a bunch more money to see him and refused to see him without making the payment. I sure hope the doctors know patients are being turned away for this. When I called all they did was kept quoting office policy! There is no care at this medical care office! The billing department is a nightmare. I have been calling for months regarding an error in coding on one of my claims. I have provided everything to them to get it corrected and over to Montrose Memorial, yet every time I call, it is like the process starts over. Extremely frustrating experience that has me questioning staying with them due to the incompetence of the billing department of which is costing me time and money due to the incorrect claim and the failure to correct it. read more

The medical staff is kind and helpful, but their billing department is garbage. GARBAGE. They have incorrectly coded the same preventative (ie, covered by insurance) tests as general medical/diagnostic THREE TIMES! I have PAGES of notes between them, the hospital and insurance trying to get them to code the bill correctly and they seem incapable of doing it. This is HUNDREDS of dollars coming out of my pocket if they don't fix it. When I first spoke with the head of billing, she flat out told me that she was "not going to argue with me OR my insurance company because it was coded correctly" -- so rude! A few calls later (to her underlings, I assume), and they confirmed it WAS coded incorrectly and they supposedly resent the information to the hospital. Weeks later we got a collections call from the hospital and, oops, Peak forgot to fax it! Once they did and it was processed, they'd STILL used the wrong codes. On the third round now, and insurance just called and sure enough, ONE test was coded correctly this time, but another very expensive one wasn't. I have to wonder if Peak is TRYING to screw me over. Unbelievable! If you can, do yourself a favor and find a different office to go to. We had to sign up with them b/c no other GPs were accepting new patients here, but I'm going to actively look for a different doctor. Too bad b/c I like my doc (the reason for 2 stars), but spending HOURS over the course of MONTHS to deal with a simple coding error is RIDICULOUS! read more
